    I still have 12 to go :(

    Been doing them with the kids, not too bad a job, but only a parent could really appreciate them. My daughters job on the Prophetess was great but she looked like she got punched in the face by the Troll! It's the eyes, she had a big black eye.  I had to do a little reconstructive surgery... lol

     1. There are two spaces in the outer region that you role a 1d6 with different outcomes.  Dont have the board in from of me but it something like 1 - fight monster, 2-3 get lost loose turn, 4-5 safe 6 get escorted out, gain a Craft/Strength. If there is a card on this space (Object) to pick up, must I encounter the space 1st, ie role.  The way I played this is that I must encounter the space 1st (need to role), and I could only pick up the card if I won in the battle or was safe or escorted out. If I lost a turn, could pick up the object.

     

    2. On the last space of the dungeon, when you beat the dark lord, since he's > 7 strength, do you gain a strength or craft? I didn't take it because he's not a card.

     I bought the Black Industries 4th edition, applied the excellent sticker revision to the board from Van and with the 4th edition upgrade pack and it's perfect.

    The pros are that we have the cardboard players which the kids love (me as well) and the minitures from the expension. It was also cheaper.

    The cons are the attribute numbered squares were not replaced with the cones and the Black Industries box does not fit the new cards.  The problem was solved (or got worse) when I got the Reaper and Dungeon expansions, had to take the insert out of the box and was able to put everthing into the Dungeon box (both boards)

    Also, on the topic of the boards, both boards are very large, both are impressive.  I can barely fit the BI board with the dungeon expansion on the table as it is, let alone when more expansion come available.  The size of the board I do not believe to be a facture (and is not a problem with the dungeon board either, fits nice).

    I have no regrets getting the BI edition

    I tried the expension sets with the kids last night and got the Dark Cultist.  I couldn't believe how powerfull her special ability was! Unfortunately, her stats didn't go up as fast as I hoped because I kept getting spells and with only a craft of 3, only could hold 1.... Kids had to go to bed, so we all ran into the dungeon for the 1st time and it was a slaughter.  Monsters out of the ying yang, 2 space with 3 monsters and the reaper was closing in. I was down to 1 life before we had to call it quits for bed. It was funny when we got near the lord of darkness, the kids saw his stats and turned and ran in the other direction...toward the Reaper waiting near the entrance...good fun!

    Hi Rick,

    I just got the 4th edition BI and the expansion set.  I would love to have the Reaper and Dungeon set but I'm planning to pace myself.  I don't seem to have the same concerns as you do.  I'm certain there will be plenty of stock later on and I'll be hoping for a birthday and/or X-Mas present this year.  Got a big game planned on Saturday and its going to be great.

    Someone had mentioned about the resurgence of Talisman, and I have to agree.  I don't know if someone is tapped into into my subconcious, but I woke up one Saturday morning, remembered Talisman, thought the kids would love it, checked on-line, found it on sale and the deal was sealed.  And the upgrade kit was out of stock later that night.....Fate?
