  1. That's true. But, you know, I am rather curious of this famous Talisman mechanics. I remember playing it in the early nineties and haven't done that till now. I am older, more mature, maybe I will discover something new about it? . And, to repeat it again, I feel rather tired of learning new mechanics, so a good simple one would do me good .
  2. Booored and everybody who say "I'll pass". Let me say just one simple thing: you are judging a product you did not see, did not play, do not know. It is "based" on Talisman. Based. Nobody said it IS Talisman. I am pleased to hear there is a new Wh40k game based on a rather simple game because I am tired of too complicated titles. And I hope the FFG people are not ignorants and know how to enhance the game fun, so "based" sounds good to me. To sum up: I think it is really not very wise to judge anything one has not seen nor played nor known before.
  3. Alas, I can't edit the above post, so I have to write another one as I made a mistake. I think that the "commando" is a Ratling Sniper 1. Ultramarine Captain (sure - mini shown) 2. Sister of Battle (sure - mini shown) 3. Commissar (sure - mini shown) 4. Rouge Trader (sure - mini shown) 5. Ratling Sniper (sure, they have written about it, i think it is a mini with a piece of material on his head and with whiskers ) 6. Psyker (sure - mini shown) 7. Callidus Assassin (sure, they have written about it. I think it's that bald female figure on the home page) 8. Ogryn (sure, they have written about it) 9. Grey Knight (almost sure, there is a picture at the bottom of the description section) 10. Inquisitor???
  4. So, to sum up, we will have: 1. Ultramarine Captain (sure - mini shown) 2. Sister of Battle (sure - mini shown) 3. Commissar (sure - mini shown) 4. Rouge Trader (sure - mini shown) 5. Commando (sure - mini shown) 6. Inquisitor (I can't imagine such a game without one ) And… that would be all, do you agree? Any other suggestions? Frankly there is only Inquisitor that is not certain . Anything instead? Custodian? Too strong. Sister of silence? Too silent .
  5. Red Die Guy said: That Guard character looks like he has a bandana - Catachan perhaps? If so, nice! I think it's the Imperial Psyker.
  6. Are you kidding? I LOVE those minis! And I find it awesome they do not look like GW minis! I am truly looking forward to painting them, and the only question is: how big they are? The idea of busts is really brilliant, I like it a lot!
  7. My board lies flat for over a week now and nothing happens. Maybe because it took a little bit longer for the game to come to me (it got dried?). I had a faint feeling the board is a little bit wet (it had some moisture in it). As far as the plastic 3D terrain is concerned I was also a little bit dissapointed, especially that the drawings of them on the board looked so well... The plastic figures on the other hand look much better than I imagined. They are really very little and have so much detail. And are made of really hard plastic... The board itself also looks much, much better than I have imagined. It is full of tiny details. And, oh yeah, the cards. Also much nicer than on the pictures. So, reasuming, the plastic terrain is a little bit below expectations, and everything else is above... I am already thinking whether a little bit of drybrushing applied to the terrain would do something good...
  8. Warhammer, thank you for your explanation. If all the Palace areas are fortresses it explains a lot and makes things easier. So the Inner Palace, the one in the center is not any better than any of the other palace areas? I know it is in the center, so any palace attacker will have to force the first wall to get to the second, but, on the other hand, it is a pity that attacker who is in the Inner Palace and attacking outer palace area suffers - 2. When you look at the plastic palace, the Inner one looks higher... But I think it is as you explained. If it wasn't, game would be much more complicated.
  9. I tried to answer myself to the question above, and I think that maybe the Emperor and Traitor should subtract 1 point from the regular damage as if fighting over the breached fortification... Why? Because Emperor (outer palace) fighting forces that are in the plateau suffers no penalty but fighting against Horus in the Inner Palace does suffer 2 pts. The same is with the Traitor: the forces in the Inner Palace suffer no penalty, but the forces fighting from plateau do. Thus - 1 pt of regular damage for both sides. BUT When Horus and his troops perish in the Inner palace, then the imperial forces stop having any penalty (regardless that the game is over due to Horus' death). In this case the Traitor player has - 2 pts penalty (because he is only in the plateau) AND When the Traitor troops fighting from plateau are destroyed, then the Traitor player stops having any penalty. And the imperial forces start having -2 pts penalty. ANOTHER QUESTION: Are: Inner Palace, Imperial Fists Fortress Monastery and Forbidden Monastery fortified areas in comparison to outer palaces? In other words, do troops standing in outer palaces areas suffer - 2 pts penalty in regular damage when fighting forces stationed in the Inner Palace, Imperial Fists Fortress Monastery and Forbidden Monastery areas?
  10. I had a strange situation: Horus and some Chaos space marines were in the Inner Palace. Emperor with custodes was in one of the outer palaces. In the adjacent area of the plateau were some Chaos Marines again. The Traitor issued an Assault order from both areas - from the plateau and the inner palace. The Emperor and custodes were the target. I really don't know how to solve the fortifications problem. What to subtract and when???
  11. Jaeger, are you sure abandoning catacombs is a bad idea? Horus may descend from Spirit to Terra and fight there. Loosing the Ship is not loosing the battle... Actually in my last game I saw Horus running from the Emperor who tried to catch him on the Vengful. The Traitor escaped to the palace. It was quite fun .
  12. Many things are explained in the order and combat cards. It is hard to understand this game not having one in front of you.
  13. Okay, here's the photo: http://www.fotosik.pl/pokaz_obrazek/pelny/19e3c283bfe90083.html Pay attention to the base of the left and right Fulgrim (purple) Thunderhawks. The base on the right is drybrushed, the one on the left - is not.
  14. Okay, I'll make some photographs tomorrow and give you a link Alas, there will be poor comparison to the unpainted minis, since I have painted all. Well, there are two bases of thunderhawks, that I didn't accidentaly paint. It will have to do...
