  1. ktom said: the Royal Guard could end up as a dupe on a non-unique character with the Noble crest Really? That seems wrong. What about this in rulebook? Duplicates may only be played on unique cards that you control and own.
  2. Lars said: Whats extremely annoying is the immediate release of a unique right after a version of it. Am I the only one who like new versions (even if it is "immediate" release)? Most important for me is if they are playable in cool new ways.
  3. Looks like php.ini settings has changed (probably register_globals). So any page that requires variables in the address will not work .
  4. ktom said: That doesn't matter, though, because the plot effect can't kill it anyway and it'll stay on the table.
  5. So, if I pay 2 influence for "A Gentle Prison" while there is no challenge at the moment (i.e. I did not stand character and I did not remove him from challenge), that character still cannot be killed this phase, correct? EDIT: I suppose no, since it must be participating character
  6. teh-V1s1on said: Is it me or is the brothel a bit too powerful. We were playing only with core set cards and by round 4, 3 brothels were out on the board. Hopefully we are playing it wrong but every turn they just kept three of my guys tapped. The Brothel is not unique so three can be on the board. I at first thought that since the brothel was standing that it could not immediately kneel to kneel a standing char. I was told it could do that every turn and that sux. Brothel is unique. Be sure to read FAQ at AGOT support page
  7. teh-V1s1on said: so you are saying that these cards are useless unless playing against more than 1 player? Yep. Mutual Cause has nice stats though.
  8. In my opinion it's not a cost, because you must do this (you are forcing opponents to do this) - thus it's an effect. If opponent doesn't kneel his character, then you still may use "then" part (because of "if able"). I may be wrong, though.
  9. Pedrowan said: its strength is reduced to 0, can it declare stealth Sure. STR is needed only for challenge resolution.
  10. I don't like Winter Festival. Isn't Craster x1?
  11. "He calls it thinking": Response: Cancel the effects of a response without an influence cost. Then, attach He Calls It Thinking to a HM character (counts as a Boon attachment with the text "Attached character gets +2 STR."). "Compelled by the rock" works with it, right? That response part requirement isn't working any more, correct?
  12. eloooooooi said: So, when the attacker loses the Power challenge he has to give the attacker X power, depending on which is the claim value on the defending player's revealed plot card. He is the attacker, so he has to give himself his own power. OK, now I see what you mean. (You said earlier "The losing attacker" and that's different with Red Vengeance). It's clear now. BTW if we are supposed to be strict with rulebook, then one may say "claim, what claim?" "If you win the challenge as the defender, no claim effect takes place."
  13. eloooooooi said: Why don't you? Because with Red Vengeance you are still losing challenge (it only cancels claim). Doran turns on new rule: if you lose challenge as a attacker, then claim effect happens depending on the type of challenge initiated (so it works always no matter who wins). Correct me if I'm wrong. It's hard to believe that there will be errata.
  14. Rozy said: And what about Epic Battle events that are placed next to my plot deck? Ha, good question. I think that such event is not in play. It's just reminder.
  15. eloooooooi said: Doran Martell's ability works the same way as Red Vengeance. Really? I don't think so.
  16. Madduxx said: Do I have that right? I recommend reading FAQ to consolidate: Who gets to take the first action in a Player Action Window? The "First Player" always has the opportunity to take the first action in any Player Action Window. Who gets the first opportunity to play a response? If the response is to a player action, the player to the left of the person who initiated the action has the first opportunity to respond. Response opportunity then passes clockwise around the table. In a Framework Action Window, the "First Player" always has the first opportunity to respond. Response opportunity then passes clockwise around the table. Note that challenge resolution is a framework action window, so the “First Player” has response priority regardless of his status as attacker or defender.
  17. ktom said: (It's actually a pretty advanced example of timing rules for the game.) ~ Ha! So that's the real use of this card.
  18. date said: and what if military battle plot in on and Turncloak Mercenaries is attaking....could any character (with immunity to character's ability) be declare as defender ? No. While Turncloak Mercenaries is attacking, players with revealed Military Battle or Power Struggle plot cards cannot declare defenders. "Players", so no doubt here I think.
  19. My friend told me about the game and the books. So I tried (first read) and don't regret My favorite houses are Stark, Martell and Greyjoy because of the books. I don't have out of house cards in decks, but because of gold penalty (and Bear Island), not because of the story. I hate Lannisters! I like the current state of the game. The only wish is to see more characters from the books. (And no more reprints (like Arianne) with the worst image possible - I beg you FFG).
  20. Well, if tzumainn.com really stops updates, then maybe. BTW OCTGN is good for deckbuilding.
  21. xqg5009 said: How can i get rid of this attachment. Welcome. Attachments in this game are somewhat powerful, because only Targaryens has true control over them. Although other Houses has few counter cards too. If you go to my site (my signature), you can search database of cards. The quickest way to find such cards is to write for example "discard%location" as a search phrase. It's necessary to find also second combination of words (i.e. location%discard). This works at tzumainn.com as well. At my site, after you get search results, you can also use browser quick search (slash key) to highlight and quickly find the string you are interested. Sometimes cards are more sophisticated (move%attachment), but that's minority.
  22. But current design is so pretty. Actually it's the prettiest I've ever seen.
  23. schrecklich said: By the time you get a chance to save characters all the characters to be killed have already been "marked." So when Darkstar comes into play, he won't be killed as well. Seems correct. I checked FAQ at "Action is initiated": "f) Marshal the card, or trigger the effect. Choose targets (if applicable) and proceed to step two." schrecklich said: Putting Darkstar into play with his ability is a different effect. FAQ (3.27) "Unique Cards and Changing Control" allow this: "Duplicates can only be played or put into play on cards you own and control."
  24. Staton said: "I hate the new layout of the cards! Waaaaah! :'("-Kennon And he was serious?
