Gallows said: The reason I want all the guides is to replace my soft cover books with hard back. But it's aways nice to know that I can buy one of the other vaults if a card is lost or something similar. But I want the three guides to replace my current 7 books with 3. I may get the other vaults though, just to have a second set of action cards that I can use for NPCs (since not all action cards will be present in the creatures vault). That will make it easy to create encounters. Just jot down the stats and what cards the npc has. Currently I am making all NPCs in strange eons. Four NPCs on an A4 page with room for six action cards. Looks nice but it takes time. Just being able to have the stats and what cards to add would be great. Yes, that's a good reason but in those 3 book is not everything from the previous I think. I will see and compare when I will get those in my hands. And You don't have to no more make Your own creature cards - You will get all those in the Creatures Vault. I hope that those news from Uk are true and we will see all the Guides & Vaults next week in Europe. It will be great when this happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this great news next week.

I'm confused: Is the boxed core set being rolled out?
ffgfan replied to xenoss's topic in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
Inquisitor Huntingmoon said: I have a question for the class then: I own the original box set. Am I better off buying the supplements or the new core material? I am interested in using less fiddly bits but I am ok with them as well, its not a deal breaker for me. I will likely buy the players manual and GMs manual for the updates and alternate rules, but how much new stuff am I gettting? Basically, Help. In those two You mentioned - Players Guide & GM Guide - You're not getting anything new. There are just new example of play and nothing more. Some importent knowledge from the core set is now in two hardcover books. It looks like this - Players Guide has all carrers to Signs of Faith in it, also a lists of action cards, talents. And that's all. GM Guide has all knowledge from the core set for a GM plus Mutation, Corruption and Disease. You also get tables with critical, miscast ect. So You can roll dice d100 the calssical way. So it those two there's nothing new, You're not missing anything new. Was it helpful? I hope so. PS. All this is mentioned it the previews and in the video from Small But Vicious Seminar. Just look at WFRP section at FFG site and You will find it all. -

Spivo said: ffgfan said: So yes the G&V has currentlypublished stuff (but not everything) only exception are Creature V&G with has many new material. I entrust my purchase in you then Spivo - for real the Creature Guide & Creature Vault is a must have becouse it has many new material. Looking only in the preview we see some dragons and it will future also: Griphon, Dark Elves, Squigs, Black Orcs and looking at the art in the preview I can tell it will also have some new Skavens in it. And the Creature Vault will upgrade all the creature from other products to cards and give us a lot of new Action cards for creatures. So I think You will pleased and happy when You will buy them. -

Spivo said: So... I have everything published now. Will think about the hardcovers, might or might not get them. But the vaults? What extra will they bring to me? Sorry, but don't understand it... Do the vaults just contain the cards and chips, you won't get from the Guides? So Guides+Vaults = Currently published stuff? Ok I will try to anwser this one: The Creature Guide will have many new info (becouse it will future some new creatures) - You can see it in the preview. The Creature Vault will have a lot of new stuff - action cards for all published so far creatures, creature cards, stand ups and new creature group cards. But the Players Guide and GM Guide has nothing new - just some published stuff form the core set books with new examples of play and errata as far as I know. So it's not a must have to buy when You have all the published so far products. And about Players Vault and GM Vault - it has nothing new. It only has some extra basic action cards and some errata on cards. So nothing new. So yes the G&V has currentlypublished stuff (but not everything) only exception are Creature V&G with has many new material. -
keltheos said: Also quite possible the card packs and bound books come from different printers as well. Yes, that's also possible. But still I hope to see a news or something about those products (G&V) and there status or/and other expansions for WFRP. Maybe a new Designers Dairy about the Witch's Song, that would be nice.

I'm confused: Is the boxed core set being rolled out?
ffgfan replied to xenoss's topic in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
It's is looking like this: - the Guides & Vaults are the optional version and the core set still will be sold - the core set is still the best way to start playing WFRP (You have all what You need in one box) - the Guides are a good idea for player's and GM's who want to have everything in one book or what to play with less cards or tokens - in the future all other expansions will still be sold in boxes so nothing changes in the way of publishing WFRP. So You will be getting the book or books, all the cards, tokens and stand ups in a box just like it was before. Just like the Winds of Magic, Gathering Storm or Signs of Faith. So nothing in WFRP changes and the Guides and Vaults are the optional version only and nothing more. -
Ok, so here's what is unknow for me and I don't know how it it. The Bleeding Sun - battle pack for Warhammer: Invasion is shipping now and the Guides & Vaults are still on the boat, why and how? Bleeding Sun was for the same time as Guides & Vaults in the upcoming section on the boat and now Bleeding Sun is shipping and G&V products are still waiting for there turn. I don't unterstand this. Why after more then a month of waiting we still have to wait? The other products are now shipping we have to wait even after all where updated in the upcoming section the same time. So when will we see all the G&V products at stores? I hope that this will be in the next week, so everybody not only in US but also in Europe can spend there Christmas enjoying time with there favoured game.
-
Ok, this is a big suprise - Bleeding Sun is shipping now! So in a week or two it will be at stores - hopely also in Europe.
-
Doc, the Weasel said: If it is like previous releases, they will most likely start shipping this week, and in stores next. That said ... The guides aren't like previous supplements (no components), so they may not conform. FF could also be waiting until they have all the guides and vaults ready before shipping so that they hit stores all at once. I hope You're right and we will see all the Guides & Vaults shipping this week. Or even better today. I wish to get the new products before Christmas. I've ordered them in october at my FLGS, so I'm just waiting until they will be released and shipped to my home. I just can't wait to get them in my hands. And after that to show them to my players and use them at my sessions. FFG, please release all those products! Pretty please!
-
There is still hope that we will see all the G&V products any day now (I hope it will be 30th november or before 6th december ). See in the WFRP page in the products section - all the new products are described as avaliable soon. I can say only one thing - I WANT THEM ALL AND I WANT THEM NOW!
-
Ok, so for a long time now we can see that the Guides & Vaults are on the boat (about a month now). So when will they hit the stores? If I'm correct they should be avaliable at the end of this year. Many shops that I know are saying that the release date is 30th November but is this true? Will we see them before Christmas in Europe? It would be great but is this true? Also we haven't heared for a long time nothing from Jay, where did the Designers Dairies go? When will we see some more news about our favourite game?
-
Ok, here's the topic "The Witch's Song" about the Guides & Vaults: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=149&efcid=3&efidt=404592 But I will here clear thing up fo You. Many shops in Europe said that all the products will be avaliable on 30th November 2010 and now (last week when I talked to my FLGS) they said that it looks like everything should be in stores in mid-December 2010. But other sources like the Amazon says that those will be released on 11th January 2011. So nobody really know when the G&V products will be released! And nor FFG nor Jay Little is saying when it will hit stores. It should be released as soon as possible. I hope that I will see those products released in next week. But that's my wish and I don't know if it will happened. My advice is start looking for something different becouse there's no guarante that You will have them before Christmas. I hope that helped!

Harliquine said: Yesterday I picked up my usual batch of goodies from my local game shop and in it was GTM #130. And on pages 8 & 9 is a preview of the Morrslieb Cycle. Now in the preview they discuss a bit about some of the mechanics they wish to introduce to the game. Nothing magic the gathering silly like but rather things like actions which let you flip cards back and forth from faceup to facedown developements. So you won't need a special rule book or anything. And they do show off four cards from the set. That said two of those cards I believe we have seen before in FFG weekly card previews. One is the Light of Morrslieb, neutral support "warpstone" 4R 2P that lets you play an extra developement from your hand, and the other is the Treeman Ancient, an order only neutral unit 5R 2P 4HP "wood elf/forest spirit" that has both toughness 1 and an action to flip it dacedown as a developement until the end of the turn. Both great cards but we've seen them. The two I haven't seen are big. Here's some shots from my iphone. Now those are huge game changers. I believe the hidden grove will bring back empire jumping jacks/judgement in a big way as there is little you can do to stop them. The chaos tactic on the other hand is great. It both gives you a developement and lets you sacrifice developements anywhere in your capital in order to do damage to a target unit or capitial. We just need some faster ways of getting developements into play now and then chaos might return to competitive play with bloodthirsters and tactics like this. In the same article they also have some preview artwork on the page borders that signals we might be getting a wood elf female spell caster and a dark elf witch hag or some sort. Perhaps characters? Ok, so the Treeman was not shown. But he is the prouf for what I heared - that the Forest Spirits will have the ability to become development and then go back to units. This Chaos new Spell - Unleashing The Spell - looks interesting and maybe finaly we will see more Chaos magic that will support Tzeentch. That's really good. I was just wondering about this Empire card - if it effect all the players in the game? While in play does it mean that my opponents units are useles in all zones with no develepment? If it's true that that one is a cheap and too powerfull card in my opinion.

Emirikol said: Just get the boxed set. If you like the system, have your players buy that other stuff. ..my two cents.. jh Yes, I agre. Just like Emirikol said buy the core set and enjoy the game. In other topic You said that your a little bit scared so don't be and give it a try. Buy the core set (it's cheaper the all the G&V products together) and You will have all what You need to play.

is Toughness considered to be a card effect ?
ffgfan replied to kerebrus's topic in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions
Severance said: From Rulebook: "Card Effects There are four different types of card effects in the Warhammer Invasion LCG. These are: actions, forced effects, constant effects and keywords" Toughness is a keyword - so yes, Tower Aspirant cancels Toughness as long he is in a Kingdom zone. If this is true - then the White Tower Aspirant is a amazing card that bypasses all. It's a very good and powerful cards and a cheap one too. -
I must say that Chaos in my opinion needs more cards that destroy develepment and support cards. Not only units like Ungor Raiders (destroy develepment when they leave play) but tactics. Oh and I don't know how You guys but i think that now there is only one good way to play the Chaos deck and it's Disease. I would like to see more of other Chaos Gods not only Nurgle. I would like to have a choise witch Chaos God will be the main in my deck. So I think that every Chaos God should have a little different strategy to play.

Great work, this organizer for players is very useful. Thanks for showing it to us.

Cwell2101 said: The 3 Guides & 3 Vaults products are listed as "on the boat" in the upcoming products page ... Those are on the boat from a month. And sometimes there was such sytuation when a game was only 2 weeks on the boat and then hit the stores (The Fourth Waystone is a good example here). So I just hope that the date 30th november is correct and all G&V products will hit the store that day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. Oh, and by the way. I hope that in december we will see The Witch's Song - designers dairy. And we are going to have a sneak peak at what will be in that adventure.

ChaosChild - don't get me wrong but only avaliable version is than in polish language and I don't like the translation - it's a disaster. So I have to wait for the english (original verion from FFG). If every thing goes wright I will get in 2 weeks according to my friendly store. @Wytefang - yes, I did not see You topic. Thank that You always take time to publish on web list of cards form every battle pack.
