There was someone who made an automatic loot table on the interwebs. One click of a button, and you could see what the bad guys had with them, ranging from crappy stuff to less crappy stuff (with some interesting things that could lead to new adventures). But unfortunately, it seems to be gone so I'm hoping someone will find the time to make something similar again.

    There's a random table here if folks want loot, WFRP-style : http://www.windsofchaos.com/wp-content/uploads/encroachment/html/generator-random-treasure-01.html

Well, given that I and my RP group are but one of the groups playtesting Rogue Trader products at present, there is nothing to worry about.

Mill remind me to break into your house.

You can't get me to talk! There's nothing you can do that the FFG ninja won't do to me if I talk.

Plus, you know, NDAs and legal teams, all that jazz.

But yes, RT is being worked on. Don't worry about that! gui%C3%B1o.gif

Awesome news.  I figured they wouldn't announce something until folks like you made sure it was quality stuff.   So...without giving away any details...how awesome is the stuff you're play-testing?

The Upcoming page for the GM Toolkit for Rogue Trader has been changed from on the boat to shipping, so that book should be available soon...

hope so. any word when it will be out?babeo.gif

If I had to bet, I'd guess that they will start showing up in retail stores later this week.  To put it another way, get your order in at your FLGS now.

Are there new party types in teh adventurers' toolkit?

    jh

    Yes.

I'm not sure how many are provided, but there was a recent post which detailed contents and party sheets were amongst them...

EDIT:  I'm having a hard time finding that post - so I'll have to defer until somebody official responds.

I was quite sure I'd seen it somewhere...

...but then again, knowing me, I could'a been mistaken.

    EDIT #2:  http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=93&esem=2

According to the product listing, there's 4 new party sheets in the Adventurer's Kit.

    Whew....not being insane is a relief.  ;)

Will there be, packs where if I want to create a campaign in Sylvania, full of Undead stand up cut outs,   crypt, cemetary, vampire castle cut outs etc?

Like... Von Carstiens Revenge: The GM Toolkit bumper pack  TM :)

Vampire Castle locations: Crypt, Library, Throne Room, Cemetary, Torture Chamber, Posh Bedroom :)

1  Vlad Von Carstien :   Looking devilishly handsome                Stand up cut outs

1 Isabella Von Carstien: Smoking goth hot

1 Vlad Von Carstien: Really pizzed off fang fury version

    10  WIghts

    10 Zombies

    10 Skeletons

    3 Vampire Thralls

10 Sylvanian Peasants with pitchforks and torches

1 Out gunned Priest of Morr

Can we expect to see products like this or in a simular VEIN    :)   oh,   pun intended.

I LOVE this idea.  I know that a full bestiary is what most expect and want, but with the addition of special cards and cutouts, I think breaking it down by monster types is a great way to do it.

I'd want: Undead, Greenskins, Skaven, Mutants, Chaos, Beastmen, Giants & Trolls, Dark Elves, Monsters, and Daemons boxes.

Being a completionist - I'd have to get 'em all (hint, hint).

    Great idea!

It is available here in central TX (aka the eye of terror).  Just picked up my copy yesterday and from just a quick glance through it I am impressed.

I picked mine up today as well.  Likewise, I was very impressed with the book.  The art and format seems like it's the best book yet from an art/production standpoint.  I haven't read nearly enough to comment on the new features, but *dang* it's a pretty book.

    1) Where can I find the home brew character sheet that is supposedly available on these forums?

    2) The difficulty of all types of healing checks are based on the severity of the injury.....so do you use the default difficulties from  Resilience checks for all healing checks? 1d easy for wounds and 2d average for crits?

    3) Have FF mentioned ever making the books available outside the core set? I am sure some of my players would want the rulebook at least.

    4) Has FF announced any plans for having the books available in PDF form?

    5) Any idea when the extra dice sets and Adventurer's Toolkit will be available?

    6) Any plans on a GM screen yet?

    7) What is the MAX number of PLAYERS you can can support with just the core set...I know if it designed for 3 players and the GM but is this the MAX that can be done with the core set?

Thanks in advance to you all!

3:   Not yet, but the game has only been available in stores for about 5 days, so they really wouldn't mention selling something that would hurt the sales of the boxed set this soon.  I'm sure that once new supplements are in stores, the core books will be made available.

    4:   See #3

5:   The Adventurer's Toolkit, according to my FLGS, should be out in December.  The upcoming portion of this site says it's on the boat - so probably 3 weeks or so....

6:   I'm not sure they're going to make one (and I'm not sure that they won't).  Several players have mentioned that the way that the dice work really makes a GM screen counter-productive.  Everything's out in the open in this game.  If anything, there might be an official GM reference booklet???  (<- pure speculation).

7:  The game is designed to be comfortably used by 1 GM and 3 players.  It can easily be used by 1 GM and 4 players.  It can functionally be used with 1 GM and any number of players with card and dice sharing - much like any RPG.

Well it looks like good news ... but it is also bad news for local game shops that cannot compete on price.

I just hope the game industry isn't causing the local game shops to go out of business by giving deep discounts to online retailers.

I actually cancelled my Amazon pre-order and bought from a retail store.  I paid a little more ($74 vs. $63), but I'll get it MUCH sooner (probably by Friday) and I know the store owner and his commitment to customer service.  I was also worried about Amazon holding my order until they could combine it with the Adventurer's Kit (which, last I checked, wasn't being shipped yet).  Getting it Friday vs. 12/11 (Amazon's estimated delivery date) was worth $10 to me....

I'm not saying that Amazon is bad, not at all  - I just feel a little better buying it from one of the 'little guys'.

  9. I think it's a bad idea too.

What they should do is integrate the two forums.  Certainly it would be 3e-centric as FFG is in the business of selling the product they're responsible for creating.  However, there's too many 2e resources that are going to be vital for filling gaps in the 'fiction' until 3e supplements can be released.  Those that have fully embraced 3e can certainly use and share campaign ideas with our 2e brethren - the fiction is fully compatible.

There's room in the 3e forum to include 2e ideas, thoughts, opinions and whatnot.   Rethink this FFG, and bring the groups together...don't wedge us apart.

  10. All too often on various boards we're primed to complain about anything that we don't like, but rarely do folks say anything when somebody does right by you.

Well, Fantasy Flight did right by me and I appreciate it very much.

They stand by their products and they care about their consumers.  I purchased a book, Creatures Anathema, which unfortunately had a defect.  I suspect they could have simply told me to go back to the retailer and get a refund or whatever...

...instead they had a Customer Service employee contact me and he arranged a replacement.

The employee, Thaad, was very helpful and courteous, and got the replacement to me quickly.

I've never dealt with a RPG company that has been more customer-oriented than Fantasy Flight.  You've reinforced my loyalty to your products and to your company.

Thank you and much success to you with all of your product lines-

    Jason

I'm wondering how accurate Amazons esimated delivery date of 12/2 is. On the one hand, FFG still lists this as "at the printer". On the other hand, even though The Emperor's Decree is being billed as a pre-release event, I can't imagine that FFG would want too much time to elapse between the event and the game being available for sale. You want the product available while people are still excited about if from the demo. If too much time elapses, their enthusiasm potentially wanes and/or they get distracted by/spend their money on something else. Certainly they need to get this out in time to have it available during the Christmas shopping season. I'm surprised FFG hasn't given us a more definative release date yet.

Actually FFG has the Core set listed as shipping:  http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=942

The Adventurer's Kit is still listed as "on the boat".

The dice, oddly enough, are listed as "at the printer".  I would have thought that they'd be the easiest thing to mass-produce, package and ship.  There's no binding, no offset printing, minimal packaging (AFAIK)...  but then again, they're running a successful biz - and I'm not  lengua.gif

  12. Pre-ordered Core and Adventurer's Kit from Amazon over a month ago (10/18).

My estimated ship date is 12/4.

I'm just hoping that they honor pre-orders by the date that they were placed.  I read some horror stories about a videogame pre-order (Dragon Age, I believe) where they filled the orders alphabetically according to the poster.  I take that with a grain of salt, but apparently he could walk around Gamespot and Toys R Us and see the game everywhere - but he still couldn't get a firm ship date from Amazon.

Here's to hoping the experience is a good one...   I really don't NEED the game it until late December when I head out to Arizona to play it with some buddies...but I'd like to get it around the shipping date so I can read it and run a test game or two...

  13. I haven't played the game yet - mostly just following it here and elsewhere...  but can't a player, if they really want to duplicate a maneuver, use a Fortune Point to speed up a cool down?  Can they accept a fatigue or two to do the same?

I don't know the answer - I'm just curious if there's options in the RAW that provide for speeding up cooldowns for those that really need to get in some quick backstabs?

    Happy Birthday Jaysin1414.

The game sounds great especially for small groups which suits me down to the ground, as 4E falls down if you don't have the five players and GM.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! gran_risa.gif

I'd asked FFG to send me a free copy for the big day - but I guess they need to run a profitable business and all that gui%C3%B1o.gif

  15. I haven't got the game yet - and can't make any of the demos (which sucks, since there's one about 3 miles away), but I think Cyclone's house-rule sounds like a pretty awesome idea, especially if it made his group go from thinking the game was okay, but overloaded with crap - to really liking the game. It works for them, so in some regards it's already a success.  Depending upon one's game group, there are going to be situations (or players) where laying out cards and putting tokens on them isn't the most ideal situation, and might prove to be a big distraction to the game.  I'd love to see this house-rule expanded upon, myself...

That being said, what Dvang brought up about the costs of the abilities and being able to spam a favored power also makes sense.  Maybe the idea, as first presented, throws off the play-balance a bit.

I'm guessing with a bit of fine-tuning, Cyclone's houserule might streamline the game for folks that don't want the fiction part of the game to be interrupted by the resource management portion of the game.  That may not be a problem for everyone - but to those for whom the thought of removing themselves from roleplaying even for a moment to add/subtract tokens sounds painful, it sounds like a great solution.  I know that I hate playing with minis because I find that they have a tendency to take players out of the game.  I'm guessing Cyclone feels the same about the tokens on cards.

Warhammer is certainly big enough to accommodate differing play-styles.  I'm encouraged that folks are already finding ways to customize it to fit the needs of their gaming groups.

Kudos Cyclone...  and Dvang.   Great ideas and concerns.  I bet the house-rule is a tweak or two from being a great alternative...

...and welcome to the boards Cyclone.  aplauso.gif

any hope of Grail or Questing Knights?

The designers have talked about some mysterious Project Thunderbolt that they're currently play-testing.  Now Thunderbolt makes me think Thor, which makes me think Norsemen, which makes me think the adventure is set in Norsca...

However, I'd think it's a safe bet that there will be expansions that cover all of the popular spots in Warhammer mythos - and most of the popular character types.

I hope that they cover some of the regions not covered by 2e.  That way the fluff from those expansions could be used by 2e vets as well as the 3e converts.
