The problem isn't that some people want more ships. THe problem is that these people are, inadvertently, dictating my game experience. I could choose not to buy S/V but if I do (and if i Don't i don't get the new cards) I would have had to preorder months ago and queue up with all the people who insist on having 3x everything within. The whole lot is also too expensive for me really. So I'm looking to get out of the game if the price is right (it won't be I doubt).

It reads to me like you are dictating your game. You seem hold a mindset that if you don't have everything you can't play. That won't be sustainable. Like I have said elsewhere, the game is very well balanced. Asteroid placement, ship placement and flying are as important, or more important, than what cards you have.

If you are done, ok. Don't act like it is the fault of the game or the rest of us playing though. You are choosing not to play.

I didn't say it was. In fact I gave the reasons on the first page. Perhaps you should have read them more clearly. I even said theat the game is good.

  2. Why would you have had to preorder months ago? You could easily compete without S&V and get the ships and cards when they become available.

And if your LGS has just enough to cover the preorders than they should handle their ordering better.

Or you should look to other stores, there's plenty to be had online.

because the demand for product is huge. Many people want at least 3x everything.

  4. By the way, do people feel that tournaments should be as cheap as possible to attract more players, or should have a price so that there's a prize pot - irrespective of whether there's official prize support? What's the most you'd pay to play if anything?

I have to wonder why you'd ever need 4 Falcons. It does seem rather...self indulgent

Shield Upgrade, Engine Upgrade and Veteran Instincts.

4 Falcons gives you 8 Engine Upgrades. Do you need 8?

    I dunno.

  6. Most likely, the bulk of Falcons were on a different boat. FFG has gotten very good at how much stock they make. See as how there were no immediate shortages of Wave 3, 4, or 5. Yes, there will be periods of ships being unavailable. People just have to accept that there will be the occasional shortage.

Different boat? They aren't life size!

The issue is more about supply than whether people have the right to buy things. It is simply a reality that if you buy 3 Falcons, 2 other players can't. They don't have Fat Han or Engine Upgrade.

I'm not adding judgement to that. That's just reality.

I agree it's a supply issue - if they sell more than are produced, and in a short time frame, then the reality is that the shop will need to order more, the suppliers will need to order more and in turn FFG will need to order more.  It seems to me that there's nothing wrong with people buying multiples; it's not in their power to know the stock levels or the demand levels of a given ship.  I did get the impression that people were suggesting that it was the people buying multiple's fault, so I'm sorry if I misinterpreted what people were saying.

I'm not criticising the shop, they are great. They can only stock what they are allocated. Believe me, they want more because they can sell more! The demand is there and they are up for supplying it. They just can't.

  8. Nothing wrong with owning multiples but when your buying twelve of a ship you'll never be able to fly together in one game that's being a bit dickish.

And scalpers who buy in bulk so they can sell at inflated prices on eBay and Amazon need to be strung up.

I have to wonder why you'd ever need 4 Falcons. It does seem rather...self indulgent

  9. TBH I'm more interested in getting out of the game at this point. The falcon thing isn't an issue in the sense I want stock that's not available, it's that it highlights the way the game is going. The gameplay is, more or less fine (apart from Engine Upgrade being in every list I've ever played against ever), but I can't keep up with it. Plus the cliquely local community who, despite being very enthusiastic about the game (which is great) never actually being available to play when I can play. So for me it's not really working out and I don't think I can justify preordering £100 worth of stuff every couple of months just to keep up. I know S/V isn't compulsory, etc, but then why bother playing at all?

  10. Go ahead.. blame me.. I like to paint stuff.. I have 4 Falcons, and wanted to have one dedicated one and 3 ORS pilot possibilities... 4 firesprays .. because I like to paint, and a Mando repaint and Kath Scarlet are just too tempting to me.. and 5 shuttles... sigh.. I'm sad and pathetic.. 2 each of the 2400 and VT 49... I just cant help myself... I'm sick.. sick, sick, sick... sigh...

But I did lend a friend 2 engine upgrades so he could kick my butt with engine boosting ships.. lol... oh, and if I'm teaching someone to play the game, they have all the ships they need to play, and no cost invested if it isn't their cup of tea.. and if you forgot something.. be it ship card or what have you, I'm more than willing to let you borrow.. or for that matter.. if I have a plethora of them.. I'll give it to you.. I've sent ship base tokens and cards to a couple of people on the boards here... no charge to them... I had extras and decided to help out a brother gamer... just gave away a RGP tile because a friend had misplaced one of his, bit didn't have enough to keep playing his list of ships without it..

Before we condemn people with multiple ships, lets remember we aren't all jerks hoarding the good stuff from new players or veterans who just haven't been able to get what they want..

Now now, I haven't used the word blame, nor have I offered any insults :)

  11. Urgh before wave four there was stock of the falcon freely available that was June, up until August is still wasn't that hard to find them then everyone went mad and we got the current shortage, given that time frame ffg had already ordered the reprint we are expecting to arrive soon.

If they had continued to sell at regular levels there would of been no problem but suddenly everyone had to have one or two falcons and panic buying started, same with the slave 1 and y-wing.

It's really not worth all this pouting, New stocks coming just exercise some patience and deal with it, or do what I did and order from Barnes and Nobel who have stock, with international shipping it works out at £25.

New stock came and went; that's what I'm talking about! Five ships were all the shop was allocated! Pricless!

  12. They clearly aren't reprinting enough, which isn't surprising as Armada is probably the priority right now.

BTW the guy wasn't a friend per se (not an enemy either), jsut a person in the local community. I've found them a bit cliquey, but don't take that as an insult. I'm not here to slag people off.

  13.

I believe OP is venting his/her frustration is all.  I'm OK with venting, especially if you make it

    entertaining for others.

Yeah, it's some of th follow up posts that seem a bit critical/judgemental.

If you want to  buy 3 Falcons that's your call. It's your money after all. But as has been said, it's not 100% compatible with a community when people have to queue up with the local clique who are desperate to have their third Falcon. Ok, it's your choice, but...three? really?

    Oh well!

I'm not venting either. I just find the whole situation rather insane, but tbh it's not helping my interest in the game.

Shame there's not a For Sale forum ;)

  14. Honestly, Im not bothered anymore. I can't really justify further expense in this game either because if I do it will be insane expense. It's either all in or all out it seems to me, certainly locally. I appreciate the offer, but it's not for me.

It's funny, in a sad way, ther was a a guy in the local community who had a Falcon for sale a month ago and someone mentioned I was interested. He didn't know what he watned for it (ie, he would just come out and say) so I offered him £25 which is the most I'd be prepared to pay even if I was interested, I'm not into collectables. He was righteously offended but only then did he say he watned £35. I told him to fly casual. Honestly, people can buy what they want and sell their stuff for whatever they want, that's entirely fine. But don't pretend you're a 'fly casual' community when you're out to stiff one of your own for as much as you can get. That's not for me. YMMV :D

  15.

I don't really care anymore. I did want a Falcon, but all this sort of nonsense puts me off the game frankly. People desperate to own 3 Falcons? Not for me.

Hey dude they've got their Falcons in stock-just checked (although they are down to two left so you'll have to hurry)

Thanks but like I said, i'm not really that fussed anymore. I also checked the site out of curiosity and it's listed as OOS anyway, not surprisingly.

  16. It is disappointing, I agree. I've been hearing from many new players that they can't find ships to buy. If people are going to buy 3 of everything, they will have to accept that there are fewer players in the community. Unfortunately, I get the sense they don't care.

    Totally agree.

And I'm more interested in the cards than the actual ship.

Ridiculous really. Between this and the TIE advanced nonsense i find myself non plussed at the game - along with the imminent cost of Scum which will be astronomical - and will also be out of stock given, again, the preordering insanity. When they announced the Falcon restock on FB last week the queue of people was already around the block, so to speak, before I even saw the announcement!

    Life's too short :D

  17.

If I have missed the point yet again then you have done a dismal job of describing it.  I went back and reread a good number of your posts and while you do mention that you dont want to buy a ship you claim you wont use you pretty much ALWAYS attach cost to your argument as well.  You dont really seem to divorce the two, see your own argument above.

Again: I do not want to have to buy the Raider to acquire vital cards to make my TIE advanced viable. I'm not sure how many more times I can continue to repeat this. If you want to argue the toss then you'll be arguing with yourself.

  18. I'm sorry you think it's impossible to analyze the game, and point out its flaws, without hating it.  I happen to like the game quite a bit.  But that doesn't mean that making Biggs cheaper than Garven was good design.  It doesn't mean that the game hasn't spent two years recovering from the overwhelming pain of the PS tax putting most unique pilots in the box forever.  It doesn't mean the rules, which barely include timing despite a CCG-like ability structure, are well-designed.  And it doesn't excuse FFG increasingly pushing the limits of putting highly desirable game components in increasingly expensive boxes.

What do you mean by Pilot Skill tax?

What fix are you referring to that almost broke the game after wave 1?

  19. With the Transport people used to split them. Then again, people bought multiple transports.

This being said, Team Epic does allow two Raiders (assuming 3EP)...

I also notice nobody is complaining about the number of StarVipers they'll need for all the Accuracy Correctors...

It's my understanding 2 are in each pack. I am fine with that. That's a fair amount. No expansion can contain everything in amounts to satisfy everyone.
