  1. I'm not sure where these ideas that you can only move in one direction have come from, but they're completely false. You roll your die, and then choose where to go. Clockwise or counter-clockwise. It's entirely your choice. I have to admit that playing it the way you guys have makes it sound like a terrible game to play!
  2. With the Totem Staff your full compliment of spells is four while it's in your possession.
  3. We've had the following situation come up a few times in our games today and can't really decide how this sound work. Someone has a Horse and Cart, with near full capacity, and then encounters the Dungeon Keeper. He loses all of his followers and then has to drop items to reach his new item limit. Since the Dungeon Keeper is a number four, is he then able to pick up the items he dropped because they come later in the number sequence, or must he return to that space at a later point to encounter his old items. Also am I right in assuming that you can buy back your followers in the same turn you lose them? Cheers.
  4. Yeah, Oracle specifically refers to Dungeon cards. Think of Adventure card as a catchall category for any card, be it an actual Adventure card, Purchase or even Spell.
  5. Anything that refers to Adventure cards when in a side region is taken to refer to that region's deck. So dungeon cards in the dungeon, and highlands cards in the highlands.

  9. Is anyone able to put a screenshot up of the three new endings, please? I'm impatient! Thanks
  10. If the Valkyrie can ressurect the hieromartyr, does that not give her infinite lives?
  11. If the spell targets a creature rather than an Enemy (which relates to an Adventure/Dungeon card), then it's fine to cast it on the LoD.
  12. Well you can't draw a card if your character is dead!
  13. The upgrade kit changes a few spaces. Like the Desert and places where you can gain Fate. So the Desert spaces in the Revised edition say "Lose 1 life and then draw a card (if one isn't already there)". So you always lose a life and if you survive draw a card if possible.
  14. Yes it is. The Revised verisions reads: "You must taker her as a Follower. All other Followers immediately leave you - discard them. You may have no other Followers until you rid yourself of the Hag by visiting the Village Mystic (even if he ignores you). You may then discard her."
  15. Lol, it feels like we're trying to peek at presents on Christmas Eve!!
  16. I thought that card said "Eyes of the..." Looks like it might be a spell. Not sure.
  17. Yup that's a fan made card. One of the things I find annoying about BoardGameGeek is people tend to upload these fan made cards and then don't label them as such. Like in this instance. There are three alternate endings cards in Frostmarch though: Warlock Quests, The Ice Queen and Crown and Sceptre. There are also two downloadable ones from this website: Danse Macabre and The Crown of Command. There'll be three new ones in forthcoming Highlands expansion as well.
  18. I was just thinking about this but in relation to the object carrying Followers (Mule, Horse and Cart, Porter etc). Any surplus items you have, after losing one of these Followers, get place in the space you're on. I think it's a fair interpretation that the follower is carrying items for you in a similar way that the Bag is carrying some items for you. But you don't need to declare exactly what they're carrying, unlike the Bags. But then you only have to declare for the Bags since they offer protection, while the followers don't. Anything carried by a Mule, for example, is the same as anything carried by yourself, and just as vulnerable. I think that a fair and consistent rule would be that if you lose a Bag then the items it holds don't follow the Bag to its new owner or the discard pile. You just place surplus in the space you're on. That brings it inline with the Followers and doen't devalue the bag, nor makes it a double-edged sword. What do you guys and gals think?
  19. I think an official clarification would be useful, as this issue could be quite contentious.
  20. The Concealed Pouch doesn't mention anything about losing the object stored inside if the Pouch itself is taken. The FAQ says, in relation to the Shatter spell, that you should leave any surplus objects in the space should you lose the Pouch. So it would seem to suggest that if you lose the Pouch you still keep whatever was stored inside. With the two bags, I believe if you lose them, either by the bag being destroyed or taken somehow, then you lose whatever is stored inside as well. That seems harsh but in all fairness there arn't that many spells or cards which can target the bag. And even then it's an assumption that the bag will be targeted by them. The Trickster can only be used within the same region anway, and as more side boards are added there's, probably, less chance people will share the same region as often. Shatter may be better used on another item depending upon the game situation, a Talisman for example. As a side issue, when you roll for Whirlwind would you roll a bag as if it, and its contents, were one item. For example, if you keep the bag you also keep the items inside without rolling for them individually. Or would you roll for the bag and if it's lost send all the items contained inside with it, but if it's kept you then roll for each item inside to see if you keep it or lose it? Is that example clear enough?
  21. He was in the 2nd edition as well. But as a City card.
  22. Croonos said: The Highland has 168 small (142 Higlands, 12 Adventure, 10 Spells, 4 Relics) cards the same as Dungeon (128 Dyndeon, 10 Adventure, 20 Spells, 10 Treasures) but in different loactions. It gives a hope that in future expansions would appear more Dungeon cards... Bonus is that Highland include one more character and 3 alt. enging cards and I think it is a good idea. Further expansion should have more stuff than past one to keep high selling level. I can not wait for HQ image of the box back to see the board details cos it looks great. It's possible the Highland deck will include a Dungeon Door card, which will add some cross boardness.
  23. I suppose it's possible the other two will be the Crown of Command and Danse Macabre, or one of them maybe. Would be nice to have some "official" printed versions. But new stuff's even better
  24. I would imagine that FFG have the right to use Warhammer stuff only within a certain context, so in this case in whatever their Warhammer game is (sorry I don't know its name off hand). They'd need to get additional rights to extend that license to other games I imagine. Which would cost and probably not add anything additional to Talisman, after all you just be using certain names and titles. Skaven for example. They could always do a Rat Man character... I think the Dark Cultist was intended to replace the old Chaos Warrior.
  25. Cynewulf said: EvilEdwin said: You don't need to fight another character to use the Sorcerer's ability. Just land on them, encounter them and take the follower. The same works for the Thief and Merchant. Mmmmh.... not really sure about this. The Sorceress' card reads "from a character you land on"; and we already know that "land on" means "encounter". I think that you MUST fight OR beguile a character to steal a Follower. If you look at the flow chart on the rear of the rulebook under the section "Encounter Character", it says you can either fight him (battle or psychic) or use a special ability. So a Sorcerer can either Beguile the character or take a follower as a special ability. The follower ability has the same wording as the Thief's ability for stealing objects. So by your reasoning the Thief would have to attack the character in order to use his stealing ability. That doesn't really sound very thief like.
