  1. Drexlin said: For all those who are interested, since there seems like there is a demand for it, I've launched a trade board for Warhammer Invasion on my site. Check the link in my sig! This is a good idea. Besides You can always find new players that play W:I in your FLGS. Maybe someone is collecting only Chaos and Your'e interestet only in Orcs so buy yourself only one battle pack and share the cards. Oh, and I presonaly don't know a store that would not trade with cards. There are many players that would trade cards - especialy when they are gathering only one or two armies. So look and ask in your FLGS. It's really not that hard. PS. Oh, and I don't have such a problem. I've got a collectors soul and I have them all. PS2. And a big thanks to FFG that the second cyrcle will have 60 cards and 3 copies of each.
  2. Just like Mac40k said - see rulebook pages 45 and 51. It's all there - just choose one succes line. It's really simple - You will see and have fun.
  3. The Lord of the Rings references are just here for fun. But I like to use them form time to time to see those suspicious smiles on my players faces. I started with those characters when I got the adventure Eye For an Eye and did not have to much time to work with it. So I figured out this could be fun. But the main reason is that my players know those characters and they are connecting them with special elements form Tolkien - and they always get a nasty suprise at the end. And one more thing - It's easier for them to remeber the names and they like that little connection between adventure even when the previous characters are dead. You know that keeps the Old world always moving forward when they want. Oh and I just remebered one more thing - some time ago I made a session when my players where chasing there previous characters. That was fun! If You clould see there faces when in the end they saw there own character and had to kill them. That was a nasty suprise.
  4. I also use a binder for all the action cards. All the small card I'm keeping in string bags. I bought a small plastic box for all the tokens and the stand ups are in the box fro Adventures Toolkit. The career cards are in the players box. And every thing is in the core set box even the GM screen. Only the books are standing right next to them - I really often like to look in them (not necessarily on the session ).
  5. Try to find the site of known artists that work with FFG nad Games Workshop for art. There are many famous: Adrian Smith, Clint Langley, Alex Boyd, Karl Kopinski, Paul Daiton, John Blanche, David Gallagher, Ian Miller. Just search for them on the net and You will find many great arts for Warhammer. And if You want more great fantasy art then I recommend the site of John Howe and Alan Lee. This is not Warhammer but Lord Of The Ring stuff but still those are magnificent.
  6. Great calendar Sunatet, very good and usefull.
  7. I think the names are not difficult to pronounce but sometimes to remember - yes. And I learned German for more then 7 years. But someone who has not got a clue and never used/learned German this can be difficult - I I believe.
  8. The first pack for The Enemy Cycle should be avaliable in the end of June (so I heared in my FLGS). I don't know when the rest will come.
  9. talismanisland said: Just noticed the addition of the "key" for FFG Card Sleeves over at the game's description page. It requires 7 Mini American packs which is between 300 and 350 sleeves! Sleeve-tastic! Yes, that's true. I can't wait to see every one of them..
  10. If You have a problem with accent just listen to Rammstein. That could help You a little bit. About the German names for Inns - I don't agre. This is not a good idea. Persons names are sometimes hard to remember and when You give that kind of names to all stores and Inn it will be a massacre. Let's stay with The Red Moon Inn.
  11. I love reading the adventures for WFRP but I also like to make some changes so the players (even when they got the opporunity to read it) will have many suprises. So this is my idea of playing with a lot of humor and fun. I use it with my first team, the second also and now I'm going to use it with 3rd but not from the begining. I will decribe it all but not with many detailes. Use Your imagination . The first thing is that the team will have a BN he's name is Samwise Gamgee - he is a halfling. A good cook and a gradner. He does not have many skills in battle but he is a trustfull friend. He got a letter from his old companion - Frodo Baggins who has a problem in his Hunting Lodge (use the maps and descriptions of Grunewald Lodge - it could be in any place of the Empire if You wish). Frodo is and adventurer and He is a little bit different then others halflings - He likes to travel a lot. But after many adventures He married with Rosy and settled in the Lodge. A month ago something happened - the servant one by one got missed. Frodo does not know why - he payed them good and treated them well. So why they run away. And a couple days ago Rosy got sick. Why and what happened, this is a mystery. She was full of life and suddenly She is not getting out of bed. She does not want to eat, and she is so pale - it looks like the life was drained out of her. So Frodo wrote a letter to Sam asking for help. Sam is comming but with friends (the players team). What really happened - the Cult that's hidding was draining blood out of Rosy and used it in his rituals under the Lodge. They awoke a demon that was slliping in the painting. But they can't control his. The Demon wants blood, so Gregor Pierson, Berthof Granhof, Otto Geizhals and Karla Wagner made a aliance and were sacreficing other members of the cult and servants to the demon but He wanted more and more. They can't refuse His - He has power over them. So Gregor Pierson is made a pact with Him - no other memeber of the Cult know about it but Gregor is goigng to sacrifice all of them and release the Demon for gold and power in the final Ritual. Karla does not know that Gregor is going to use Schlaf against them all. The Lodge is full of suprises - it looks as the Grunewald Lodge but there is one more secret room - Frodo is hidding there his most precious tresure - a gold magic ring. No one knows about it - only Frodo. The Lodge was also full of servants - other halfling (use the stats from Eye for an Eye but with a Str -1 becouse those are only halfling) but now the only survivers besides Frodo and Rosy are Gregor Pierson, Berthof Granhof, Otto Geizhals and Karla Wagner. The adventure is almost the same it start with a beastman attack (but a smaller group) and theres a importent change - it end with the sacrifice of Rosy and Frodo and Sam must live. It's important if You would like to use my next adventure. After this Frodo is asking for one more favour. He wants to bury Rosy on and Old cemetery. There is an old Pierst living there who is traveling the souls of the dead to the other side. So The team agrees that's a good idea. Bucouse Sam got heavy wounded he is traveling to the nearest town (maybe even Stromdorf ). So Frodo and the team are alone on this mission. The rainy and old cemetery is setteled in a scarry, dark forest with on a swamp with many barrows. Players can meet there many dangers. But thegreatest suprose is waiting for them on the cemetery. The old priest of Morr is a blind hermit. He lives alone for a special reson - this cemetery is one of those places in the Empire where the world of the living and the dead are connected. So when the ritual beging the dead are gathering and the dead Rosy awakes. What will players do? The only smart anwser is to run away and cut your way out of there. But Frodo is staying with his love. What happins to his - who knows. Those where the first adventures I run. Now I'm working on a little bit changed version of The Gathering Storm. Sam is Stromdorf, he is makeing buying beer in Thunderwater Inn and is trying to get the recipe for the famous beer. Everything goes fine until the city is closed for a quarantine. People are getting sick from water. Who is poisoning the wells and why the clouds are getting darker with every day? My new heroes must find the anwsers and quickly before the great Storm that's comming!
  12. My first team was: Human - Thug, Human - Wizard Apprentice from the Grey Order, Human - Initiate of Shallya most of them got killed in the Grey Mountains. That was when they found a small Chaos Dwarfs temple (on the 5th session). The reason was they got a stupid idea of burrning it all down with dwarf bombs (found in the dungeons below the temple). They almost made it out - the only surviver was the the wizard apprentice. Second team was: Human - Wizard Apprentice (the only surviver - he was a rank two Mage), High Elf - Sword Master, Wood Elf - Waywatcher. They also got killed - they did not survived an orc attack at a small village. They died in battle with honour (3rd session). I'm hoping that the 3dr team will have more luck and will live a little bit longer. But who known - the Old World is a dangerous place.
  13. Yes, there's a one rule that I think must be used in multiplayer: - First Player Penality should be - 1st player must skip his Battlefield phase but he still has his Quest phase. This is the only change I would make in the official rules from the core set.
  14. Ok, like every one I have my own multiplayer ideas> Every one for himself (for 3 or 4 players): - everyone is fighting with everyone - each zone in every capital has 10 Health Pionts - the game goes normal (everyone has 1 Kingdom, 1 Quest and 1 Battlefield phase) with one exeption in the Battlefield You can attack two players. Every attack goes in one zone - you can't attack the same player twice the same turn. - the winner must burn 3 zones (2 in one players Capital and 1 in the second players Capital) Fight in Couples (for 4 players): - sit like would play bridge - the teams must be all Order or Destruction - each zone in every capital has 12 Health Pionts - everyone has 1 Kingdom, 1 Quest and 1 Battlefield phase. With one exeption in the Battlefield You must attack two players (one on the left and one on the right - If You can't you choose the player you are going to attack). Every attack goes in one zone - you can't attack the same player twice the same turn. - the winning team must burn 3 zones (2 in one players Capital and 1 in the second players Capital) I ihink my rules are simple and maybe someone will like it - and maybe even use them like me.
  15. Curator said: Just noticed guys that the three cards, higher ground, spasms, and runesmith are not in the next AP. Look at their numbers. AP 1 has cards 1-20 in it. OOPS! Yep, your'e right. So for some of those cards we will have to wait a little bit longer.
  16. Sunatet said: "Chapter Four: Exotic Magic Disciplines" Excited Looks like I'm not the only one excited about this one
  17. Now it's next week, so when will we see another sneak preview of what's comming up in The Winds Of Magic? I can't wait for this one, especialy for the Chaos chapter.
  18. Mal Reynolds said: Gnomes can be found in the bestiary chapter of wfrp 1, together with other wonderfull creatures that where left out in 2nd edition (troglodyte, fimir, just to mentioned a few). In 2nd edition, gnome was never mentioned at all. all traces of it been erased. for 3rd edition, all I can say is: who knows what the future will bring. I agre, the bestiary in the 1st edition was big - really big and unique. In the 2ed many of very intersting creatures were missed - I don't know why. About 3ed - just like You said who knows what the future will bring.
  19. Interesting idea, maybe FFG will do some new armies for Invasion then Wood Elves coold be for Order section and Skaven could be a new armie (not neutral cards) for Destruction.
  20. Darkdeal thanks for the post about the percent chance to draw a specific card. Very interesting.
  21. Curator said: From the latest GTM that my store hands out for free. Looks like we are still getting Skaven But I have faith in James vision for the game. More Skaven and Chaos, YES! I love it and can't just wait for The Burning of Derricksburg.
  22. Looks like June/July 2010 will be The Winds Of Magic time so maybe in August/September we will see The Edge Of Night.

  24. reidchapman said: maybe engaged - 1 square away close - 6 squares away medium - 12 squares long - 24 extreme - 48 You can use the idea from Reidchapman or my. It's a little bit smaller (fit for a medium table ). I use the map from Descent: The Sea Of Blood. It's easy to use becouse it's not a board just a map so You can fold it the way You like. It works like this: engaded = 1 square away (next to the character) close = 3 squares away medium = 5 squares away long = 9 squares away extreme = 15 squares away I really like the FFG satnd-ups, those got the real feel of the Old World. But the idea of minis is good if the players want it, personally I use the ones from Descent, Talisman from time to time. If I don't have a perfect mini - use the stand-up.
