i've got 1 for Vader, will get one with the Raider and just in case I ordered another today along with my last TIE/LN to bring me up to 8. I only play casually with friends so will be fielding Vader and Marek with the new cards soonest.

I can't wait for this and will be advance ordering one this weekend. I have been dying to do a proper game of epic. In addition I think I will need another advanced. I only have 1 currently, for Vader, and will defy proxy the cards in my next game.

I managed to get 1 of each from Wayland Games about 2 weeks ago and Forbidden Planet had some as well then. Not tried recently though.

Its 1 reason why i have never liked the 'Falcon' Title and the named YT1300 cards. A basic YT1300 is 2 Att as probably a freighter should be. The named YT1300s are 3 Att and this makes sense if you state they are the heavily modified Falcon, hence the Falcon title is already incorporated. Don't get me wrong I love the Falcon but I don't like to a certain degree how a freighter is better than many single seat military craft.

Hee hee I like that.

Wow what a spoiler, empire uses Wookie troopers.

That's the way I roll. If a player in my group wants to fly something and it's over 100 pts, just balance up. For our first year of play we also used a far too big play area as we used the whole of a random piece of black cloth we had.

I was 10 in '77'and remember going to see the film at the cinema. Even better years later saw a double bill of Ep IV and V back to back. Two ships for me. The falcon and then thanks to the TIE fighter game it has to be the humble eyeball.

Ran this at a demo 6 weeks ago or so. Falcon with crew as listed. 6 academy ties. Set up was 3 ties in opposite corners, falcon in the centre with players choice of direction. Each round that the falcon did a green or white manoeuvre it received an energy token. At the end of the round when it had 8 tokens it makes the jump to hyperspace. On the day we ran it 6 times.the falcon escaped every time with some hull left. Great fun.

You're welcome.

Old style brass paper fasteners?

I thought the Biggles movie was a travesty tbh. Then again as an avid Biggles reader as a kid and owning nearly all the books 100+ I suppose i could be a little biased.

Might have to buy a PC again. **** wish they did a Mac version. Spent ages of my down time in the 90s on Xwing and TIE Fighter.

TIE fighters. Love the numbers and manoeuvres. Dont love the inevitable, for me, 3rd turn clangage centre stage but always a smile. Love Interceptors but can never have enough.

We've had a few games with not revealing pilot abilities and upgrades. Great fun. The issue we had with the TIE swarm was that it was obvious after the first move which one Howlrunner was. We have tried a game where by high PS ships can move before their actual PS. This does somewhat negate advanced scopes (if I have that right) and alters the usefulness of blockers but we played that the PS to be used had to be written down and then the shooting was used in that order too. This did provide a great advantage initially for the TIE player in 1 game as Howlrunner lived a lot longer than she usually does. It was not a perfect system but was good fun. Once outed most players than just used the PS skill as written.

Some very personal remarks on this thread. Hate that. As a casual player who only plays xwing with the same group of 6 friends and mostly an Imperial player agree somewhat with the OP. Initially when we played the Imps had the advantage as movement was easier for us to grasp. Then as we learned the synergies open to the rebels they took the lead. Now we are fairly equal and as all agree I love the game balance. However in out small group we have found that rebels are some what easier with turrets and talents, shields, action synergy that do not punish mistakes as much. Saying that we love it as even I as a preferred Imp player know the rebel scum should win more often. The movies can't have lied.

Due to the real job. Imperial, Delta class Troop transport, PS 7, an ept and special, skill being formation leader, when a friendly ship is within R1 it receives a free focus.

My group has done this for many a game. We roll a D8 for each asteroid and then place a number token on it. This is its PS and denotes when it will move. When that PS number comes up in the activation phase a 40K scatter dice is rolled and the asteroid moves 1 unit in the direction shown. The 'hit' roll on the scatter dice means the asteroid stays where it is however on some games we made this a move of 2 in the direction shown. If an asteroid moves off a table edge it appears on the opposite side, a la asteroids video game. It is great fun and also b****y annoying when you time a squint to hide perfectly behind an asteroid that then moves and smashes you in the face.

Gadge, Academy TIEs. We reckoned that Vader wanted the Falcon to escape so sent up the b team.

I am with you totally. I try and make all my lists thematic in some way. I dislike totally mixed formations as they are unrealistic, as much as they can be in a sci if game, and matched formations look much better. Recently ran a series of games at a small convention to introduce people to the game. Favourite amongst the punters was the escapes from the Death Star. One falcon flown by Han with illegal crew, Luke, c3po, r2 d2 and leia, not that she ever comes into play. Set up the falcon in the middle of the board with asteroids to taste. Imperials get 2 flights of 3 ties set up in opposite corners. Each round the falcon does not do a red makeover it gains a hyper drive (energy) token. During the end phase after gaining the eighth token the falcon jumps and escapes. We ran this a few times to check it out and about 4 times on the day. Every time the falcon escaped, just, with hull left and the ties numbered 2-5 left. Great fun .

I think the scenes of Luke talking to Biggs we're filmed but cut from the final film. My only source was a picture Sta Wars story book I had back in the day that had a still from the film of this in it. I ended up getting the novel to see if this bit was in the story at the time.

A Phantom has Two Turns to Live against a Decimator
Cdr Vimes replied to Darth Ruin's topic in X-Wing
Not an issue, don't do mirror matches. LOL. -
I'm not selling my 40k stuff ( Marines and Orks) as I can't bear to after the time I spent painting them. However I've sold off all my spare untainted bits and bobs. Not played for over 2 years and only have 4 th edition book. Hopefully something may come out of GW in the future and I will resurrect the armies.

**** slow refresh, Ninja'd.

Maybe it allows a k- turn to be based on a bank like the manoeuvre for one of the new faction ships that was spoiled.
