  1. Definitely need to add this to the library. Love the airship theme. Love the artwork. Mal would approve.
  2. I love them all. Euros, Ameritrash, wargames, party games... so keep in mind that I'm not as nit picky as a lot of you. But I feel this game is under rated. The main complaint I have heard is "there is nothing new here". Well I would say there's nothing new in the majority of games out there. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy them. I don't want to play the same game every day. Even if the games are just slightly different in feel or look, it's better than playing the same old thing. Once again, that's just my opinion. And my opinion is that this is a pretty solid and enjoyable game.
  3. My current game group is called the "Ventura County Strategy Board Game Meetup". I figure this might just have to be our signature game. I'll be adding it to the collection just for the name alone. I currently live in Ventura County and know many gamers in the county. Not to mention that it looks like a great game. I'm sure there are other "Venturas" across the world. Chime in!
  4. ...either way, I'll be picking this up. Fast 2 player games are easy to get to the table.
  5. It doesn't look like the world of Blue Moon as far as characters and artwork are concerned but there's that same dragon. Those dragons seem to get around. Maybe they can fly through space to other worlds. Perhaps some day when the event center puts on a Blue Moon event... this game could be included in the schedule.
  6. Still lookig for players in the Ventura or Los Angeles area.
  7. I'm half way through it. I'm loving it!
  8. Thanks for the replies! I have picked up Horus Rising and I just started reading it. It's definitely sucking me in.
  9. I am not an avid reader but I'm reading more these days than I used to. I'm sure I have about a dozen half read books next to my bed with bookmarks gathering dust. I was at Borders the other day and gathered together about 8 Horus Heresy books and contemplated purchasing at least the first few... then I put them down and used my 30% off coupon to finally purchase Warhammer Invasion. My question is: If I am going to start reading some Warhammer... and I plan on picking up Horus Heresy (the game), should I start with these books. Or perhaps there is a better series to start with???
  10. I haven't checked back on here since the OP... I'm in Simi Valley but will travel a bit.
  11. Oh, I wish I could have been there. I would have loved to win Runewars!!! I wish there was someplace like this in California. I'm so jealous!
  12. Torbal said: I had heard elsewhere that this is due to be on the shelves very soon; I would not be surprised to see it by end of March. That would be wonderful. FFG is sucking my wallet dry.
  13. I love the look of the box, board and especially the card artwork. These were obviously created by Mike Doyle. I'm a big fan of his game art. I'm assuming this is the first game that he has done for FFG. Looks like a good fit to me. Way to go FFG. I can't wait to see this game in person. It says that the Eagle and the Lion is the first in a series? I wonder if there will be more full size boxes or just smaller expansions. The box looks somewhat like a large bookshelf game.
  14. Both of them are lots of fun. I think Drakon is more accessible for non-gamers though. Cavetroll can feel a little puzzle like to me sometimes. Especially with 2 players.
  15. I sooooo wish FFG was homebased in California. I'd be there for every event.
