Agree with you. You don't have to Dice again. You're friend is a bit of a turd, isn't he?

I agree with that - only monsters or characters that the Assassin moves onto can be attacked in that manner. Otherwise, that is totally unbalanced, not that it would be the first time that's happened.

For the Staff of Mastery, we feel that if the Staff is used to enslave, then it alone is the controlling power, not the character using it. If the Staff is lost or broken in our games, we allow the creature enslaved to reattack the character instantly. If it survives, it remains on the board where the character is standing. Sweet revenge.

Personally, I would go this route: Ghoul followers can be stolen. The Ghouls animated friends are basically constructs in my opinion and can be taken. If I construct a sword, that can be taken as an object (please, no emails from the National Association for the Advancement of Reanimated People concerning Zombies being people with rights too). The Sorceress' powers seem to be focused more on human manipulation and I would allow her to steal humanoid followers, but maybe not animals (depends if you read her power as more psychic or magical versus sexy in revealing clothing). As always, everyone can make their house rules and everyone is right at their own table.

How about this as a compromise? If the Troll is using a horse or other movement modifier, allow the player to check for regeneration every turn by rolling a separate die. If he gets a '6', he regens. This is separate and non-reliant on any movement such as the Blizzard or Poltergeist. A Troll (or Wolverine even?) should regenerate even if standing still, right?

This may mark me as a traditionalist or even unimaginative, but I would like to see FFG focus more on 'realistic' characters versus ones that would never be seen roaming around hunting demons. I can appreciate the variations and flavor some of these characters add to the typical lots you find in other games and genres, but I just can't picture a Philosopher taking on a dragon or a Leprechaun achieving world domination. There are so many untapped characters - new and old - that could be brought to the literal table that I find it hard to believe that these characters who are best suited for supporting roles as followers are being tapped as the main protagonists. Bring back the Necromancer, Knight Templar, Chaos Warrior, Ninja, and make way for other more believable heroes such as a Samurai/Ronin, Pirate/Mariner, Machinist (think Steampunk or Gnomish), Shaman, Viking. These may be archetypical, but at least I don't have to convince my young kids that playing a Merchant while I get the Warrior or Wizard can be fun too. You ever try to tell an 11 year old boy raised on Xbox and WoW that roaming the dangerous countryside as a Sage is a good idea?

Alchemist(using after losing combat etc)
Is this allowed?
How nasty
I like Dam's ruling, but I think that you can still Turn Objects into Gold before the winner claims his reward. You can't do this after he's declared what he wants to take.
Alchemist is not a great Follower; if he gets these limitations he's going to be almost useless, considering he can't Turn into Gold Objects that your Character may not have (i.e. Monk with Runesword). You have to take the Objects first.
The only purpose of Alchemist is to Turn into Gold those (few) Objects that you find and don't need? For 1 Gold only? Then he's the worst Follower, even Guide and Pixie give better abilities.
Oh, I don't know. The Alchemist can transmute any object the character is carrying, not using. So if the Monk can carry a sword and have the Alchemist transmute it for gold, he just can't use it in battle. The exception would be any alignment-based item restriction such as the Holy Lance where no evil character can even pick it up, obstensibly because it would burn their hands.
As for using the Alchemist to transmute items just to deny them to a victor, I think that's cheap and wouldn't allow it.
