  1. Not true. Without a focus modifier, concussion and protons will roll 2.68 hits/crits on average, where the HM will roll 3.00 hits. With focus, that changes to 3.68 for concussion, 3.00 for proton, and 3.75 for HM. Whoops, forgot that the two 4 point missiles only fix on of the non hit results.
  2. Concussion, proton and homing do the same average damage unless you stack focus and target lock. If you stack focus and target lock, concussion does better. Homing has the advantage of possibly keeping your target lock if your roll is good enough. Proton has the advantage of higher crit chance.
  3. When the rebel vs empire rpg book comes out, that will be the best way to guess what ships of the right scale FFG is looking at.
  4. I would have flipped out on that *******, and told him I could buy this stuff online for 2/3 the price.
  5. Thank god. Normally I don't mind repeat topics but there have been so many In the last week.
  6. With the system as it is, being bigger really won't make it harder to turn, it'll just make it fish tail more! Which makes it more likely to hit asteroids and my own ships.
  7. Play a game with the transport. It's hard enough to turn, I really hope the Tantive and anything else ffg makes won't be too much bigger.
  8. Yes, notice the say take a face up damage card, not take crital damage.
  9. I honestly don't get why everyone sees the E-wing as ugly... I like it's psuedo diving Bird of Prey look. Everyone seems to call the Ewing ugly, while the Defender gets praised. I don't get that at all.
  10. But you're not increasing the number of attacks he gets, jusy getting it slightly earlier and in a different position. Unless theres PS 9 or higher shots, he won't die before his chance to get a shot off.
  11. I think the ability shouldn't be used every round, a lot of the time it won't even provide much of a benefit. All it does it let you take a shot at the end phase in return for a PS8 shot next turn. If Corran is higher PS that your opponents ships (which he often will be), the only difference is the positioning and token situation. Now, when his ability pays off it will be awesome, as it can give you a considerable advantage whenever you happen to be in range one, or have caught someone like Fel without any tokens left etc. But if you have reason to believe your shot next turn at PS8 will be as good or better than the end phase shot, it's probably best left unused. That isn't true at all. It allows him, when equipped right, to make stronger attacks while focusing on defensive actions, and lets him focus on positioning for long term benefit rather than short term maintenance of attack arcs, as well as attacking when almost everyone will be short on defensive measures. There will be turns where it is better not to use the second attack, but those turns will be when nobody is left in arc. There are plenty of situations where the 2nd attack wouldn't be worth using. If the attack can't be modified, but the available targets have focus or evade it will often no be worth it. If the 2nd attack is at range 3, but next turns shots will likely be at range one, it will be worth saving the shot. If there's a strong chance that you will have a solid shot next round without sacrificing positioning it's worth saving the attack. Of course, there will also be times where the attack is worth taking because next turn is less certain, or you have a decent chance of killing a higher PS ship, or if you are sure you can avoid arcs next turn etc. The ability is really good, but that does not mean it should be used every single time it is available. It is one of the more interesting choices in when to use an ability in the game.

  13. Well lets put it in perspective. Corran will no doubt be the most expensive, and FCS is almost an autoinclude for him, so that makes him 38 points. Wedge w/PtL and R2 - 33 points Ten Nub is 31 points nekkid. All 3 of the named YT's are 40+ points, with Han coming in at 46 points nekkid. So while he's expensive, he's not the most expensive ship in the game. 37* points for Corran + FCS
  14. R7 is limited to once per round, probably because of Tarn.
  15. I think it's safe to say it will be somewhere between the X and A wing dials. Here's hoping for a one straight on an A-wing dial without green hard turns, but with all green banks and straights. No ship thus far has had all 3 speeds of all turns+banks. Several come close though... /ln /in AW are just missing the 1 bank... XW, YW, FS, /sa, /x1 are just missing the 1 turn... YT, BW are just missing the 3 turn. HWK + Lambda are missing 1 turn and 3 turn. I doubt they'll give a ship all 6 of those possibilities, especially a ship that "has more green than red," unless it has a severely handicapped straight selection, which doesn't make sense in game/universe. The Defender has all 3 turns and all 3 banks. And most people call it a bad dial . . .
  16. Well, we found out that there is more Green than Red on the E-Wing dial... And Corran's ability is amazing! It is, but it was pretty much guessed from that one partial spoiler. Glad to hear it is the end phase rather than the activation phase as some people guessed though.
  17. So basically no new information other than the exact text of Corran's ability and his cost.
  18. Ion cannons wreak B-wings. A B-wing that really likes stress is going to spend a lot of time drifting.
  19. The pegs fit in the ships and bases right? I ordered one pack of green bases to replace some pegs . . .

    only one

Transport because the Xwing pilots might hit the table more often that twice a year.
  21. I really don't want to have to buy one for certain cards. Ha! You know that's exactly what's going to happen If they make one, yeah. It's a large part of why I care whether they make it or not.
  22. I really don't want to have to buy one for certain cards.
  23. I remember them, people argued it took away from dogfighting. Not really related to this thread.
