Hey. Being Top 5 in your country is nothing to be ashamed of...
I once won a bronze medal in <insert very obscure team sport>. (never mind that there were only three teams competing)

The very last question was asking about any future Imperial Assault physical product. Andrew Navarro said they'd already discussed it at Star Wars Celebration, and that "At present, we're currently not developing any more physical product for Imperial Assault".
Interestingly though, he seemed to choose his words carefully and didn't outright state that there would be no more physical product. When people asked about Runewars and Star Wars Rebellion, he clearly stated he felt they were complete games and that they had no plans to make anything more for them. Who knows, when product development finds some space they could well develop that final Endor box we all hope for!

    Welcome to the club, @nicholaskillin
The IA:Core box, Return to Hoth, & Jabba's Realm all have app campaigns attached to them in the app. Many fans expect Heart of the Empire (the last of the big box expansions) to get an app campaign too at some point, and perhaps even the smaller boxed (but that's probably less likely).

But all expansions add content to the app-version of the game in the form of equipment cards + deployment cards & minies. In addition, the small figure boxes each also adds a new between-mission encounter for the app to chose from when selecting these "text encounters" for you to play, (at least, I THINK each figure box does this). So yeah, every expansion adds something to the app experience although some more than others. Adding, say... Hired Guns "unlocks" the Rodian mercenaries (figure & deployment card) for you to encounter + whatever equipment card that comes in the figure pack (can't remember which they are). On the other hand, adding the Stormtroopers box doesn't "unlock" any more Stormtroopers (since you already get those with the Core box), but it does add new equipment cards. And, as I said, I also THINK each figure box adds a new between-mission text encounter, although I could be wrong here.

    Hope that helps

Yes. See RRG for special situations regarding attacks.
Yes, the hero's abilities can be used, such as choosing the weapon to use, and other abilities that the hero can pay the cost for as long as they are related to the attack - including Ambush (with or without Covert).
Note that the class and item cards of heroes ready at the start of their activation, they do NOT ready during the ready step of the status phase. Thus, if the abilities are used during the hero's activation, they are not available during Embrace Suffering (End of Round step) (and once per activation abilities are not available because there is no activation happening).
There actually are not that many abilities that the imperial player could use provided the heroes can perform attacks during their activations.

Thanks for all the answers so far!
We have played the core box campaign about 5 years ago, and Twin Shadows a year after. I ve used the side missions for the Royal Guard Champion, and the Bantha Rider. I was the Imperial both times (and will be again), one of my players has extensive experience with the skirmish mode as of 3 years ago.
I own the Return to Hoth campaign as well, though I wanted to start smallish and see how interest holds with the new players. We have a TON of board games, but classic 1vAll dungeon crawlers have kind of disappeared recently, it seems.

The forced mission would occur immediately after the second mission of the campaign, before the upgrade stage.  It's one of the more difficult missions for the Rebels in the game.
Question for you: what's your experience level with the game?  Based on some of your questions it sounds like this will be your first campaign as the Imperial, or maybe first campaign at all.  If so, jumping in with a mini-campaign, at least without a learning session, could be a mistake.  I always recommend running Aftermath for a group of all new rebels.  It's a good mission to learn the basics.  After that you're good to shift straight into TS or BG if you want.

The app campaigns are still excellent games, and this is probably the only aspect of the physical games themselves they have not incorporated.

And is the reason why there is a chance to get two elite Stormtrooper groups at the same time.

For us idiots in the back of the classroom, could someone give a quick explanation of the difference between an app campaign mission and this raid mode of playing? Are the raids just like a single, non-campaign mission, so to speak? In any case, I'm excited

I imagine nothing would stop you from trying out.  You could use for instance Jedi Luke with a few command cards (to compensate for XP) and spend the credits on equipment like combat coat, portable medkit, ect  It could work ...

angelman2 reacted to a1bert in Any new missions coming to the app?
    The article distills it well:
Raid mode sees a team of two to four players selects their heroes from those available in their collection, then spend a limited amount of starting credits and XP. After launching a raid mode mission, players have six rounds to fend off Imperial forces while gathering intel spread across the map.
Gathering each piece of intel requires a specific attribute test, meaning a balanced team has the best odds of success. In order to put your name in the Hall of Legends, you’ll have to carefully balance defeating groups of enemies with gathering intel and making sure you can survive the full six rounds.

Although the article says 2-4 players, it really should say 1-4 players... Solo is a great way to get the Imperial Assault experience.
The raid mode does not have only attacking, so there are a lot of different hero combinations to try.

It's happening AGAIN!!  We are getting something "new" every week!  First the new FAQ which nerfed SC, last week, and now a new app mode (raid mode) and a new map made from TWO different small expansion boxes!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say we'll be getting a new wave of blister packs next week, (including 4-LOM and Zuckass, among others) and a new big box expansion the following week (based on Endor, with Ewoks of course).
(kidding, obviously, but nice to get something at least, and I'm happy with both the SC nerf and the raid mode)

Rumours of the death of Imperial Assault are greatly exaggurated!
Legion might be good at tabletop warfare (I wouldn't know) but it'll never provide the campaigns or tight combat provided by IA.

I’ve just started collecting after playing X Wing then Armada. I’m not that interested anymore in X Wing, but my son enjoys it so will keep playing (but probably not buying). Armada I will still collect, and I can see tons of fun going forward with IA. I think I’ve got about two years of purchasing ahead of me until I have what I think would be enough/minimum to keep playing it if I go competitive. If any new packs are released in the far future then great, but otherwise I’m still going to keep buying.
