  1. I think you shouldn't be worry about this. Rulebook says:

Only 1 player can marshal cards (i.e., play cards from his hand to the play area by paying the printed gold cost on the card) at a time, but other players can still take “Marshalling:” or “Any Phase:” actions as usual.

Rogue, did you already played vs someone with 3 of these 0 gold cost/non unique locations on the table? -3 power per turn, how can you possibly deal with that?

Look, I'm not saying this is ok. In fact I would be glad if it get errata (I hate Lannisters happy.gif). But it is possible to have 3 "Besieged Shipyard" and only 1 win = same effect.

All I'm saying is that is hard to believe that it went through playtesting (FFG have playtesters, right?), but I will be happy if I'm wrong.

  3. Yes, I agree it is powerful, very powerful. But seems to me that FFG wanted it that way (it's hard to believe that they forgot that House card is in play). Or maybe LetsGoRed is right and it is simply a mistake and intented to be winter only?

These will never happen without one last chance to use Player Actions. Again, there is a sportsmanship/courtesy line here (e.g. "Anyone want to do anything before I declare my next challenge? No? Well I have no more challenges, so the phase ends") that shouldn't be abused. It's not nice to use someone's ignorance of timing technicalities against them. ~ Trust me, I know. ;)

That's what I thought. Also, I played SWCCG for many years, so I'm aware of these timing/sportsmanship problems happy.gif

Maybe challenges chart should be changed for clarity (by adding "player action" window just before phase end) to avoid arguments described by Laban Shrewsbury?

This is true and the ultimate answer.

Ok, but challenges chart is much trickier. Imagine situation:

1 Last player (now active) declares a challenge (his first in this phase) - framework

    2 Player actions

3 Defending player kneels defenders - framework

    4 Player actions

    5 Challenge resolves - framework

Now, the last player says "I'm finished with challenges".

6 Active player is finished with challenges - framework

7 End of phase - framework

Is it right? I don't think so.

I reckon there's no way to just skip the player action phase

I'm sure you are right, but I'll wait for ktom's explanation.

"Active Player declares he has no more actions that cost gold." I think that this not an option and can be a little confusing.

Same problem is with challenges chart. If last player is finished with challenges, then there is a player action window, even though there is no next active player. But I may be wrong here.

  7. I'm waiting eagerly for some promised news about "Princes of the Sun" and this expansion is not at the "Upcoming" section, so I wonder:

    a) it is not at concept stage yet

    b) they forgot to put it there

    c) it will be pack of reprints, so no concept or development is needed

    d) ?

  8. I've read all ideas and want to ask:

    What's wrong with chapter packs?

Why do you want bigger box and thus bigger price?

Even Martell pack could be done in a form of chapter packs (2 or more). Of course FFG prefer to make it in a form of starter deck, because of marketing, but theoreticaly it still can be achieved.

What's wrong with Night's Watch or Wildling or "anything" chapter packs?

And premium card packs or "plastic sun pack" cards? No thanks, that's not the idea of LCG.

I'm trying to avoid any major spoilers on the card for the book series, is there anything that will do that?

There is one Lannister event in Core Set, but it will be very hard to avoid looking at...

Also, there is Targaryen character in Epic Battles chapter pack which spoils a little surprise, but you will soon finish "A Storm of swords" so no problem here I think.
