  1. Using the AOL ruleset,I just finished a campaign set in the Star trek universe that was between Enterprise and the Original Series.
  2. Actually, my question was just if the force rating had a cap. And the consensus is that it doesn't.
  3. This might be beating a dead horse but I'm curious about it. Is there a cap on Force Rating like there is for Characteristics? I haven't found anything in any of the other books so I'm assuming there is not.

    Bomber

Bomber. (While attacking a ship, each of your [crit] icons adds 1 damage to the damage total and you can resolve a critical effect.) Does this mean a crit causes 2 damage, or does it just add 1 plus a critical effect? Another player insists it means 2 damage plus a critical.
  5. The rebuild idea was what I was leaning toward. All of your thoughts firmly cemented it. Thanks for the feedback!
  6. I've got a character that has dipped deeply into the pilot spec of the smuggler career. He really likes the ace signature abilities. Does it sound totally unfeasible that he be allowed access to it since both pilot spec trees are identical?
  7. I don't know if I missed it in the rules, does a unit at the headquarters need to pay a deployment cost to be moved to a planet?
  8. The sidebar titled "Rebel Alliance Military Ranks" on page 393 might have some errata. The Navy column and the Army column both have Lieutenant listed twice. I wonder if the Navy column should have Lieutenant Commander listed under Commander and First Lieutenant listed under Captain in the Army column.

  10. I am trying to set up a campaign for my group that deals with a Tryanid invasion and I was wondering if anyone has tried to use the stats from the other RPG lines or if there are any balanced conversions for Only War.
  11. Has anyone run across any scanned pdfs of the talent trees from the rulebook? I really want to include a copy in my character folio but I'm too afraid of hurting my book. I know there are a lot of good fan made ones out there but I'm being picky.
  12. I think the only way to increase your force rating is through the force sensitive exile tree. This gives you a max force rating of 2 in EotE. From everything that is coming out about AotR and FaD it sounds like the force abilities will be expanded and allow a force rating of 4 in AotR and probably max out at 6 in FaD. In the long run though, I am just taking what I am hearing and guessing.
  13. Here's hoping they get the Vehicle and Squad sheets up on the support page soon. I would hate to hurt the spine of this gorgeous book.
  14. I was not refering to AoR and FaD. Each individual 40K line has had the 5th product supplement devoted to character development.
  15. If they hold to the same format as the 40k lines, and they seem to be. After the adventure "Beyond the Rim" comes out, some sort of book containing enhanced players options should come out. I would bet that we will some additional careers in that, or at least additional specializations.
  16. Somehow the focus turned to destiny points. I am still wondering about the total number of dice that can be thrown in any one check.
  17. Yes, my brain conveniently left out the one destiny point rule when I was asking the question. I was just wondering if there is a limit on how many dice you can roll per check or could it be limitless depending on the circumstances.
  18. My group flys a modifie d Yt-1930 officially known as the "Sinister Intent". When we are operating under cover it's the "Pappy's Canker".
  19. (difficulty/challenge dice beyond 5?)is how it was supposed to end but the forum was being persnickety.
  20. As I was reading some of the other posts it got me wondering if there was ever an upper limit stated on the dice that can be upgraded. If you have enough destiny points could you upgrade the ability/proficiency dice beyond 6 or the difficulty/challenge dice beyond?
  21. It was mentioned on page 387of the rulebook, in the introductory adventure section Dark Hunters. Second sentence states "It is best used if the Squad chooses to exit their transport for some reason -or if they lost the Chimera due to a poor Logistic roll at the start of the mission."
  22. I've noticed the rules talking about logistic rolls for vehicles but I cannot find a base availability for them. Have I missed something, or is it a scenario specific thing?
  23. My mistake. Had a dyslexic moment. I still believe these weapons should be considered extremely deadly and need to be feared by the players. I guess we will just have to see what the devs think in the final update or possibly the finished product.
  24. Okay, I'm asking because I'm genuinely curious not trying to be critical or start anything. In your example was the gun mounted on a tripod? You said he picked the gun back up an iced on of the characters. Was this in the same round? The description in the book states that it typically takes two rounds for a two man team or three rounds for a one man team to bring the weapon to bear.
