  1. Thanks didn't actually notice the profile on page 372 before this, will have to take a look
  2. My idea was the owning player should portray them. so what do you make of my ideas, are they balanced and fair? baed them off the black crusade minion rules.
  3. this is a rough version of what i've come up with, all ideas and suggestions welcome: Advanced Comrades Advanced comrades follow all rules for Comrades for orders and Cohesion. though gain the following additional rules: Comrade characters Comrades are now much more like lesser characters, each having their own skills and characteristics. a comrade does not have fate points or gains experience, and if killed are replaced with a new comrade at the start of the next mission, though with a different identity. a character may have a maximum of 2 comrades. Comrade Cohesion Comrades still follow rules for cohesion. in addition a comrade always acts at the same initiative as their owning character. a comrade when within cohesion of their character may add +10 to all willpower checks. Comrade Character Generation 1. Characteristics: Each comrade has 2d10+15 for each characteristic. before rolling the player can choose up to two characteristics and apply a +5 to these scores. for each characteristic that gains this bonus, the player must choose another characteristic to suffer a corresponding -5 penalty. 2. Choose Regiment and Homeworld: unless allowed is usually the same as the owning character. can't be Abhuman. 3. Specialty: their specialty is always Comrade. see below 4. Wounds: A Comrade has wounds equal to double their toughness bonus plus 2. Comrade Specialty Starting Skills: Common lore (war, imperial guard), Medicae or Operate (surface) or Stealth or Awareness or Demolitions or Security Starting Talents: weapon training (las or solid projectile, low-tech) Specialist Equipment: no additional equipment except standard kit.
  4. I preordered mine on amazon as well, can't wait
  5. I will post what I come up with and see what you make of it
  6. I really like the comrade rules and how they benefit the squad but otherwise don't like the rules mechanics for them especially for combat. so my idea is combining them with the rules for minions for black crusade? still use the ideas for orders, cohesion etc but combine them with the characteristics and creation options for minions. what do you guys think? do you reckon this will work. i kind of like the idea for my campaign, as i don't use comrades at all, because the style of my campaign is elite black-ops small team operations.
  7. Well when I ran it my campaign is quite different to all the above. I run it as a black ops specialist campaign with each character from a different regiment (too many fun options not to ) though because of the style i dropped comrades and requisition works differently , each chosen for their own initiative and abilities (and sometimes other background reasons). they are sent on specialist, high importance missions like espionage, assassination and rescue missions so far the group has: eliminated the high command of a traitor force (based on the traitor general novel) defended a fortress from an ork horde, rescued a general from a traitor prison (inspired by world war 2 stalingrad) hunted down a rogue elite guard squad within a hive city, hope to run this soon, have some fun ideas
  8. Not too sure if this is where this should go, but: I am a really big fan of the only war combat system and the way specialties work and i had a cunning plan i am considering doing a conversion of Dark Heresy: Ascension through to Only war. with the ascended careers as Only War specialties, fine tuning and making them more balanced especially with the improved balances to certain abilities. I've been wanting to get back to GM'ing My conversion plan includes a modified character creation like below: 1. Home world: obvious character chooses origin. 2. Past Career: the career of the character before they ascended. basically a skill, talent and trait package. probably a fair decent package of choices reflecting the starting level of the character. 3. Ascended Specialty: the new ascended career specialties from crusader through to interrogator, will include starting gear and unique talents and traits. There will also be background packages and other dark heresy fun. what do you GM's think of this idea? any suggestions, comments or improvements welcome, and will happily publish work if interested when it is written.

  11. Hi forum So i was looking at the Only war rulebook and the new warhammer 40,000 eldar codex and an idea hit me. why not use the speciality, appitude options to create a craftworld eldar supplement for player characters? Hopefully have each of the craftworlds as a starting homeworld then choose a specialilty Craftworlds: Biel-Tan, Ulthwe, Saim-Hann, Alaitoc, Iyanden, Exodite? Specialities: Guardian, Ranger, Warlock, Dire Avenger, Howling Banshee, Striking Scorpion, Fire Dragon, Swooping Hawk, Dark Reaper, Warp Spider, Do you reckon this could work? ay suggestions, ideas or comments would be helpful. hoping to post this up here when published to share P.S personally i also reckon this should be the next logical step for the warhammer 40,000 roleplays either this or orks
  12. thanks for the help, as regards to the Untouchable thing i was thinking it would make an interesting gene-seed flaw for a cursed founding chapter.
