  1. Hi, I bought Netrunner and absolutely loved it. Me and my friends played for a while just using the neutrals and the faction combo suggested in the book. After playing that for a while I decided to buy more. I bought two more cores, all of the Genesis Cycle, all of Spin Cycle, Honor and Profit and Creation and Control. I am now completely overwhelmed by the options of deck building available to me. I find this to be quite different to other card games I've played and I'm having trouble deciding where to start. I normally hate net decking as I would rather loose with my own deck than win with the World Champions. However, that being said can anybody help me put together a basic deck for each faction that demonstrated their strengths and weaknesses, without using more copies of a card than I have? After playing with those I feel I could start making my own decks, I just need a far better understanding of how each faction runs. Thanks for your time, Jivewookiee EDIT: I forgot that I have the Spin Cycle
  2. So if I have Robert Baratheon with two duplicates, Stannis with one and Renly with zero, after a Valar I have Robert with one duplicate, Stannis with none and Renly is dead? EDIT: So even with Wildfire Assault the above would still work?
  3. By character stacks I mean playing the same version of Robert Baratheon on another version of Robert Baratheon. Giving him extra lives so to speak. In regards to your Valar comment, what are the options for keeping characters around?
  4. I thought you couldn't use character saves and the like against those plots. I can't find Valar but Wildfire Assault says "Cannot be saved". Same with characters that have stacks of the same card. i was under the impression that the character dies anyway.
  5. Hi all, I asked this question some years back and feel the answers i got didn't fully satisfy me. I love this game and love the setting. I bought a fair bit before it went LCG and still have my old stuff lying around as well as the LCG stuff. But the one issue I have with this game is, Valar Morghulis (Or Wildfire Assault) If the entire group is running one of the above cards then I feel there is too much board wipe, especially for my favorite House, Baratheon. Who rely on characters to accumulate power tokens. But, if you don't run these Plots you crowd the table and then Military Challenges become obsolete. If i lose a Military Challenge I have to pick a character or two to die. Not a big issue if i have ten characters. It gets worse and worse on both fronts the more players you add. And Melee is my preferred game type. What is the common approach to this (as I perceive it) problem. Thanks for your time, Jivewookiee
  6. Thanks, Are any of Smugglers/Scum one per deck? And is that the first three Force Packs, as that is all I can get from my LGS
  7. Regardless of faction, do Force Packs come with 2 of each objective that can be fielded twice?
  8. Hi, I was wondering how many objectives are out for these factions at the moment? One each in the Core, which is all I have at the moment. What are in the Force Packs? Also, regarding force packs. Do they have two of every objective that can field two or would I need to buy two of that specific Force Pack to get two of that objective? If you can name the number in each Force Pack and how many you can field that would be great. Thanks, Jivewookiee
  9. Mine has been shipped. I live in Australia if that helps.
  10. Why does free form deck building need to be a house rule? I like to play a game with the rules. Put it in the appendices, that or the POD rules
  11. I said earlier that most who want PODS wont be attending competitive tourneys. And I would think that if you are going the competitive tourneys you would want to tune your deck to be as tight as possible. It would be like rocking up to the MTG Pro Tour with a $15 precon and expect to have a fair chance.
  12. Sorry to MarthWMaster. You are on the "get rid of POD" side of things

I have an immensely strong feeling that there is nothing that can be said or done that will change that fact. That is…grossly unfortunate. The idea of it being a necessary element of the game, leads me to think that some cards are going to be deliberately inferior to compensate for stronger cards existing in the same pod, and that just smacks to me of cheap design. I agree, its lazy and a cheap cop out of actually having to make balanced game. That aside. What the is the problem with doing both? Why do you insist on it being PODS? Surely both can be acheived. Pod Players) Use PODS Builders) just build the deck

It might work for a year, but then it will fail and loosing a lot of customers in the process. You might be right and this is a fools errand, but I have to at least try
