  1. This battle pack is far much better then redemption of a Mage was. It has many realy good cards but WHY SO FEW FOR CHAOS? And the Dwarfs and Empire are not the most powerful sites in the game. At the last tournament I saw that many players played them, now after this I think that most decks in every tournament will be made based on those. I don't know why but the Destruction is now weak compareing to Order. So where is that balance that was promised after this cycle?
  2. Ok, this is a shocking news but the polish publisher of Warhammer:Invasion shipped to the stores the polish version of the battle pack. So in many stores Czwarty Kamien Sciezki (that's the polish name for The Fourth Waystone) is avaliable from yesterday in 24h. Can anyone explain to me how is that possible? The was no US premiere of this battle pack and Galakta - the polish publisher - is selling it. And that's no pre-order!
  3. Trystero - I understand You. I got a collectors soul so I will buy those G&V products. But still I think that FFG should keep there word that those are the only G&V products and there will be no more of them. Oh and if You lisened careful what Jay said at the seminar - all products will still be comming in normal version so all in one box. And that makes me happy , becouse I love this format. I love to buy it all in one box where I have a book, cards and all I need. And like JL said the G&V products are not changing this format so The Witche's Song, Omens Of War and The Black Fire Pass will be in boxes just like The Gathering Storm or Signs of Faith. I just hope that this week we will hear some more from Jay about our favourite WFRP game.
  4. shinma said: I don't know what the official word is, but I suspect we'll see one more set of guides and vaults after the ruinous powers cycle is complete (as no doubt it will contain the new wounds and perm wounds mechanic from the Omens set and whatever nastyness we hit with the slaanesh set). Its sort of an 'update' for the game, and a re-organization of all the 'stuff'. And honestly, I'll pick up these guides, and probably those too. I imagine they can't keep doing it though, as the volume of new information will eventually make those books dictionary sized. I will say it like that - if there will be next year some new Guides & Vaults that that would mean that FFG don't cares about the fans and disrespects them. Becouse true fan are buying the game - every expansion and then FFG publishes Guides and Vaults. With those G&V products FFG shows fans that there is no need to buy normal expansions becouse we can buy a cheaper version and have the same things. I hope that Jay Little will keep his word and like He said at GenCon and the Small But Vicious Seminar THERE WILL BE NO MORE GUIDES & VAULTS! Only those are coming becouse this is and optional version of the core set. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be no more G&V products.
  5. Kharrak said: Well, based on when all the guides and vaults went up on the Upcoming section, and looking at their estimates... the expected time of arrivial is between the 29th of this month, and the 23rd of December. However, I do see many online shops listing them as a late January release - Maelstrom games listing them as 22 of Jan. Several shops are listing The Witch's Song as an early February release. I don't trust Amazon or Maelstrom, they always have a realy far release dates. The product is far a long time avaliable in my FLGS and they don't have it. Oh, and don't look at the Upcoming section. There's a little mess in there. One example - I'm a Invasion fan and I waiting for The Fourth Waystone. James Hata said that it will be avalibale in two weeks and the status of it was at the printer. So You see, those are just tips that show not alway the correct status of the game. According to many shops in Europe the Guides & Vaults will be avaliable about the end of november, so I'm waiting. I must say that I would be very pleased when we would see some new news from Jay Little. He could say what is the status and maybe give us some more new sneak pick? Let's hope that we will not have to wait too long for some new WFRP Designers Dairy.
  6. korknadel said: Although I'm looking forward to the Guides and Vaults, I find it unfortunate, that we have to wait on four products (the GM and Player Guide/Vaults), that don't have new content instead of waiting for four new adventures, campaigns and sourcebooks . Sure I want to have the new rulebooks, but what I'm reaaly crazy about ist new stuff like Witch's Song (Hello there, topic!), Omens of War and Black Fire Pass. And I hope that in the future there won't be any Guides and Vaults. Only the real good stuff. I agre with You. It's stange that we have to wait so long for those and there will be no new material in. And, just like You said, I'm also hoping that there will be no more Guides and Vaults. Only the Creature Guide and Vault will bring new goods in the game. The rest is just a reprint. That what really interest me are those completely new products that will bring all new material to the game like: The Witch's Song (in should be in January 2011 avaliable), Omens Of War & Black Fire Pass (acording to some shops - those will be avaliable in March/April 2011). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all Guides&Vaults will hit the stores or be shipping this week.
  7. My idea is looks like this - whne my players fail the Fear/Terror test they lose the free manouver. If they fail the test the second time they gain the misfortune (Fear) or Challenge (Terror) dice to all the tests. The 3rd time they fail the test they gain the Frightened condition. That gives them the feeling of Fear/Terror in the game.
  8. I just got a question - I heared that the Guides & Vaults product will be avalaible in the end of november (in the next week) is that true? And I heared a rumour that the Witches Song will be avaliable in January 2011, can anyone confirm those dates?
  9. I don't know how You but I realy can't wait for the Guide&Vaults products. Acording to my FLGS they should be avaliable in the end of november but there is no comcrete date. So I was looking on the net and I found that one store in Germany say that those will be avaliable on 30th November. That could be true, so I have my fingers crossed for that. In the products description page they have a status of avaliable sonn. What do You think? Maybe Jay Little could give us a anwser about the Guides&Vaults and when will they be avaliable? I just hope that very soon. I got my pre-ordered in september/october and now I'm just waiting for there ariaval. Oh, and in the upcoming section I got a feeling there's a big mess. I don't know why, maybe it's becouse of the end of this year or something.
  10. Ok, so readed all SoF carefuly and it's a great expansion - after Winds of Magic - a must have. But I have a strange feeling that Nurgle is much more powerful than Tzeentch. Have You also got that feeling? He can regenerate, he has disease and a band of powerful daemons. Tzeentch now looks like a weenie compareing to his. Maybe it's just a feeling but still. What do You think?
  11. Got my last friday. I was worth waiting. It great!
  12. Spawn of Itzl is a neutral Lizardman unit with this action: When this unit attacks, destroy target damaged unit in the defending zone. If I will attack with this unit must the opponent opposed in combat (defend), before I can use his abbility? Or I can just triger this abbility right after I willl declere witch zone I'm attacking? I think that I can just use it right after declaring witch zone I'm attacking. But I'm not sure. Who do You understand this?
  13. Wow, now this an announcment. It will bring such crads like: Light of Morrslieb And the first battlepack will bring: Ungor raiders (Chaos), River Troll (Orcs), Dark Elves Infiltrators (DE), neutral cards - Wood Elves and Forest Spirits Can't wait for more info. Warhammer Invasion is growing and I like it! For me the next cycle is even better then Enemy Cycle becouse it looks far more interesting. Let the real War for the Old World begin.
  14. Interesting idea Keltheos. And as, Emirikol said, a very nice describtion of how to use then in a little diferent way.
  15. His ability works in combat, attacking and defending. That's a amiazing unit, one of the best in the Empire deck. I got a place for him in my deck.
  16. For me the atlernative future looks interesting and gives a lot of potential to the game. But still it's only a alternative version. I think that setting a campain it that time would give my players a little feeling like they would play Midnight. So Evil is everywhere, You can't rust no one, everybody could be a traitor - and that would be really a grimm session. But you can alway do such a thing just in the time of Archaon, so there is no need to jump to the alternative future.
  17. Ok, so it looks like we are going to have Signs of Faith in a week or two in stores. That's great becouse I can't wait for Nurgle minions and my players for some new priest characters. After there sudden death in the last adventure, two many critical wounds, they want to play as a religious character for some change. Ok, but I got another question, why in the upcoming section there is not a word about the coming products like Guides & Vaults? Acording to my store there are going to be avaliable in november, so why there are not on the boat not even at the printer? Can someone explain that to me?
  18. Signs of Faith is shipping now, wow so it's only 10 days until it hits the store. Wow, so maybe Europe will not have to wait until december. Thanks to FFG! I hope Jay will give us now some more info, news Designers Dairy and a official announcment of Guides & Vaults products.
  19. keltheos said: Might have suffered from the same issue that TGS did when it first hit the shores (was it TGS? I can't remember) and they had to delay it for some reason (printing issues, packaging, unknown but some quality control situation, I'd guess). Also, never discount the immense delays products shipped from China can experience once they hit US soil. God Bless Customs. No, it was Game Masters Toolkit I think - it also had a delay becouse of the quality. I think this is the only reason why it's still on the boat. So I think I will wait becouse I rather will have a good high quality product then have it sooner in low quality.
  20. Yes, it looks like we are going to see this product in december in Europe, according to many stores that have it in pre-order. Signs of Faith is "on the boat" with the update 10/5/2010 so it looks like it's going to be on this boat for very long time. I would say maybe we will see it in november, and that's a optymistic version. I think we will see sooner the Guides & Vaults products. That's funny but this could be true. Becouse according to my FLGS in november we will see all the Vaults plus Players Guide and Game Master's Gude. And in december we will have Signs of Faith and Creature Guide. So the end of this year will be a very hot time for WFRP.
  21. Sunatet said: keltheos said: When's Faith hitting? My local store just added it to the offer with release date scheduled on... December... Thats even more strange, when you know, they have all the guides and vaults scheduled on November (well except Creatures Guide which has also release date set on December). But thats Europe, maybe something is different here... Anyway, I ordered it all except the guides (still waiting for some answer from FFG on possibility of collectors edition, and since I have all the boxed stuff I can wait till the guides are out). I could not agre more with Sunatet., maybe even we share the same FLGS and we don't now about it? According to my friends at the store the avaliability in Europe looks like this: November: GM Guide & Vault, Players Guide & Vault, Creatures Vault December: Signs of Faith, Creatures Guide One thing only bothers me - why at the GenCon Jay said that Signs of Faith will be avaliable soon after GenCon? Is december soon? I don't get it. It looks like we are going to get first almost all Guide & Vaults products and after that the Signs of Faith, that should be avaliable earlier.
  22. Ok, it look's like this. Player's Guide And Game Master's Guide are the two books that with the Vaults will be a new optional version of the core set. In the books You will have no new content, so if You have the core set you don't need them. In those books there will be more examples of play and all the content from cards it tables. Plus those book will come with a new alternative Character Sheet (it should be on the last page so You must print it on Your own - like in the 1st edition). Also those books will show an alternative way of play without cards and tokens but you will have to write it all down (the way I see it - You will have to have it all on you cahracter sheet or use the book al the time). The book will cover all the material for Players and GM's to the Signs of Faith, so you will have all careers, talents, maybe actions to but I'm not sure in one book (in GM Guide will will find Corruption and Disease rules). So this is an alternative version of the core set. If then You will want to buy the cards You can buy Players Vaults and Game Masters Vault (but You will not get only the cards form the core set). All the future expansions (adventures and sourcebook alike) will come updated but still in old format so - one box full of components (cards, tokens, stand ups ect.) and a with a book inside. - those are JL words from the Small But Vocious Seminar. The only book that will have new content is Creatures Guide. it will have a lot of background informations and stats for new and old monsters. And Creatures Vault will have all the new cards like: new action cards for monsters and Creature cards. Also it will contain updated monsters/creatres to Signs of Faith, so all creatures from the core set, Winds of magic, Signs of faith and all adventures will get cards. So it's really worth to buy it. This is how I understood all the info that Jay shared with us. I hope this helped. PS. I almost forgot, and according to my FLGS we will see all this in november 2010. So I will keep my fingers cross for that.
  23. Yes, Forgeworld is not GW but still this alternative future is a hammer for me. I like it and if I will get a chance to read this book I will sure do so. It's a interesting future that gives me as a GM all new options. I set my campains in the time of Sigmar, in the time of Three Emperors or even in the time of Magnus the Pious but most of my adventure is set in the years 2520-2523 so Karl Franz. Now this alternative future will give me a new perspective. I could make a session with the alternative future, when Chaos rules the Empire and my adventures are rebels who fight against them (this would give this session a little bit the same feeling like in Midnight). I just hope this book will be as good as can be. I don't know how You but I'm interested in it and I will treat this book as one more background title (like Liber Chaotica, Loathsome Ratmen ect.). PS. I'm very curiuos how Karl Franz died and what happened to Archaon? This is a balnk page in the Warhammer history, I hope this book will fill it.
  24. keltheos said: ...quickly to be listed as sold out and delayed shipping until 1/15/11. This could be true but only at amazon. I just ordered them at my FLGS, so I will get new WFRP products this year. I just hope it will be soon.
  25. No, try to use the info about Lazarus Mourn from The Gathering Storm. He has a stance 1R/3C, and on page 44 You will find how a necromancer gathers Power. In Gathering Storm You will find many useful informations about necromancers. Try to work with it and You will create your own dark sorcerer.
