  1. I did a search couldn't find the answers: 1) When playing Mimic it says to "activate" the chest and treat it as a Beastman. To me activating a creature means giving it an advance action. So, can I attack the Hero when he opens the chest then move away? Each turn can I continue to give the chest move/attack actions? 2) If someone gets hit by Scything Blades but negate the damage due to an item do they still get the Bleed token? 3) If someone is using the subterfurge skill allowing them to draw LOS from an adjacent square do they also count range from that square as well? Thanks : )

The_Warlock said: Hello everyone, 1) I've just learned that OL can't play Crushing Block Trap card if there's already a tile that block movement, in order to prevent him from sealing a portion of the Dungeon. What about big sized Monsters that are technically sealed in a room, as happened to Narthak in my first game? Have they some way to cross a Rubble tile and get out or must the OL avoid such situations? . From the question above it is apparent the OL must make sure not to block off sections of the dungeon via traps, ect. In the same vein, would you all agree that before the OL plays a trap card he have to ensure there is a legal adjacent space for a hero to be able to move to in case the Hero avoids a trap?
  3. 1) Rune Locked Doors- Can Heros who have found the key and opened the door , close it again? This would be a great strategy to keep Monsters from pouring into the Boss room while the adventurers are trying to win the game. 2) Telekenisis/Grapple-If a Hero is being grappled and the grappling Monster is targeted by Telekenisis will the grappled Hero move along with the Monster ? 3)Poisen-If a Hero has a number of poisen markers on him and he then acquires an item or ability that makes him immune to poisen, are the current markers discarded? Thanks

James McMurray said: By default, adding the new OL cards, and the slower flip that causes, is balanced by the use of treachery to make the OL deck more powerful so you're more likely to get a kill on each pass through. My advice would be to add everything in, and print this out. It's got double-sided reference sheets for the heroes and the overlord, as well as a bunch of other stuff that probably won't be needed (like stats for every hero). The actual rules content of the expansions is pretty small and mostly involves new gimmicks in the form of skills, familiars, and monster abilities. Unless the first session was a complete and utter rules disaster, the distance between vanilla and a game that runs all 3 expansions is pretty negligible (as long as it's the OL who knows the rules, since he's the only one that ever has to worry about the mechanics of treachery). James, in the WoD expantion it states to add the non-treachery OL cards to the base deck . Do you feel this is only when playing with the WoD expansion or is this ment to "fix" some problems with the standard deck like the revised cards were?
  5. Regarding Dodge: is the attack by the Hero automatically a miss or does the OL choose dice to have the Hero reroll?
  6. Anyone know if there is a list of how many of each monster type are included in JITD? Thanks.
  7. Hello All, I'm new to the forum and have a question that has come up in play regarding when the OL can play certain cards. For example, Aim and Dodge. Does the OL have to declare a monster's attack is aimed before he makes the roll or can he play it afterwards to attempt to modify a miss? I believe he has to declare the attack an 'Aim' before he rolls. Same with dodge-Does the OL declare a dodge before the Hero roles his attack or after the dice are rolled? I think he has to play dodge before the dice are rolled. Am I correct in the above assumptions? Thanks.
