  2. ktom said: Because the game makes no functional distinction between its use of a +X or a -X modifier. When many apply, you are literally told to put all of them together into a single modifier, and apply the result just the one time. Sorry but I don't get it. You are talking about modifiers (pretty obvious thing). Doesn't game make distinction between lowering and raising? I'm just courious if that was always official answer. Bonus (in language meaning) is a positive modifier and I don't know why it must be another confusing thing to remember, especially when rulebook names it bonuses and penalties.
  3. Can someone remind me please, why exactly we treat penalties as bonuses, while core set rulebook logically separates them on page 7? Some unofficial/historical answer? Or it is entirely based on page 12 rulebook?
  4. ktom said: How so? I've seen two interpretations: -you can play that event as if from hand and then it goes to discard pile -you can play it infinitely as if from hand (it stays as attachment) And honestly I have no idea what was desinger's intent.
  5. This card screams for clarification.
  6. Ratatoskr said: This passage refers to characters like the KL Knight of Flowers, that don't kneel to attack or defend. It's more about cards like Ser Balon Swann, while he has no intrigue icon.
  7. I hate the changes but episode 10 was amazing.

Pretty much it comes down to how Immunity works. I'm not sure if immunity covers abilities on characters since it apparently doesn't cover power on a character. (3.19) Scope of Immunity Immunity only protects a card itself. Peripheral entities attached to or associated with a card, such as attachments, duplicates, power counters, gold tokens on the immune card, and also including triggered effects originating from the immune card, can still be affected by cards of the type to which that card is immune, as long as the affecting cards do not target the immune card.
  9. the1andonlime said: Do all players have to pass on a standard action before the First Player can initiate a Framework Action? Yes. Otherwise the game would be unplayable. Players must be able to use cards like Orphan of the Greenblood etc. the1andonlime said: i.e. Can a player other than the First Player declare a challenge using Shadow Politics before the First Player gets to marshal a card or declare his/her first challenge? Yes, you can declare challenge from Shadow politics before normal challenges begin. Note that during marshalling phase the first player always has first action, so he will be able to marshall 1 card (or do anything), before you can declare challenge from Shadow politics.

  13. Saturnine said: Oh, interesting. So I can blame him for both performance *and* looks. ~Wait, so Martin is not responsible for everything?!
  14. Bomb said: I definitely agree with you on that one. Do you have any advice on how to counter him in Joust? Just focus on your winning 15 power. Try attack military first and then intrigue (with chances of discarding Viserys).
  15. Bomb said: If this is an automatic save, then how do you end up killing anyone in Joust when Viserys is in play without a claim of 2 in a military challenge? You just need to play more. Only beginners see it as a problem.
  16. As Ratatoskr said, these cards don't interact with each other. Storm's end is optional replacement effect. Mel's effect triggers as a passive effect later in step 4 (gives you 1 power whether you used Storm's end or not).
  17. Those are simply traits. Like Lord, Ally, Westeros etc.

  19. the1andonlime said: Specifically, can I use Cannot be Bribed, Cannot be Bought on my opponent's character after I use an effect to kneel it?. No. It must be your opponent's effect.
  20. Ratatoskr said: I don't think you can play responses to constant effects. You can, except cancel response.
