How is a legitimate question about your position a straw man? Up to that point there was no argument made that couldn't also be used for a Death Star model.
-
2 feet long versus 11 inches isn't insignificant. Yes, it isn't to scale, but neither the Transport or Corvetter are to scale with eachother either. And they follow a pretty clever curve that fits the Star Destroyer. Beyond that, as I've said, i care about how it feels, not the numbers. If it plays as the biggest baddest thing on the map, controls the map, and becomes the focus of the game, and looks as amazing as a Star Destroyer it works. There is a whole lot of Psychology behind the design of the Star Destroyer that the Vigil just doesn't and can never have. That does not look like a Star destroyer. It looks like somebody made something designed around the idea of a Star Destroyer. That is just not enough.
Without the elevated command center the whole thing just looks incomplete and squashed. The angles are too shallow. There are a million reasons it just is not, and will never be, an acceptable halfway gesture. It looks like something you would see in a Star Wars Ripoff.
Oh, the Vigil looks like something from a Stars Wars ripoff. But a "look, I'm a little bigger than a CR-90" ISD would be "authentic".
Try not to make our arguments for us man.
If it's 2 feet long that is more than halfway across an epic scale map. How big do you think they can make the epic scale map to accommodate something that big?

If scale doesn't matter, why not ask for a Death Star model on the table.
And this is a logical falacy, and ignores the point entirely. Exaggurating an argument to mock it is rude.
How is it different? The reason a Death Star is obviously too big is because fighters spent a chunk of the movie flying in and around it. The reason an ISD is obviously too big is that a CR90 was pulled into the hanger bay of one in the opening shot.
Also the arguments of the pro ISD are:
1. It's iconic.
2. They played an important part of the space battles.
Both of which are true of the Death Star.

I really doubt that they will get around to making even a quarter of the pilots who flew in Rouge Squadron, so I don't see anything wrong with making a genericRouge pilot to cover the rest.

It would be cool to get some kind of bonus for having all ships of the same squad, but it would have to be very weak in order to not break the game. There is already the benefit for having ships of the same pilot skill because you can choose activation and firing order.
-
Not having a reposition ability does make PS less valuable, but shooting first can be very powerful, and higher PS still counters enemy repositioning
-
Does anyone really think they won't make Imp capital ships? I hope they won't make ISDs because of the scale, but they have to make SOMETHING similar to the CR90 for the Imps.

No, additional Weapons Engineers doesn't not grant any additional benefit. The card says you can maintain 2 target locks, not an additional target lock.

I really doubt it will have green turns, especially when it can use the generic R2 to get them and R2D2 would make a dial with a lot of default greens VERY powerful.
-
It's useful on a ship with cheap hitpoints, like the shuttle.

It seems like the new torps and the stress droid shouldn't be legal until wingman and the other new EPTs that are alternatives to PTL are out.
-
When the refit for the Awing comes out, Chewie and a green would be a viable option.

Haven't memorized all the upcoming stuff yet, but...
Any reason you couldn't put stealth device on a TIE Phantom, just for kicks? 5 agility dice when cloaked?
The Phantom is getting much better things to put in it's mod slot.

Both the TIE bomber and the Firespray with Slave 1 title can use Flechette Torpedoes...
I was not talking about having a Torpedo Slot but access to the card itself; Flechettes are currently exculsive to the Rebel Transport
I think the E-Wing also has one.
-
Access to Flechette Torpedos for the Empire for starters (to level the field of action denial even more)
More non-rebel/generic crew
And although I am no fan of the original design: the Xg-1 aka Assault Gunboat (thought last years I saw one heck of cool take on the design - I make the Assault Gunboat more familiar to the Lambda-Shuttle)
Bombers and the Slave I can use the Flechette torp, bombers might even be the best carrier for it.

I'd like to see more cards like Flight Instructor and Predator that are more effective against low skill pilots.
-
Wouldn't using opportunist and Carnor in the same build be counterproductive? The opportunist requires the enemy to be without tokens and Carnor limits them from spending tokens. So your basically needing Lorrir to do all the stripping. Wouldn't PTL and def buffs be better? Or a snipping Kanos?
Carnor also stops them from getting tokens, depending when they are range 1 to him.

It could be a new ship that comes with a title card for the advanced to let the unique advanced pilots use an avenger.
-
Why hating on Vader? Sure he is the only Advanced pilot who isn't completely useless because he has a decent squad leader role, but he's still inferior to a Fel as a fighter.
Not hating, just acknowledging Vader's built in stressless PTL.
Which would be nice on a ship that isn't crap.

Even if they do make an ISD, I still want one of these. It looks cool as hell and it is fitting to the scale.
