  1. Thanks Jay, it's a really nice suprise. I can't believe we got the maps as pdf - wow!
  2. Now I think that it's going to look like this. The Edge Of Night (that will future Skavens) will come in September 2010. So the next big supplement could be released in November/December 2010. It could be like this: - a Priest book (the same think like The Winds Of Magic but for religions in the Old World) - a new campain (maybe set in another region of the Empire - could be in the Mood and with halflings) - a Knight & Noble book (this would have a lot of new carrers) - a new campain (set in another part of the Empire) - a Chaos & Mutation book (about all aspects of Chaos with it's warriors and demons and it could give the players a chance to play as evil characters) About the Bestiary - I would not count on that. Becouse we are getting new monsters with every campain and big supplement so it would be pointless. I'm working now on a little monster index to so I can easy find that monster that I'm looking for. But I like the ideas of race books like foe Elves and Dwarfs. Also it would be great to see some books with descriptions of the hole Empire, Bretonia, Kislev or even Chaos Wastes - this could be included in a Chaos expansion.
  3. Good job Mal Reynolds. This is what I was missing in The Gathering Storm - the Reik Eel stats. We got the stand-up but no stats, I don't know why?
  4. Mal Reynolds said: There seems to be three different sizes of this cardboard stand-ups, and they could represent size catergories used for game terms. Snotling stand-up (small size), All PC career stand-ups (medium size) and Troll stand-up (large size). And only large size creatures could be effected by the Troll-feller strike, and in other situations or against monsters deemed fit by the GM accordingly to roleplatying and the honour codex. I agre in 100%. This is a good idea to use the stand-ups as a definition of size. This is a effective solution and clears the problem of Troll-feller Strike. The Winds Of Magic are closer with every day so I think so are the cards with errata - I hope.

To try and help my players get there heads around what the stats and such like meant. One of the issues we had was a character with 2 WP and another with 2 TO. I've written a little script that gives you the statistical likelihood of success given any given dice pool and I'll be putting a version online soon. I also wanted to revisit character creation and see if there was anyway I could steer my players away from being thicker than the average peasant. It was at this point I read a line I failed to notice before, I live that I thought I should publicly admit to failing to read. ‘Next, increase each of the starting career’s Primary Characteristics by one‘ Now many of you will be laughing at me at this point and that's good, I deserve it. I've run three demo games for people including character generation and failed to notice that line each time. Then I started this campaign, and failed again. Some of you may be checking your rulebooks now, quick while the rest are laughing, it's on page 28. For you I hope my foolishness has been a warning and maybe a help. Now to return to working out how a more competent party will deal with the debris left by the Keystone PC's. I did exactly the same thing. And yes, it does mean characters come down with a major case of sucking. And shortly thereafter death. This was one of those things that should have been a little clearer,,, So what can I say - Warhammer is a dengerous, dark and grimm place where death is on every corner.
  6. If every new supplement will have such nice suprises like those with the new carreers. Great stuff jay - can't wait for more!

    Release Date?

Ok, so I have found it at last. Im my FLGS and other shop I asked about it and it looks like the release date of DungeonQuest in Europe is August/September 2010 - that's the optymistic version. Most of the shop is just saying that the game will be avaliable in Autumn 2010 and not earlier. So we have to wait till the and of vacations for this one but it's still worth it!
  8. So I'm looking at the upcomming section and I was wondering, what will be the next big expansion for WFRP? After looking through my library of games, at the previous editions of Warhammer and the backgroung books from BL I must say that I'm still missing something. Yes, I feel a huge hunger for something big that was never earlier published or something that will give us more info about the Old World. So I'm hoping that FFG will satisfy my hunger. But thats not the subject of this topic. After looking at what was published to this day I can only imagine that the plans for the WFRP will look like this after The Edge Of Night : - a sourcebook (maybe about the Empire or maybe about Skaven/ Chaos/ Greenskins) - a adventure supplement - an other sourcebook - a next adventure supplement The question only is will Jay give us a hint of what the future holds?
  9. Hi everyone, this was a really good news, on the updates Upcoming page we can see that The Winds Of Magic are now on the boat so we can gues that the release date will be July/August 2010. Now I think this is a good news becouse I can't wait for this one, so my players. I can only hope that this will be comming with The Edge Of Night just like The GM Tollkit was with The Gathering Storm. PS. It would be nice if Jay would give us a next sneakpeak at what's coming next this year and what are the plans for future.
  10. I got a lot of expirience with other card games and I think that a small deck (in W:I that would be 50 cards) is better. It gives us more chance to play the card that we want and need to play our strategy. But the minus of a small deck it that when the opponet has some good card that can discard our hand or make us to take more cards we can lose with no card in the pile. So the small deck is really good in W:I but I prefer playing a bigger deck, why? It's easy, it gives me more pleasure when playing, more options even when the chance of getting the right card is smaller but my opponent don't have the chance of winning by discarding my deck. And yes, Wytefang wrote here that W:I is unique and a bit different when it comes to deck building. That's true but it is still a card game (and one of the best I played ever) so You need to think of a strategy that You will use when playing. So my advice for someone that does not know how he want's to play (small or bigg deck) is that You should try all of them and then make Your mind.
  11. I think that a new Deluxe Expansion should have new armies. So I hope to see: - special Skaven - Vampire - Lizardman - Tomb Kings Those could make a revolution in W:I, maybe we will se them in 2011. Becouse I don't think that FFG would announce a new Deluxe Expansion sooner then 2011.
  12. mac40k said: Of course anyone that doesn't need the cards because they either aren't playing currently or using these cards in their game can afford to wait until the official reprints are released and doesn't need to waste the ink or toner printing these out. It's still a nicer solution for those of us that are using them than just issuing errata for the cards and leaving it up to you to either deface your existing cards with a pen or else keep remembering to refer to the errata during play while waiting for the official reprints to be released. Also, putting out the pdfs is nice for those people who may not be interested in buying whatever release the reprint cards end up being a part of. Yes, I agre with You Mac40k. I'm going to wait for them with the next expansion but still it is good that the pdf versions of those cards are avaliable for download - thanks Ynnen!
  13. Maybe it's not official but it better then the rule "attack only the player on the left". Nice one.
  14. This is not a good idea to play this solo. I don't even know how could You do it. Those secret missions and playing against each other. You can't really be Saouron and the Heroes in one person. If You really whant a game set in Tolkiens World You should try somethign different like - Lord of The Rings: board game or War of The Ring. Middle Earth Quest is just not the same as Runebound, it would be really hard to play alone this game.
  15. mac40k said: The pdf files are pretty much exactly the same size as the cards, just without the corners rounded off. If you keep your cards in sleeves, you can print them out, trim them up, and slide them right into the sleeve over the existing card. I agre, it's really a good idea but why do that? If FFG will make a printed version of those cards and they will be avalaible for free with the next upcomming expansion for WFRP. I will wait, of coure if any one needs them right now then Your idea is the best way to do it.
  16. For me it would be great if FFG would mnake some new additional armies like: Skaven Vampire Lizardman I think that does would be great to have and they are so unique in the Warhammer setting that they should get there armies with Capitals. What goes about Skaven, I think it's not the last what we heared about them. So we need to be patient and wait for next battle packs. I would be very happy to see more of Skaven cards.
  17. ynnen said: Talent Card: Aqshy Order Melee Attack Card: Double Strike Ranged Attack Card: Rapid Fire Our goal is to re-print these cards and include the revised versions in an upcoming product. So In witch new prodect we will see the revised version of those cards? Is it The Winds Of Magic or the Edge Of Night? And when will we see them?
  18. Who carres about the Collages of magic when You can learn about the Dark Arts. Yes, Holly Changer Of Ways, I can't wait for this one.
  19. So now the most importent question: When will we see it? Summer is all three months long so when- june, july, august? It's all looking well - this summer we will get two new supplements for WFRP.
  20. The Edge Of Night looks sweet, it's looking really cool. I never thought I will see a second adventure so soon but it's ok with me. It's never too much of WFRP 3ed But I hope that it's not the end for this year - I would love to see some more supplemtns that cover the world now olny adventures. I'm hoping for a big one with The Winds Of Magic - I hope that whey will cover all Magic Careers not olny for Empire Mages but also for Greenskin, Beastman and Chaos. Also High Elves careers woukld be great to see. So I'm hoping that in the near future we will see some more good Supplements like the ones from 2nd edition about Empire, Bretonia or Skaven.

  22. Ok. so new monsters and NPC stand up are good, the GM screen is great but is the book worth buying? The GM book form GM Toolkit is good with lots of hooks for the GM - this can be really usefull when creating scenarios. Godd thing is that the book shows You options how You can use does items and places from this expansion. new item are looking well and new loacation cards are usefull that I cam say. If You are going to create Your own scenarios and want some new point of view this book is for You. Especially if You are a starting GM in WFRP setting then buy it. Oh I almost forgot one of the best thing in this book are the Nemesis rules and optional rules. There is also a chapter about Exp points for a starting and a experienced GM. This is a good title but if I would have to chose what to buy the GM Toolki or The Gathering Storm then the campain wins. the Gathering Storm is great with new spells (for Chaos Beasts, Orcs and Necromancers), items, location cards and a great chapter about the city Stromdorf. This campain rocks!
  23. Noisy_Marine said: At my store we just say you can only attack the person on your left. It works pretty well. Now this is a really easy rule to use but still I would like to see a FFG special official rules for multiplayers games. I would like to play with my friends on a 3v3 combat or 4v4.
  24. Ok, it's almost after the event so can anyone share with us some news about upcomming products for WFRP?
  25. ynnen said: To address the design and gameplay imbalance the original text presented, three cards from the WFRP Core Set have been revised. Talent Card: Aqshy Order Melee Attack Card: Double Strike Ranged Attack Card: Rapid Fire Low-rez and High-rez PDF versions of these cards are available for download from the WFRP Support Page. Our goal is to re-print these cards and include the revised versions in an upcoming product. Ok, it's godd the hear that. So now we are waiting for some new announcment about the new products. Oh, and by the way - The Gathering Storm ROCKS! It's one of the best campains that I ever saw - it's really good even comparing to The Enemy Within.
