With the Tumbling Boulder on a roll of 2 - 6 does the Boulder then remain on the new space to be encountered again on a future turn? In essence, does it keeps tumbling until someone rolls a 1 when encountering it? I know it doesn't explicity say to discard it, but most Events are discarded after their effect expires.

Add me as well. I've got a bunch of two player games logged. -
Question: Dunhere's Speacial Attack
EvilEdwin replied to SlayerOfAllEnemies's topic in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game
Dunhere can only attack when characters can normally attack, i.e. when resolving player attacks. Unless you play a card that allows him to attack some other time, such as Quike Strike. -
spirit said: Is there not a song card in journey to rhosgobel? Nope. It seems in each expansion there are ten new cards. One Hero. Two cards for each sphere. And one neutral card. The neutral card for JTR is Radagast.

The print on demand stuff has a different finish to the factory printed stuff. So you'll always be able to tell the difference. With the Mansions of Madness print on demand scenario, they reprinted all appropriate cards from the main set so they're wouldn't be any difference. You can't really do that with Talisman A friend of mine is a graphic designer, so I had him print off the the two extra endings. They're similar enough to the factory printed ones, although he laminated them so they don't blend in at all! That's not too bad though since we lay out the endings on the table and roll two dice to find which we get anyway. Still it's a little annoying, and since he took his own time to do them I can't really ask him to do them again. You could try to find a shop that prints wedding stationary and that sort of thing. They might be able to print them for you, although they might not do a run so small and I've no idea how much it would cost. Stopping now, since I've wandered off-topic a little!

He gets the +1 when he attacks an enemy in the staging area, which he can only do alone.

Feint ruling question.

The shadow card stays until all attacks have been finished, even if it no longer has an effect. -
Here comes the questions, after one game...
EvilEdwin replied to DrNate's topic in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game
I don't think you draw another card after you resolve a Treachery. I just had a look and couldn't see that rule. -
I'm a little curious as to when exactly the Beastmaster receives his extra Shadow card. Is it after his attack has been resolved? If so, does he get a Shadow card dealt face up and therefore this extra card only has any effect if a player attacks the Beastmaster in return, rather then when a player is defending.

Ah of course. That makes perfect sense. I thought the number was related to the size of the sleeves! Thanks for the answer.
-
Is there a mistake in the product section for which card sleeves you need? The core set says you need number 5, while the expansions say you need number 2? Is this an error? /confused!

What if there are two cards with the same encounter number already in the space? Do you choose the order then? I'm specifically thinking of two Place cards, one positive, one negative. If the positive card had a teleport or moved you X spaces, would I be able to choose that one first with the hope of circumventing the negative Place?

loken14 said: yea a spirit board in a fantasy setting with rules similar to timescape would be cool but timescape i believe was just too un fantasy and breaks the flow of the game I think the Timescape was mostly a method for Games Workshop to crowbar in aspects from some of their other franchises, such as the Space Marine.

Old Master said: Might be that you are right but I would be more willing to bet on the Dragon Tower board expansion. I'm not so sure there will be a Dragon Tower expansion. Remember with the 3rd edition the Inner Region was completely different from the other editions, being replaced by the Tower. Now of course FFG could do the same again, but I'm skeptical that is will be the case.

Would you ever throw away the Talisman boxes? A storage question.

EvilEdwin replied to Butterfli_beauty's topic in Talisman
They're your boxes so it's really up to you what you do with them! I've got all of the expansions in the core game box, but I had to remove the plastic container from it. However, next time there's an expansion with a board I'll have to use a second box I think. -
It's quite simply really. If you want to take the Familiar as a Follower, you immediately lose a life as payment. It's exactly the same as giving the Mercenary a gold for him to become your Follower, except this time the cost is a life. I'm afraid in this instance your wife's interpretation was wrong.

He said the Reaper can never be moved to the Inner Region. I think that covers everything

Velhart asked the same question to John Goodenough about a year ago. Here's the answer from John: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=129&efcid=1&efidt=273156&efpag=0#273192

I can't really see the new City board being that difficult to create. If you think of the Dungeon board, but instead of it being one long line think of it as a circle, starting and finishing at the entrance. The shops could be along the middle line section, or easily interwoven along the top and bottom lines for wiggly streets. I think it will be pretty easy to create overall.

There's a list of all four of the "upgrade" characters here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/178241/talisman-city I really hope they improve and tidy them up a little. Many of their abilities target specific cards from other expansions which you might not own or want to use. I'd like to see them made a little more useful with more generic and usable abilities. Equally though, I'd like them to be better then the ones that were featured in the 3rd Edition. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/149113/talisman-3rd-edition-city-of-adventure http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/149112/talisman-3rd-edition-city-of-adventure It would also be nice to have a way of stripping a player of his upgrade. Instead of making them a upgraded character, maybe their could be a Title card instead which adds the extra abilities. Just a thought. I'd also like to see new upgrades in future expansions as well. Like the Champion of Chaos, but ones that are actually good! The ones from White Dwarf 115 really were terrible! http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/671779/talisman-2nd-edition-white-dwarf-115-cards

Unless FFG has a surprise for us, I imagine it will be the City or the Forest. As much as I'd like it to be the City next, I'm curious what they'll do with it since I thought the 2nd Edition City was largely a mess, I expect it will be the Forest.

Inner region transference card!!!!PLEASE HELP
EvilEdwin replied to kosyan's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
Cruan said: Are you sure about CoC being a part of the inner region, in my head I always approached it as a stand-alone space, not a part of the IR, so effects of the transference for example werent legit.. It's in the FAQ that you can do it. -
It's in the FAQ. The Reaper must teleport to any space, in any region bar the Inner, once he lands on the Lord of Darkness. The FAQ is dated before the release of the Highlands, but presumably the rule still holds for the Eagle King.
