  1.  Giving me tokens, cards and funny looking dice is more likely to distract either me or my players from the real grit of RPG's.

For some (usually beginner) players, even character sheets can be distracting. gui%C3%B1o.gif

I'm DMing a D&D4e campaign since december, and we are using cards made by us for abilities, monsters, and small pieces of papers for conditions. It came naturally to use them, since it speeds up gameplay. The few tables we need are also on a paper sheet. Can't tell you when was the last time I had to open the PHB/DMG/MM for information.

  2. Albion is exists. Giantslayer takes place in Albion, and it was also mentioned in several books.

As for the races, maybe it would have been better to use the Laurelorn wood elves and Marienburg sea elves as the core elf races. I think they fit better in an imperial adventuring party, than their Ulthuan/Athel Loren kin. Gnomes disappeared, retconned, they are no longer part of the WHF canon.

Zoats and Fimir: I heard somewhere, that their creators holds the rights to use them, who no longer works for Games Workshop.

    What I want:

    Beastiary

    Priest Book

Martial book (featuring a few more action cards and alot more combaty careers for rank 3 and beyond)

Books for Brettonia, Kislev, Estalia, Tilea and such.

More playable races and more options for currently existing races. (halflings and high elf magic and dwarf rune smithing)

    Completely agree.

Bestiary: We will get some nasties in the Winds of Magic, so I think future supplements will also hold some, but a real, compiled basic Bestiary with monster cards would be nice. I don't want to buy seperate books for Skaven, Greenskin, Undead, etc...

Priest Book: A must have. Maybe they should also include dwarven, elven deities, and one of the Chaos gods, like Tzeentch in the Winds of Magic (ie. Slaneesh would be nice).

Martial Book: We Need F*cking Knights! And mounted combat, mount cards, etc... Shall include another Chaos god - Khorne is a quite martial guy, he would fit like a glove.

Setting Books: Can wait... First we need enough material about the whole empire, including the other men, dwarfs of the Empire, Laurelorn and Sea elfs (to be honest, they would have been better in the core book, than Athel Loren and Ulthuan elves, especially if you're focusing on the Reikland), halflings and maybe ogres.

  4.  I still haven't bought the game yet, for two reasons:
-We're in the middle of a 4e campaign, and I'm also planning a Swords & Wizardry sandbox, plus exams are coming.
-I always wait one year after it's release before buying a game, because usually after the first year, the game will have it's most important expansions out, and it's "mostly complete". Also, it's really frustrating, when right in the middle of the campaign an expansion comes out, with stuff that the GM or the PCs wanted to have at the beginning.

Well, I talked to FFG and they confirmed some shmoe at the printers did, in fact, just write in the freaking book. So they're sending me a new one.

Bad idea. Wait a few years, and your book could be sold at higher price on NobleKnight on ebay. Believe me, there will be some, who would pay more for a unique, signed WFRP, because they are rare.

  6. Foreword: a Druidess? Will they maybe make a return? Or the rest of the priests?
First shadow: The Gathering Storm - this was a no brainer.
Second shadow: More toolkits. But who is that Nemesis? Maybe the GM? Assistance for both players and GMs perhaps. I hope Knights are included.
Third shadow: Magic companion, yeah! But what is the broken wheel in the middle?
    Fourth shadow: Bestiary. Cool

With all the negative opinions surrounding this game...

The negative opinions are natural with the release of a new game, but what really count are the positive feedbacks after the release of the game. And so far the reviews were quite positive about the new WFRP.

Total joke of course, we love the game, but I do seem to manage a whole lot of chits and mini-cards and chits that go on mini cards and big cards, and character sheets.

Well, you are the GAME master, so it's natural you will do stuff with game elements. ;) This is, where the difference is between Dungeon Master, Game Master, Storyteller, Referee and Judge.

Still, jokes aside, if those chits make your life easier, then it's okay. I'm a bit old-school, but I got used to the thought of using them, thanks to positive reviews. We alredy used cards in D&D4e for conditions and powers, and we used cheat sheets and screens before, so there's nothing new under the sun, just the form is this different this time.

I think the FAQ/Errata is unavoidable.  D&D had something like  25 pages within the first month..we're only to 7.

Don't forget that D&D is quite rules heavy, at least compared to WFRP3, so there's more stuff to find errors in - many of them weren't really errors, just changing the wording of the text to make it 100% clear. Still, there were games with much more errata issues (like T4, or the previous edition of HackMaster).
