Ready to bring the North Georgia Armored Cavalry to bear! Give me a grid and SP time.

It is amazing how fast the suggestions for this all came together. I wish development in my firm were so responsive.

Scale also changes depending on if you measure from bottom of the feet to top of the head, or bottom of the feet to the eyes, both standards are used by different companies. On top of that depending on who the sculptor is will also change the scale of the mini.
Then again people do come in more than one height.
As an example of how far off one particular miniature company is from their purported "28mm" scale.

they do claim "Heroic 28mm" which means, "eh…well just make it up".
We only assume that the Guardsman is out of proportion, as we have no idea what proportions space faring humans of the 41st millenium will actually have! LOL.
Wow. 4th ID Soldiers are a bit small.

Hey! Where did you get the female pilot?

This unit is probably designed with Warfare rules in mind, therefore Airdrop would be effective against it, but that is more of a discussion for the Warfare Forum.

I wonder if we will see an Allied or SSU counterpart to this vehicle?

Awesome move on your opponents part.

There is a lot of good hard work there. Nice theme.

I require four of these beasts.

No problem with the report. Action Jackson operates the same.
Thanks for providing this utility!

Hm, good point. I guess I need to fix that so you can only take a support you normally could have taken.
No, I'm actually asking. I no those specialized platoons cant ordinarily take support choices, but I am unsure if you can circumvent that restriction by buying them a platoon upgrade. It would be nice if you could, allowing you to throw a Heinrich with them to cause suppression before the zombie onslaught begins.
Pages 132 and 134 say that neither of the platoons shall receive said platoon upgrades but must otherwise obey Axis platoon rules.
However, you could have another platoon with walkers, levy the Axis Extra Panzer Support upgrade, provide a screening action and then conduct a passage of lines with the gorillas screaming forward past the walkers.

Is it actually legal to buy "Extra Panzer" support for a zombie/gorilla platoon, allowing you to get a support choice you otherwise wouldn't have access to?
I just saw that as well.
Neither the Axis Gorilla Platoon led by Markus nor a Zombie Platoon led by Totenmeister are allowed any platoon upgrades whatsoever.

This is fantastic!
Can we get the option to add more than two platoons? Or am I missing something. I am using IE8.
Change the maximum # of points and it should let you do more.
Yeah, I did that. I changed it to 450, 500 and 1200. No effect. Adjust fire. Over.

Come Play DUST at Hobbytown in Kennesaw on February 9 at 18:00.

It is nice to have a historical basis for these units to add some personality to them. And of course, purely organic TOEs, MTOES and my big toe will not suffice and nor did they back then. I think it makes sense to apply some small unit tactics as exemplified by 6AD at Muehlhausen, where Combat Commands A & B were broken down down into three task forces each. CCA was tank heavy and CCB was infantry heavy. Mix and match was played dividing up organic units to fill functioning supporting requirements. In more open terrain one might wish to use a faster moving, armor heavy unit, while in town fighting would require more infantry. Two examples of the six task forces are listed below:
CCA: TF 15
15th Tank Battalion (-1 M4 Company)
Armored Infantry Company
Tank Destroyer Platoon
Armored Engineer Platoon
212th Armored Field Artillery Battalion
or
CCB: TF 50
50th Armored Infantry Battalion (-1 Company)
Medium Tank Company
Tank Destroyer Platoon
Armored Engineer Platoon
231st Armored Field Artillery Battalion
Yes, this is still heavy for Dust Tactics, but maybe not for Dust Warfare. We will have to wait and see. But the point is working down to manageable levels for individual and team play which have some personality but still function in the within the framework of the game, while allowing players to have a variety of unit names and histories to draw upon.
There are so many WW II units available that everyone should be able to have their own claim to fame. And of course, it is supposed to be 1947 or later which should add some flexibility to assembling some fun units.
Personally, I am partial to 1AD as I spent 11 straight years with them and had the pleasure to be able to interview, in an official capacity, many WW II veteran's of the divsion during that time. So, it is nice to have names to go with vehicles and figures.

Don't get me wrong, I have one for one Axis to Allies now, excluding the two Loths. I am sure I will have the fortitude to purchase the SinoSoviets if only under the justification that both of my sons and I each have access to a different faction.
I could play some Sundays as well. But with all this playing, when do you expect me to paint?

For German armor, I found this right off with a google search.

I am using the American armored division1943 light TOE as a basis for my units, but still working on mixing analog units with DUST.

You are correct sir!
I have to get started on something for the upcoming contest.
Believe it or not, I have more walkers on the way, along with some M8s and Bantams for my recon troop, and some M10s to be converted to M36s for a tank destroyer company, and some M4A3 76s for a tank company.
I am looking at setting up a cross section of 1st Armored Division to include artillery, engineers and other support elements.
I am hoping they will come out with some 90 mm gunned medium walkers for the Allies.
We need to get some more players so someone can pickup the SinoSoviets, or at least enough to have some team play.
-
Yeah! That was a good time. I wish I were nto on the road so much, but I scheduled another Meetup for the February 9.
Maybe some people will see that we are playing on a consistant basis and join in.
Surely, there are more than three people in the area who wish to play.
I need to find some time to catch up to you on painting.

Yeah, I was talking with Bill over at Hobbytown this week.
I work in Kennesaw, but live in Ellijay, so that is the nearest place for me.
I have built a substantial collection of units thus far and have more on the way. We'll be able to have some good battles.
I believe Dust Warfare will be the next step for us all.
