  1. Thanks a lot! Actually, I didn't mean the custom made races, but the racial objectives which replace the normal secret objectives, like these: http://boardgamegeek.com/article/7052403#7052403 There were a lot more on the wiki along with plenty of ideas and discussion.
  2. Mestre dos Magos said: Anyone know the wiki author? Does he plan to bring it back? A few weeks before it went down, I had downloaded the whole wiki, to read offline on the ipad (yeah i know... i am weird hehe) Maybe it could be useful for him? Wow, I think this would be really helpful to a lot of people! Any chance you could upload your backup somewhere? I'm also primarily interested in the variants section, specifically the racial objectives and alternate strategy cards.
  3. The file has been approved by BGG. So here's our belated Christmas present: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/50588 Enjoy. Any comments and/ or suggestions are welcome!
  4. We're right on target for a Christmas present for the community. I've sent final revisions to cyb3k yesterday, so the upload to BGG should happen any time now. Will post the link once it's online!
  5. TiredOfThis said: hey cyb3k, have you finished correcting the last faction?? i was going to PM you but i do not know how to hahaha Hey TiredOfThis! We're just reviewing the cards at the moment. Final wording changes and additions to the FAQ, then the upload will be ready. Just a couple more days. You might treat the five finalized factions as a Christmas present.
  6. I've bought my SoB copy at Essen and I can definately confirm that there was a Runebound card included.
  7. Hmm, seems a little strange, but ok. Thanks for the answer!

It also allows you to enter your own dice rolls for encounter loot. Perfect, thanks! I've got a question regarding Lieutenant purchases: What are the default XP-costs for Merrick and Eliza? Do I have to manually enter the reduced costs depending on which Lts. are already in play?
  9. James McMurray said: I still imagine Nanok to be worth taking, as he can reach higher armor values than any other hero. How? With this change his maximum armor is 5. Brother Glyr can start with that. Any other 2 armor hero can get that with copper gear, and still have their in-game ability and 3 melee dice. They'll have one less base movement, but IMX movement for high armor heroes rarely comes from advancing, and the movement from Knight would be the same for either layout. Delayed answer: I re-read Nanoks ability. He hasn't been drawn in our group until now, so only now I realized the definition of "Melee trait". I thought it would increase with upgrade dice (so in theory to 15 with 5 golden power dice - which would be totally broken) but of course it"s only the number of dice, so max of 5. My mistake there. James McMurray said: Have you asked the players if any of them would consider playing this neutered version of Nanok? If the answer is yes, go for it. If it's no, just remove him completely so nobody has the bad luck of drawing him in their 3 choices and having their viable options reduced to 2. Not yet, we'll just see. Perhaps the SoB FAQ/Errata will update the matter. At the moment Slev's idea of Armor = melee trait +X. X= 0 at copper, 1 at silver, 2 at gold sounds pretty good to me.
  10. James McMurray said: theasaris said: To 1: You might be right that compared to other Tanks Nanok might now be weak with the new rules, but he'll still get free armor improvements with each trait upgrade. Other tanks won't improve their armor that easily, if at all. Other heroes upgrade their armor by spending money, which is vastly easier than spending money, xp, and an extra week in town. Reducing Nanok's ability this much makes him worthless. At the bare minimum you should his conquest value, though even that is going to leave anyone using him feeling ripped off. You make this sound is if it were a house rule. To emphasize: this rules change is taken directly from the Sea of Blood rulebook. I guess FFG must have had a reason to weaken his ability. I still imagine Nanok to be worth taking, as he can reach higher armor values than any other hero.

  12. The Runebound card is actually included with Nara in Sea of Blood.
  13. To 1: You might be right that compared to other Tanks Nanok might now be weak with the new rules, but he'll still get free armor improvements with each trait upgrade. Other tanks won't improve their armor that easily, if at all. To 4: I see your point regarding the different nature of encounters in SoB, Graf. Traps wouldn't make much sense on a ship anyway. Perhaps treachery should really be kept for RtL. To 5: I've yet to see a Final Battle so I can't really say anything on that. But I'd just guess this change makes to battle more epic? I think I've read some report of a Final Battle where the Avatar died in two rounds. I'd really hate to see that happen and can't imagine the heroes would enjoy such an ending to a campaign either. So right now I'd vote in favor of adopting that rule. 6) Conquest Balancing Oh right, I forgot about that one. I think I'll use that. Scy800, your arguments against it don't really convince me. The OV has to purchase exactly the same upgrades in SoB, so you're automatically implying that this rule breaks balancing in SoB as well. 7) Treasure Sites Don't you agree that this rather belongs to the pirates-theme? Going around with a ship searching for long lost treasure maps? I think I'll leave that to SoB.
  14. Thundercles said: dude, theasaris, heroes who die in encounters are taken off the map until the end of the encounter. It's in the RtL rules. Yes of course. Then I just misinterpreted spazard's sentence. I thought he meant the party is only allowed a single hero death per encounter. The "allowed" irritated me, because of course the OV receives conquest just as usual when killing heroes in encounters.
  15. Just read across your instructions. Will definately try this! spazard1 said: spazard1 said: Usually heroes are only allowed one death per encounter. Is this a house rule you use?! I've just checked the RtL rules again and didn't find anything that supports that rule. I'm confused.
