If you have a couple of cards in play that have Renown, and a couple that do not: If I initiate a challenge, and win it, with a character that does not have renown...do all of my Renown guys still get power counters? Or, do I have to win a challenge with a Renown character, and then all of the other renown characters and that character get power counters?

    From rulebook:

If you win a challenge (either as attacker or
defender), each of your participating characters
with the “Renown” keyword claims 1 power
    after the challenge resolves.

but then since your opponent has none, you take from the power pool?

No. Also, you should read about infamy keyword gui%C3%B1o.gif

I don't think that companies should be too scared of this. Nothing can compare to playing in person.

    So true!

Gualdo, I've read somewhere that there is unofficial agreement that you can't use card images if they are not half year old. So I'm not sure if FFG guys will be happy with this.

Maester wendamyr: can he kneel to save himself then stand after kneeling 2 influence and kneel again save another character for claim 2 challenges as well as mass kill/discard effects?

    Yes.

if a character's strength is zero can that character still initiate a challenge?

    Yes.

what happens when a card with duplicates gets sent back to your deck (ie raven effect) can you discard a dupe to prevent that from happening?

    Yes.

     Sithlord Threadkiller said:

    Is a duplicate an attachment?

    No.

if dany's handmaiden has rhaegar's harp attached can she discard the raven attachments when she leaves play?

    Yes.

    Sithlord Threadkiller said:

what are some nonraven cards per se that can potentially dislodge a raven attachment?

I think only Harp and Old Nan.

Condemned by the Realm. You choose an opponent, and then both you and that player choose a character to kill.

That wouldn't be that stupid. This plot is worse - you are killing your character.

But this shouldn't be treated as a flaw of Core Set. If you play a joust, then you can (you should) customize plot decks.

Also, you will spend around $90-$120 when a new Core Set or Expansion is released (there have been 2 releases in 1 year so far).

@divinityofnumber: this game is very affordable (just one chapter pack release per month). Above expansions mentioned are just House Greyjoy and Martell "starters" and you shouldn't expect 2 expansions per year in the future.

  6. Just to avoid more confusion in this topic (ktom must be sleepy or something gui%C3%B1o.gif):

assuming it resolves and isn't a tie - in those cases, there is no winner and no loser

In case of tie attacker wins.

    ktom said:

If the defender loses a challenge and the attacker had more participating characters with the Deadly keyword, that losing player must choose and kill a participating defending character

Deadly is independent of challenge result.

  7. BTW If save by Wendamyr was not successful (canceled), then he cannot use second part (stand that character) of his ability.

But what is considered successful or not in the case of  Compelled by the North? If there are no defending characters on table, then we treat this as a failure, correct? (thus no standing for Stark characters with Banner)

Regarding LCG "philosophy", it has been the case from the get-go that Chapter Packs are a one time printing. Eventually they'll sell out and, unless FFG changes its plans, you won't be able to buy some Packs that others might own.  That's no different than a new version of the Core Set.

Well, Asylum packs are reprinted now. Besides, if game is successful it would be weird not to reprint.

    2) How is a new core Set against the LCG Philosophy?

If they change the set of cards, that means that some of them are not available anymore, thus not every player is equal.

As a matter of fact with all the people on here who talk about new reprints updating the Core Set to a version 2 makes a lot of sense.

Well, that people already possess CS. Nobody asked potential players lengua.gif
