EWing dial
in X-Wing
Just a note, that is more maneuvers than any other ship in the game I think. Regular fighters seem to have 15 maneuver options, the fast ships, a-wings and interceptors get 16, this one has 17. I think that may end up being pretty significant.
Defender has 1 more.

Decoy + Squad Leader ?
Decoy is combat phase, so still can't use squad leader to advance sensor someone else. Disappoint.
-
Decoy comes with the Z95. Tactician comes with the TIE Phantom. You can see them in the card fans from the news releases from ffg.
-
I agree that the Tactician would have been better as imp only. The art is very imp, and the rebels got a really good stress dealing exclusive card.
AdmiralThrawn reacted to this -
Tactician is cleverly worded so that the Falcon only gets the bonus in the front 90 degrees, which is a relief. The firespray, on the other hand, counts both front and rear arcs. Very nice. I think o's cool that the firespray's fire arc get at least some tiny advantage over a 360 degree turret.
why not use rebel captive at that point though?
Picking who you stress is often better than forcing your opponent to pick who gets stressed, enough to be worth the reduction in reliability.

Mean on a Gunner BH is more like it. You don't want to avoid that first attack at all...
Tactician needs to be in your firing arc to work. So not that great on a falcon. Could be a lot of fun on a Bounty Hunter if you weren't taking Gunner, Rebel Captive or Recon Specialist.I like Decoy. Swarm Tactics may seem the better choice, sure. But Decoy messes around with the opponent's target priority. Your high PS ship out of arc, might as well give the PS to an ally. Your high PS ship still healthy, whereas the low PS ship is almost dead, switch to allow him to get a shot. I like it, because there are some really cool tactical things you can do with it.
Tactician is interesting. Will be neat to see how well he will work. (In before the "broken in a Falcon complaints)
Stressing two enemy ships in a turn is just NASTY!
Kath is going to be mean...
Bounty Hunter has only 1 crew slot.

Wasn't there a different actor for Wedge in each movie anyway?

I hope it costs the sensor slot. I don't think it will be worth points, and it would be dumb/overpowered if it was free.
It's a title.
Yup, its a title card, so you can still take a System. It may cost some points but I wouldn't expect more than 1, maybe zero. None of the titles that allow another upgrade cost points, only the ones that actually give you a gameplay bonus.
If they make it cost 0, unless they make another title, the B-Wing has a crew slot at no cost and might as well have had it in the ship cards. That's dumb.
They're doing the same thing on the A-wing. There may be a limiting factor like Pilot Skill (like on A-wing and Royal Guard), but they could have just printed those extra EPT icons on the A-wing cards. No difference, not efficient way to do it, but would surprise me if it costs more than 1 point or anything at all.
But the A-wing title is clearly a boost to an underused, under-powered ship which is having it's role taken by a new ship. The B-wing is a very popular, widely used ship, which arguably has taken the role of another ship.

Daredevil is a lot better than barrel roll, the cost might be better for Jake, and he gets an extra action but Tycho is much more maneuverable. If I put the Awing title on Tycho and gave PTL and Daredevil...is this hyper mobility worth the 32 point cost?
I say no. Not with Jake Farrell around. If you want a hyper mobile A-wing take Jake with PtL and whatever else you like (I like VI so he can make the most out of his mobility). I don't think Tycho can compete with Jake in cost/effectiveness.

But if a TIE had Etahn's abilty, it would be broken. Howlrunner formation rerolls AND Gundark for autocrits?
Sure, but we are comparing an E-Wing with a Tie Fighter. There is already a 15 pts difference. I would gladly pay 17-18 pts for Winged Gundark if he had the same ability as Etahn. It would actually sinergies quite well with Howlrunner, both also being part of the Obsidian Squadron. But as he is, I prefer to use a BSP with a EPT or save 1-3 points and take a generic Tie Fighter than pay 15 pts for him.Gundark is less than half the cost though . . .
As I said, I don't think Etahn ability is OP or anything. I just feel bad for Gundark, that already has trouble seeing table time, now that there is another pilot with an ability that overshadow his.

Deadeye is best with homing missiles imo

I got that it made sense, like I said I thought it worked at first. I was just unsure if the text of the combat steps made sense with it.
-
You declare the target of your attack before you spend your target lock. Therefore the R3-A2 text triggers first.
Where does it say that? I couldn't find anything that clearly states the order.
-
Hobbie + Flechette Torpedo + R3-A2
At first glance, I thought this would double stress a target and leave Hobbie unstressed. But then I wondered whether spending the target lock for the torp came before officially declaring a target. The Flechette Torpedo says: Spend your target lock and discard this card to perform this attack . . .
while the rules say that:
COMBAT PHASEDuring this phase, each ship may perform one attackagainst one enemy ship that is inside its firing arcand within range. Starting with the ship with thehighest pilot skill, players resolve the followingcombat steps in order:1. Declare Target: The attacker chooses whichenemy ship he wishes to attack.2. roll attack Dice . . .
If you have to spend the target lock to start the steps for performing an attack, that you mean you spend your target lock BEFORE Hobbie can use it to get rid of the stress from R3-A2. I'm not sure if that is the case or not. -
Stealth has to be better than hull with the focus stacks, right?
-
Best hwk is a 26 point ps2 Crow pilot.
Rebel Opprative 16
Blaster turret 4
Recon specialist 3
Moldy Crow title 3
With a Stack of focus tokens its surprisingly tanky, and unless it is focus fired upon early, its token stack will likely last through the game.

Go with the Gamma's. And yeah Squad Leader isn't all that helpful since you are already getting free re-rolls with Jonus. I'd even consider slapping Determination on Jonus instead of Swarm Tactics. I've had Jonus take a crit that canceled out his pilot ability before my Gamma's even had a chance to fire their missiles.
The point of squad leader isn't to give the focus for someone who already has a TL, it's to give a target lock to a ship that couldn't TL on its activation because the target wasn't in range until after it moved.

1-percent-wealthy in an already rich man's game
lol This game is nowhere near that expensive. It was a bit cheap of them to include a new set of x-wing pilots with the transport, but it's nowhere near as bad as you're making it out to be. It's 40 bucks for 4 new xwing pilots and 4 new droids, or 0 if you just print them out.
