I don't expect the decks to have much actual major combo's. The algorithm is there to make sure that if you have some kind of tribal tech that their will be some other tribal cards in it. We will have to wait and see how good the actual algorithm is. You should "forget" your previous experiences with cardgames like magic, L5R, vampire, doomtown, etc because in those kinds of cardgames the deckbuilding part is so important. A meta can be so strict that your deck perhaps only has a 20% winrate against another deck. Which isn't fun and one of the reasons that they play several decks against another in Heartstone. It's probably true that some Keyforge decks might have similair bad matchups (but their will be only so many versions of that deck out there, and even 1 or 2 diffrent cards can change a deck drasticly if we are talking about 36 card decks)
For me the main advantages of this game are:
    - The thing I dislike the most about cardgames, especially in tournaments, is that you'll often face the same deck over and over again. In keyforge, if the balance between houses is somewhat decent, this will not be the case. If I travel all the way to a tournament to just play againt 2/3 diffrent decks in 7+ games which I already saw in my local meta or in previous tournaments isn't always the experience i'm looking for and isn't the reason I started, and loved, playing cardgames.
    - If it's a fun game (and it looks fast-paced and fun) it's easy to just start playing. Hook up with a friend, go to your local gamestore, pick up a deck each, buy a drink, sit at a table and play a best of 5. It's like going out to the cinema, but for gamers.
    - If someone claims he has the worst deck, don't you, as a gamer, want to take his deck and beat him with it? On reddit someone even suggested a Worst-of-Tournament, everyone takes his worst deck and before the game starts you switch decks with your opponent. It's a fun format and this game is perfect for it.
    - If people don't take it too seriously it can be a generous community. One of the best aspects of the old L5R community was that due to clan loyalty everyone had cards he didn't use. I started because someone gave me nearly all his crane and unicorn cards. Together with some other free cards I could start playing almost immediatly. Later on I gave entire decks away to people who were interested so they could join. If I don't like a deck, someone else will perhaps. If it's an adult he/she can offer me a drink, if it's a child I've given him a swell childhood memory and he can have another deck for his sibling/friend so he can play at home.
Lots of ifs but we'll see. The game is an attempt at bringing back the pre-internet non-competitive magic to cardgaming. It looks fast to play and teach and if it has sufficient tactical depth for my taste i'm willing to lose the deckbuilding aspect (which I love btw) to have a good and fun game.

I really try to understand what's the logic here...
Basically we have a game that works like a CCG/LCG, excepted that you don't get to choose what mechanic your deck will be using. And you don't get to chose how good your deck is either.
Decks are assembled randomly form a pool of 350+ cards with 4 degrees of rarity . and FFG states in the FAQ that " If a deck wins too often in an Organized Play framework, there are processes in place to handicap and eventually retire that deck. "
So basically, you get to spend 10 USD countless of times until you get something decent/likeable to play while considering that each deck you don't like is 10 USD purely wasted as there is nothing else you can do with those cards. And if by chance you get a really good combo, well you will see YOUR deck banned or nerfed to "balance things out" (not like a card is banned, for everybody, here, it's joust YOUR own deck you and only you spend money on it). So you will be spending likely hundreds of dollars for nothing basically. In a regular CCG/LCG game at least you can use the cards for something but here you are not allowed. I had serious issues with the CCG sealed random booster packs business model but here that's even worse. You can get an awesome really rare card mixed in between 35 other garbage ones and it will do you no good. This screams lottery and pay to win to my ears like never before in a board game environment. I cannot imagine how this game can seriously be considered for Organized play.
Considering the creation of the decks is entirely procedural and not coming from a human design there is no way to tell in advance who's deck is OP and ban / handicap actions can actually be taken only after this was noticed. Meaning, the harm will be done, and once an OP deck will be banned, another will show up, because there will be no way to predict their arrival.
Remains the kitchen table play, and even here, I don't see the point. Having the same decks facing each other will get old fast, and throwing 10 bucks on a regular basis on random decks without any idea on how they will perform is not appealing. The pleasure being in the unknown of what the opponent has... playing with the same players over and over will not keep this fresh at all.
I'm not trying to bash the game pointlessly, I try to understand how is this supposed to work. Am I missing something? If yes I'm all ears and I will be glad to her other opinions and explanations.

Smaller model often implies that it's cheaper to produce. Therefor you can have more of them and supply more theaters of war. If the loss in firepower due to being a smaller model isn't really relevant in a lot of cases you don't lose much tactical utility on the battlefield for using the smaller models.
@AldousSnow Nice work, could  you perhaps add a unit of 6 troopers, for comparing the vehicles with a normal squad?

I am looking forward to painting these miniatures but somewhat reluctantly so. From experience I am getting 2 sets.
I own 2 sets of all box sets of Star Wars Imperial Assault and have painted over 240 miniatures just for that game. I started playing the game at home with my kids and they loved it. I have created 3D maps for custom skirmishes and that is what has lead me to Legion. (At this time I only owned one complete set)
To make a long story short... My kids attend a special needs school and begged me to bring Imperial Assault to game day at school. This became an instant hit at their school and almost everyone wanted to play. I had to purchase a second complete set to accommodate the demand. (Not enough figures to go around) I had made some small 3D tables for the kids to play on. (So much easier to teach on a 3D table) Of course we just use basic rules...Just use the bottom of the card stats NO special abilities to create a somewhat even playing field. I even created custom cards to include characters not in the game that should be and found nice WotC miniatures to fill in. (Ackbar, Yoda, Nien Nunb, Tarkin, 4-Lom, Zuckuss, Boussh, Wedge Antilles, General Veers, Bib Fortuna, Lobot and a bunch of canon droids.)
My point is that I am actually dreading painting anymore Stormtroopers/Snowtroopers. I am excited about Scout troopers but I will honestly paint them all. I will do as I did with Imperial Assault. I gave some Stormtroopers a Shadowtrooper paint scheme in every type. (Basic, Jet, Heavy, Riot) This will break it up and make it not seem like an assembly line.
Whether or not anyone chooses to paint their miniatures it is truly all about the game. Painted or Unpainted just have fun.
My only thought is does someone who has no desire to paint miniatures have any desire to create a gaming table or will their table consist of just 8 barricades?

This game needs to stay rightly focused on what it wants to portray.  Right now, that is iconic characters leading a platoon and big scary monolithic vehicles. The more they stretch the parameters the the more it will stray from the experience.

You got worked up in a hurry, huh? As somebody who also develops digital games, and having put 6 out to market in the past few years, I can tell you you're a little off base with the whole complexity over simplicity argument. Its not the right comparison. Streamline, approach-ability, and accessibility reign on these kinds of games. If complexity always won out, how in the world did Hearthstone shoot to a far and away #1 in the digital card game space? So, that whole argument falls apart immediately. Also, its extremely rare that a game translates from one medium to another 1:1 successfully. Its also rare for books to movies and vice versa. Its a different platform and its a different audience to a degree. They are making a different game for a different platform and targeting an expanded audience. THAT is what they're thinking.
Why would they go to the trouble of giving you the same game you already own on a different platform? You already own it. If I could give you some advice, it would be to just have an open mind and try this game out on its own terms. I know you want a very specific product, despite any problems in translation to a new medium or gaining adoption with new players. But, that's not what they're making. And, just maybe, they know what they're doing and it'll all work in the end.

My bet is that this role can be picked instead of the official one at any time. My wish is that they remove the keeper/seeker restriction for good.
Anyway, why does the province have the "unique" symbol? Aren't provinces supposed to be unique by default?

I like how we have a case of life imitating art since so many are quick to label Yoshi a villain just like the characters are quick to label Satsume as one.
I think his main flaw is being so overconfident in his position that he can't imagine himself being outmaneuvered.
Given the Crane's precarious position right now he's probably their single greatest asset. Even if he's unwilling to show favoritism he can't help but see the world from a Crane's point of view.
Also, we finally have the reason for his reaction to Taka. Childhood trauma resulting in a lifelong aversion to carp.

Honestly, the list of people who DIDN'T have something against Satsume at present appears to consist of Kakita Yoshi and no one else.

I'll place a completely Serious And Valid (TM, offer not good on days that end in "Y") bet on Toshimoko, looking to clear the path for Hotaru to become a better leader by removing the source of her lack of confidence- and not coincidentally, someone he hated anyway.

Or maybe it was the Ikoma, who seem to coat themselves in a bit more slime then they used to in this incarnation.
Or Akodo Kage, looking to sow instability to make people question the legitimacy of the throne and thereby advance the Kolat's interests.
Or just some servant who'd had it with the miserable old jerk.
Or Prince Daisetsu, trying his hand at removing an important personage to smooth his own path to power.
    Or the Pure Land Sect.
Or a dimension-hopping rabbit with a penchant for dress-up and a tendency to make a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

Don't forget that the Phoenix one only works while attacking, also negates his own with less glory, needs the stronghold against most clans and most importantly he is a bushi in a shugenja and courtier clan.
I'm happy to see interesting cards, the reason I got a bit bored by agot2 due to dull cards.
