Hi, the plans for the future are looking really good. WFRP 3ed is a hit now at it will be one of the best games in next year I hope. I can't wait to see some more preview of whats comming up.
But I have a wish, now I don't know if You all will agre with me but I would like to see a new suplement every two months. it would be great if FFG would publish a new supplement every two months. That would give us 6 supoplements a year so the game would be so big like her old version in no time. So please FFG think about it and do if if You can for all the fans out there!
O and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010 every one!

Enigmatic at best.
But if I had to guess:
1. The Gathering Storm (we already know about it)
2. Game Master Toolkit, and maybe Players Handbook
3. Magic Compedium
4. Bestiary ?
The 1st i The Gathering Storm for sure.
The 2nd in my opinion is a new supplement just like the Toolkit but with a new Character Sheet and new carrers. But if this would be a Players Handbook it will also ok for me.
The 3rd is a magic Compendium for sure, especially for this I can't wait becouse one of my players is a big fan o magic.
the 4th can be a bestiary or a Skaven book or even better a big book of Chaos in all it forms.
I don't care what it would be I will still buy it! Can't wait for more supplements for WFRP! My favoured game!

I'm suprised that FFG got the licence for Horus Heresy the boardgame. This was an old GW game made in 92 or 93 I don't remember it that good. Could this mean that there is a small chance for Mighty Empires or even Warhammer Quest?
PS. I don't know if You have seen that some days ago GW forced the Board game Geek to delete all the fan content for thier old games. Could this mean that the gived the licence for all thier products to FFG? Maybe only not for the battle games but for all the old board game titles? Hmm, GW mades really strange moves.

Bears and wolves as pets.
Yes those are also missing.

I was wondering has anyone of You thought about making a universal character sheet. So the players would not have to write new ones after every carrer?
I was wondering about making a character sheet that would be on one A4 card and would be good for 3 carrers. It should have a lot of space for eqiupment and a pleace for 3 carreer advances. A little more space for skills and specialization would also be nice. What do You think about it?

Looking at the box I was kinda disappointed at what I was getting for my money...
Maybe it's just he way I precieve what I am getting compairing it to other RPGs. Normally getting big hard covered books vs. cards/components.
All right lets play the financial game now here is a break down of what you get and we will compare it to DND 4e and one of there new supplement books first the contents of the new box is as follows:
53 action cards(only 12 of these are reprints still leaving 41 new abilities)
30 talent cards(none are reprints)
10 condition cards(same as above)
10 career ability cards(ditto!)
6 wound cards(once again all new content and a nasty crit card in there to boot)
2 item cards(although these are for specific classes still cool none the less)
10 career sheets(essentially new classes when compared to DND)
4 party sheets(same as above)
1 Small but vicious dog pet sheet(not a new class but a new rule mechanic very cool)
1 pad of full color character sheets(great i was running out)
24 tracking tokens(can never have enough of these although would like some new colors)
12 fatigue/stress tokens(again awesome
10 character standups(while they are only cardboard you dont see Wotc giving you free minis to play there game)
1 stance ring(helps for the 4th player)
1 activation token(ditto)
10 puzzle-fit stance pieces(great i never seem to have enough of these either)
2 puzzle-fit center pieces(also cool have trouble making progress tracks without them)
1 small but vicious dog standup(sweet a miniature for frasier's dog eddie
)8 plastic bases(not sure why its 8 and not 11 but no biggies have plenty of these)
that is what you get in this box for the msrp of $24.95 not a bad deal when you figure that for $29.95 over at the Wotc booth you get one single hard cover book that will let you expand your classes, but you still need pay another $9.95 to get all the cards for that class and then another $10.99 for the box of minis to have a figure to represent you on the battlefield. Just something to think about when you guys try to play the money card with this or any expansion that FFG puts out for this game. One more thing to remember is that if you have a close enough group this cost can be deferred amongst the whole group making it fairly cheap to buy. While you can do this with the DND book as well each player would still need the cards and figures which still costs $20.
Just some food for thought.
It looks promising, I can't wait for my copy - but I will get in january - it still on the way to Europe.
The one thing I' worried about are the plastic bases - where can I get more of them?
-
The rulebook in this point is not clear for me, so I got a few questions:
1. What upgrades can the player buy and where he can see them? Are they on his carrer card if yes thaen how the carrer card shows what can he buy and what he can't?
2. When the carrer is complited?
-
The creation of a character is simple but my players give me some really interesting question that need to be anwsered for me:
1. About wealth - then You are poor or broke - do You still get the eqipment for Your Carrer card? My anwser was no - for example if you are a broke Waywatcher You don't get a longbow for start. I'm right?
2. Does the player choose the first talent and action cards or are they drawn when creating a character? I let them choos but After that I though it would be better and faster if they would draw them.
3. What are the starting action card for a wizzard and priest? I let my wizzard to have for free : Chanel power and cantrip. Everything else he had to buy for point.
-
There are no pets in the core set this - I'm disappointed. My players wanted horses - they did not get them.
But I hope this little mistkae will be fixed in upcoming expansions.
Horses, dogs, cats, deers and other creatures of the forest will be also a nice thing to see.

Yes, the card game sleves for 9 card solve the problem.
I understand everybody who thought that after they open the box they could play. Sorry without reading the rulebook You don't stand a chance, I think even that You should read it twice. I had readed all the rulebook and still sometimes I got a problem with understanding all the rules becouse my players sometime give me a really hard questions. The FAQ solves this problem a little bit but still there will always be new questions that need anwsers.
But still the game is a great expirence when I'm playing it with my friends - much better then others i must say.
-
Great job, it must took You a lot of time to write it all down here.
I have all the bacground books and I must say that they are great to use with sessions. Sometimes my player get one of those in the game - imagine they faces when they find in a secret laboratory "Liber Chaotica" or "Blood on the Reik". Really those book give a little better look at the Old World.
-
Now, this one
http://tinyurl.com/y9hq48b
and the 2nd doc_cthulhu sheet are great.
I think my players will want to play on them, becouse they are bigger and it will be easier for them to write on. There is one more think they look a bit like the old one so why not, they loved the old sheets. -
I think that FFG if they would whant they could do a terrinoth RPG with this mechanics. They would make a little changes in the system and it would work pretty well. of course You can do it by Yourself it's really easy to use the system mechnaics and play in another world like Terrinoth.

Picked in my local rpg store in Nowy Sacz, Poland in Thursday:)
Hello or labas diena ( I know its lithuanian, but I don`t know anything in polish). And Poland was once known as Poland-Lithuania
I was curious when learning that you are from Poland, how are the gaming communities over there? is it large, expanding? and how long have people been playing roleplaying games in poland?
Reason why I ask, is that per my experience the further east I travel, like Lithuania, Estonia and ukraina, the more unknown rpg is. (not that I find Poland to be part of eastern europe, more central europe if I am correct. After all the geographical centre of Europe can be found in Lithuania).
so is this a relatively new hobby for poland?
Hope you don`t mind me asking.
Sincerly the norwegian dude
Poland has her own RPg titles and this is not a new hobby. We have many very interesting titles but one of the classics is WFRP. It has a really big community. If my memory is not cheating me then the first RPG titles in Poland showed in the 1990-95 years. One of the first titles where "Crystals of Time" - horrible mechanics but people played it. Then there was Cyberpunk ans one of the biggest WFRP. Of course now there are many titles on the market so everybody can find something that he wants to play.

Now this a grat opinion. A player that had many not so good thoughts about the new edition and then when He has they all don't count. He is a satysfied player.

ad1. The paper quality is good, I don't know what are You complaining about. The cards are really great and it for my 1st quality (and I have many of FFG games).
ad2. The character creation proces is simple like the construction of a stick. I don't know what don't You understand in it?
ad3 and ad4. The design is ok, You are trying to find something that You can complain about in my opinion.

I'm pleased to annouce that The Adventurer’s Toolkit, the first supplement for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, is about to start shipping to distributors. It should be available very soon!
As threats to the Empire’s stability loom, some brave individuals step forward to lend their aid to the cause, while others are caught up in fate’s plans to find themselves facing perilous adventures. With more than 50 action cards, 30 talent cards, 10 new careers, and much more, The Adventurer’s Toolkit expands your options and deepens your Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay experience!
Now that it's release is imminent, I wanted to share a bit of a spoiler the roster of the ten new careers included in the Adventurer's Toolkit:
- Bailiff
- Bounty Hunter
- Dockhand
- Ironbreaker
- Pit Fighter
- Ratcatcher (with his Small But Vicious Dog)
- Scribe
- Smuggler
- Sword Master
- Wardancer
This gives me coinfidence that I made a good thing buying it with the core set. Now I'm sure that this new careers will be one of the most wanted by my players. Especialy the Bounty hunter, Sword Master, Ironbreaker, Ratcatcher and Wardancer.

I just noticed, last night, that Stromdorf is already on the new Reikland-specific map; it's at the top end of the Teuffeul, just south of Ubersreik.
+1 Fortune Point for Morskittar
I was waiting to see who would be the first to point out Stromdorf on the Reikland map found in the core set.
That's a good news -so we can see the town on the map. The intro adventure in the rulebook is one o the best i readed so I hope the campain will be even better.
I only hope that this campain will not end in the moment when the Storm of Chaos begins. For me the Storm of Chaos was a good idea, it was nice and makes a fine atmosphere but I don't like the end of it and that what happened after the Storm. The escape of Archaon to Grey Mountains is a mistake. He shuold die in the end battle if not killed by Voltan-reincarnation of Sigmar then the Chaos Gods should killed him - becouse He failed them. I don't know why he lives.
-
I will get my copy on monday - it's on the way but I ordered in my FLGS.The courier with my box will deliver it to my on monday (I hope befor noon). I can't wait to open the box.

O. this would be great - if two of the coll races from 1st edition would come back. The Fimir are very intersting and a nice alternative (not after all the bad thing should be Skaven), and Zoats also are a nice suprise. I remember a session when I was a player and my old GM used the Zoats in his adventure, this was quite a suprise when we saw them and did not know how to act.
I think that many of really interesting creatures from 1st ed shoul come back and I hope they will with some old Gods (like Mallal or Arianka) and the Old Faith. I know that Druids are now in Jade Collage but still the Old faith should not be forgoten.
-
So now we know that the WFRP 3ed is a success (the sold-out of the first wave make no doubt about that).
In few days we will have the Adventures Toolkit and after this a secret project with a funny code name "Project Thunderbolt". So i'm asking myself what will be next after all this?
In my opinion there should be:
- A Book About Religion in the Old World
- A Book About Wizards in the Old World
- A Empire Compendium with a bigger Bestiary, new carrers and Armoury book
That would be a nice start of the new year with does in plans by FFG.
Of course the are amny other ideas for the books like - Dwarf book, Elves book, Chaos book, Orcs book and many others.

The attack deals critical damage?
in WFRP Rules Questions
Posted
I got a question about some abilities of enemies?
Chaos Marauders or Trolls have a action card that has in the lines of sucess writen something like that:
- the attack deals critical damage / the attack inflicts critical damage
what does it mean? All the wounds dealed by this attack are critical wounds? I'm getting it right?
