manson0815 said: Which is the best order to buy them? Whatever you like. My advice is to read what cards you get in each pack, and then decide if you want it now or later or never. (If you don't know what is the packs content click my signature) "Ancient Enemies" contains the best plots, so it is recommended for sure.

Lords of Winter Expansion Announced
Rogue30 replied to evilsponge's topic in 1. AGoT General Discussion
bloodycelt said: Then again would people be all that annoyed if Lords of the Winter had 3x To Be A Wolf and 3x Battle of Whispering Wood? In case of "To be a wolf", personally I wouldn't. But others would for sure. People want new stuff. I got better idea (I mean better because of greater probability to happen). Players could vote for best cards (Condemned by the council, The price of war, To be a ..., Varys, Syrio, Milk of the poppy etc.). After voting we would have list of most wanted cards - those that players would willingly buy. Then FFG could print special deluxe pack with those cards 60x1 or 40x1. So anybody could buy such pack x1, x2 or more if they like. -

Cards I want to see/not see reprinted

Yep. Generally AGOT has great illustrators. To stay on topic: I don't want cards like The Eyrie (A House of Talons) to be reprinted. -
Cards I want to see/not see reprinted

Would like: Brynden's Outriders Brightwater Lancers Wardens of the Reach The Red Queen's Host Army of Scorpions Lord Tywin's Host because of pictures -
jhaelen, I also encourage you to read A Song of Ice and Fire books. Also, remember, that you can try AGOT LCG for free by printing demo deck. My best ever story is The Witcher saga by Andrzej Sapkowski. If you happen to find translation check it out. Although I'm not sure if translation don't spoil this wonderful piece of art. Regarding SW LCG I don't believe it can happen, but who knows? Decipher's SWCCG was the best game ever created in my humble opinion. And it's hard to believe that someone will create as good game as it was - but on the other hand, FFG created AGOT LCG, so maybe they can surprise me.

Lords of Winter Expansion Announced

bloodycelt said: I think it would be nice to keep the CoreSet as it is, but update house specific packs for A Clash of Arms, and possible A Time for Ravens. What do you mean by update? bloodycelt said: Is it expected that everyone getting into the game now hunts down Ancient Enemies and Sacred Bonds for the Fury and To Be A cards? Is it really that weird/problem? Do you think that other old packs don't contain cool cards? -
Kennon said: I don't want every house to have options better than Targaryen who feature it as a theme, but I do want something halfway decent to be available. At the moment, my best option is..... run Maester Cressen out of house? Did I understand correctly that you play Lannister? What about Fury of the Lion, Let My Porridge Fly and Compelled by the Rock? BTW Zealous Collector these days is quite playable.

I'm not greedy. I only wish Stark has something like Longship Iron Victory.

ktom said: miss dee said: ~Are you insulting me or something? Who's the miss dee? ktom said: Well, you can choose to (unsuccessfully) kneel a character that is already knelt, but if you do, your opponent just needs to kneel anything to "win" the game and return something to hand. Pyrrhic victory at best. Yeah, but if you can't win or don't want to kneel standing character, then you avoid "losing" 2 characters for next challenge. ktom said: Again, kneeling is the cost. You never triggered the effect. Oh my, I forgot about this.

Lords of Winter Expansion Announced
Rogue30 replied to evilsponge's topic in 1. AGoT General Discussion
YES! YES! YES! -
So, if I understood correctly, these cards benefit from this: Fury of the Lion The Bastard of Godsgrace (not much) Hornvale (not much) Claw Isle (not much) Besieged Shipyard (not much) A Game of Cyvasse (opponent sometimes benefits) Longship Iron Victory If that's true, then Longship Iron Victory needs errata I think.

Where the hell is Johnny? I really like that you used "Vale pact" pictures. Image exchange was good idea - "Spy in their midst" you have used is one of my favorite, although the original is also pretty. Why the hell didn't they use Katherine Dinger Arianne?

Some new questions about the expansion of Greyjoy and Martell
Rogue30 replied to xqg5009's topic in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion
xqg5009 said: how can i define an unopposed challenge if the support/oppose relationships no longer exist??? Core Set rulebook, page 15: "Unopposed Challenges" During the “Resolve” step of any challenge, if the attacker wins the challenge, and the defender had a total STR of 0 (or no defending characters), then the attacker claims 1 bonus power for his or her House from the power pool. This bonus power is in addition to all other effects of winning a challenge. Don't mix this with multiplayer titles rules. -
Confirmed by Nate French: "Yes, you can use Loyal Guard to dupe a non-unique Noble."
-
I wonder what House will be connected with wildlings, if any. I mean thematically, not playable. In the books only Jon Snow was connected (House Stark?).
-
Winter said: In that situation, would the opponent controlling the character choose whether to discard the Loyal Guard dupe to save his character? That's good reason to not allow playing duplicates on opponent's characters. Also this: Any time control of a card switches via a card effect during a game, the new controlling player gains control of said card and all duplicates.
-
I don't feel ktomed enough My thinking is that "Loyal guard" allows you to dupe noble, but it only changes the requirement-definition of duplicate: another card of the same name. So it doesn't contradict "may only be played on unique cards that you control and own." How it is different from: "While The Fox's Teeth is attacking, knelt characters may be declared as defenders." As ktom said above: the only limitation specified in that text on which character can defend is "knelt," not "knelt and for any challenge in which it could normally participate". Or maybe "The Fox's Teeth" is poor written?
-
Yes, I agree, but if I can't get these new characters (because of some designer stuff) I'm still very happy with second Margaery. It's still better than non-unique peasant or something That's why the glass is half full. And with new Margaery there is a chance that this time the picture will be pretty.
-
ktom said: the only limitation specified in that text on which character he duplicates is "Noble," not "Noble and unique." So I can play it on opponent's noble character, right?
