rdh174 reacted to Jackelking in Jenny Barnes and the Dunwich Legacy
TLDR; soloed Dunwich Legacy (on easy mode) with Jenny Barnes and snagged a victory after a series of brutal scenarios.
Jenny was confronted by an old acquaintance, one doctor Armitage, concerning a couple missing colleagues of his, professor Rice and doctor Morgan. Knowing that Jenny was back in town searching for her sister, Isabelle, Armitage had called upon her in hopes that the cases weren't related, but in fear that they may be. Armitage informed Jenny of the last suspected locations of his two friends and Jenny set out into the twilight lit streets of Arkham.
Knowing that the university would be closing soon, and suspecting that professor Rice wouldn't stay on campus long thereafter, Jenny crossed the Miskatonic to the toll of the evening bells.
The campus had a low hum but was quieter than Jenny had expected it to be - at least, initially. After inquiring among a few students as to where she could find the humanities building, she began to feel eyes on her, following her every step. She quickened her pace, seeing shapes in every shadow. It wasn't long before her fears were manifested, and a great cacophony arose from the science building; a crash of materials, the breaking of glass, and the screams of students as some large mass tore through the building. Jenny narrowly avoided the creature, which was horrible to look upon, and made her way into the faculty offices, led by "Jazz" Mulligan, a janitor on campus who had professed to having seen the professor in his office. The pair rushed through the offices and found the professor even as the screams of students poured through the windows. Jenny and prof. Rice left the building to the sight of a ruined dormitory and fled back to downtown.
Fearing that events may be connected, Jenny and the professor had a hard time asking for the location of the Clover Club around town, likely due to Rice's presence, Jenny suspected, but, they eventually found a drunkard willingly to part with the information, and soon they were standing in front of La Bella Luna, a quaint little Italian restaurant next to the theatre, which was currently absolutely covered in posters for an upcoming play, The King in Yellow, all the way from Europe.
Jenny and Rice greased a few palms, and they were in. Jenny felt very much in her element in the establishment, and made the rounds of the bar, craps tables, and lounge, before finally being invited into the VIP area, where had begun to suspect the doctor might be present.
Although the patrons were friendly and forthcoming, the hired muscle stationed around the club had been giving Jenny the eye all evening, and as she made her way through the VIP areas in search of the doctor, they turned positively hostile, harassing her and barring her passage at every turn. The atmosphere changed, and as Jenny was beginning to fear that she wouldn't find the doctor here after all, a violent commotion arose from the restaurant facade, and she knew that whatever creature had torn through the dormitories at Miskatonic had found its way here as well, and she and the professor ran for the backdoor, escaping into the midnight air and returning to Armitage's house.
Jenny found Armitage pacing in his study, and countenance lifted immediately upon seeing Rice, but fell again when Dr. Morgan didn't soon follow. The two of them began the long tale of their adventures only a few months past, and how, after the events of the night, they suspected their past deeds may be coming back to haunt them. They were cryptic with some of the details, and wanted Jenny to retrieve an old tome, one Jenny had heard whispers of in her search for Izzie, a translation of the Necronomicon, that they had given to the museum for safe keeping. Fearing that whatever forces were behind the recent events may get their hands on the tome, Jenny was sent out to attempt to retrieve it first.
The museum was, of course, closed for the night, and, while debating picking the locks to the door, Jenny saw a light moving through the windows. It was most a most fortunate turn of events, but Jenny found that the light came from a security guard's lantern, rather than some ignoble being. Jenny and the professors were able to get the guard's attention, and he let them in, confused though he was. Her streak of luck continued, and the guard let them search the facility upon being informed of Armitage's name and prior donations.
The trio made their way through the darkened halls, but the dark forces that were spreading through Arkham soon found them, and they fled before this new, dark force could catch up to them.
The three returned to Armitage's house and, after little debate, decided that the state of Dunwich needed to be investigated, as all signs now pointed to some evil returning there. Jenny stayed in the guest room and gathered her things from her apartment in the morning before heading to the train station. Once settled into her seat, the previous night's events caught up to her, and Jenny relaxed momentarily.
Jenny was snapped back to reality as the train halted to a stop while crossing a bridge, still some distance from the station near Dunwich. Jenny looked out the window and saw a great tear in the sky near the back of the train and watched as luggage and loose gravel fell upward into the sky, and disappeared into the tear, and soon the back car started to follow.
Knowing that they needed to get the train running again in order to escape catastrophe, Jenny woke her elder travelling companions and started making her way through the passenger cars towards the engine car, hoping that whatever had stopped their progress could be overcome. Her progress was slowed, however, by masked people and a run of poor luck that seemed to have a will of it's own and was too obvious to be coincidence. Jenny hadn’t only packed clothes for the trip, however, and the mortal followers of whatever evil was happening all around her soon found themselves face to face with her trusty .45’s, and, soon enough, she had led her companions to the front of the car. Just in time, as it turned out, as the rear cars of the train were beginning to disappear into the hole in the sky.
Back on schedule, the train arrived at the station where the investigators met with Zebulon Whateley and Earl Sawyer, the remaining two people involved in the mystery some months back. It was getting late, and the others convinced Jenny that the mystery was best left for the morrow, and they turned the car to the outskirts of town towards Zebulon’s house. Jenny faded out on the long drive and awoke in the morning to find she was alone in the house.
She headed into town to try and find what had happened to her new acquaintances but was quickly waylaid in the general store by one of O’Bannon’s thugs from the Clover Club, who had somehow tracked her here from Arkham. A long shoot-out followed, during which Jenny sustained heavy injury and was forced to flee.
Jenny laid low for the next several days, and, using what little information she had gathered around Dunwich, was able to put together that a man named Seth Bishop may be behind the events, or, at least, may be the next piece in the puzzle. Her investigation was cut short when the people of Dunwich called on her in a panic, proclaiming that some great beast was destroying the town. Jenny calmed the crowd and learned that there may be more than one such beast ravaging the country town. Jenny gathered up her things and companions and set off to investigate the ruins of Whateley’s house.
The chirping of the whippoorwills filled the mid-morning air as Jenny drove Zebulon’s track around the outer reaches of Dunwich, the remaining professors crammed in next to her, and her old friend Leo de Lucca keeping an eye out from the truck bed. They found the first creature quickly, but it was a monstrous thing, and only grew and it chased the truck around the country side, and soon a second one joined the first. The abominations seemed to lose interest, and, though Jenny and her companions were able to set traps in the northeast regions of the countryside, the monsters continued to wander, seemingly at random, around the southern Glen, growing larger all the while.
Finally, a third, smaller creature emerged, and the group, determined to save the town from at least one of the monsters, lured the beast into a bog and, performing a ritual derived from some esoteric formula, returned the creature to whatever ****-scaped madness it had crawled out of. In the meantime, the first two creatures had grown much to large to deal with, and so the investigators turned the truck back towards Zebulon’s house to try and hide out the night.
There was little rest to be had, however, as the morning brought a screeching as the sky was torn open over the Sentinel Hill, a landmark within view of Dunwich. The team packed up their things and followed the signs of danger, hoping that this time they might finally bring an end to the horror of Dunwich.
The hill was riddled with paths leading this way and that and crawling in members of the cult responsible for the monstrous abominations that had ravaged Arkham and Dunwich. After dispatching some cultists and narrowly escaping from lesser monstrosities, the trio finally made it to the peak where the tear in sky swirled menacingly.
Jenny searched the area desperately for some means of closing the gate but was interrupted when Seth Bishop finally made his appearance. Without time to handle Seth, or the means to close the gate from the outside, Jenny grabbed her compatriots and fled through the gate, hoping that some means of closing it from the far side would present itself.
Jenny felt herself and being stretched and torn across space, intermittently viewing herself from behind her own eyes and, seemingly, from the eyes of her companions. After a millennia of twisting, distorting, and being pulled across space, Jenny finally landed in something resembling normal ground and found herself amongst whom she took to be a stranger until she recognized the man as Leo de Lucca. She vaguely recalled another couple of older gentlemen who she had once travelled with, but they were nowhere to be found.
Jenny and Leo felt as though they were crawling through the alien landscape, constantly stumbling on new vistas, equal parts beautiful and horrifying. Finally, the duo found a path along a rainbow waterfall, and could see a vast emptiness ahead. Their progress quickened, and the two made their way to the edge of a vast abyss, one that they knew, though they had no way of knowing, went on for eternity.
At the very edge of existence, defeat seemed inevitable, if it hadn’t happened already. While wandering the periphery of space itself, Jenny found herself taking one step at the abyss and the next back in the mysterious landing spot where she had initially arrived in this strange landscape. A sense of urgency filled her, and she rushed back through the nearly familiar terrain and found that the path that had once led her to the edge of space now came upon a portal, or maybe a series of portals, that each felt as though they opened into a different place, and a different time.
She felt a presence then, and a great conglomeration of spheres lashed out at her. With the help of Leo, she was able to slip past the strange creature, and pressed on to the very edge of time, where she could but close her eyes and envision the various pasts, presents, and possible futures on the other side. As she searched for the one that might take her home, some vile force found her, and she was flung back to the entrance again.
The space around her was beginning to crumble, and she knew that if she lost her way now then finding her way home before falling prey to the creatures or nature of this alien place would be impossible in all likelihood. She rushed through the cascading waterfall, which was quickly eroding and seemingly fractured, another, identical bridgeway reflecting in the chromatic surface, and gave the spherical creature the slip, distracting it by tossing away some tools that were otherwise now useless, and raced back to the multi-faceted tear in time.
Finally finding a window to the clearing atop Sentinel Peak, Jenny jumped through the portal, closing it behind her and finding herself in a dark tunnel. No flashlight to guide her, Jenny followed the wall until she finally stepped out into the night air, no alien sky above her, but instead a more familiar nightscape.
She pressed on.
And on.
Treading over cement.
And gravel.
And steel.
Then grass, as the world shifted and changed until finally settling on the world she knew, though she was too tired to appreciate it.
She collapsed.
And was awoken by some residents of Dunwich who, she found during the journey back, had wandered up the hill to see what all the hubbub was about. They had known something was wrong the past few days, but they were unwilling, or unable, to acknowledge what they had seen, and the event passed quietly into history.
Jenny still dreamed about the events that had transpired in Dunwich, and could see vividly the creatures and wonderous sights she had seen through the portal merely by closing her eyes, but her struggle wasn’t over, and, fatigued and permanently haunted by the events as she was, she slowly resumed her endeavor to find her missing sister, but it wouldn’t be long before she would find herself sucked into the occult again. Just a few weeks after reestablishing her investigation, she received a summons from an old acquaintance at the Miskatonic University, who was offering a job that could utilize some of my skills. The job was to take place in Mexico, of all places.

Rugal, it has taken me some time, but the gang is all here and ready to go. I used Reaper miniatures to represent your new monsters and heroes.
I would like to try the quests soon but I did have some questions after reviewing the rules.
Baba Yaga's Hut
Where is the old tree? It is not marked on the map. Where is the objective token representing the cauldron placed. I assume it is in the hut. The wrong advanced quest card is listed in the Rewards section I could not find the "Unsensible" OL card in the drop box files In Search of Youth
The Old Tree is not marked on the map Totem Place is not marked on the map Quest starts with dark monster trait. Is this ignored until the sunset during the quest. Does Baba Yaga exit the entrance? I could not find the Wrath of the Pack OL reward card Shuar's Ritual
Flavor text is repeated from the first quest Ruins not marked on the map I assume the river is 2A but it is not marked Old Tree tile is not marked I could not find the Nature's Fury OL card I have not taken notes on the ACT II quests yet.
Thanks for your work. I look forward to trying it out.

I have always enjoyed using custom content from the community when playing descent. Over the years I have created some of my own. I thought maybe I would post some the custom heroes that I have created. These heroes are some from Runebound Second Edition that never made it Descent. I work with Word so I have not converted them into a standard template. These versions have always served me fine. Each one of these have been used in at least one campaign and some of them have been used multiple times. I do not remember any major balance issues but I play solitaire so if something is unbalanced I am only hurting myself and I may be missing on some combo that would break things. I know that some of these have been done before by others with much more talent. Regardless, here is may take on these heroes.
When I created Kala I wanted her abilities to reflect her character. She seemed to me to be a fast and agile hunter but yet light and fragile so I tried to base her abilities around that. I feel like her heroic feat lets her "stalk" her prey much as a hunter would.
Here is Gyruk Kinslayer. I wanted him to be a brute so I gave him a high health value and black defense die. In return his speed is low and his fatigue is abysmal. I have used him on multiple campaigns and he is very different to play since his primary source of fatigue comes from declaring move actions to gain MP. This lets him power up some powerful skills but yet limits him overall. When I have used him he has not seemed unbalanced. In fact this is his "second edition" with slightly improved stats since he actually proved to be weak in a previous incarnation.
I always liked Okaluk and Rakash so I thought it would be fun to have a warrior version of that duo. I last used Telvan playing Rugal's Ascension of Margath campaign as a Martial Artist.
Here is Maliki the Claw. This version is a direct port from BGG. Here is the link:
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1318038/maliki-claw
Maliki is a fun figure to have on the board and I last used him in a Shadows of Nerekhall campaign as a Tactician.
I just based Harthan's heroic feat around his name. He gets a free ranged attack with an equipped melee weapon. It has been a while since I used Harthan but he did well enough in the past.
Finally, for the warriors we end with Kael. When I look at him he seems like he is in great physical condition so I gave him the ability to recover fatigue as soon as he declares a rest action. His heroic feat is based on his Runebound description as a "Dorn Defender".
Anyway, that is all I have time for right now. I will post the scouts, mages and healers later. I hope someone enjoys these and if you have any questions let me know.

So here are the Scouts:
So in Runebound, Saka and Kuto are portrayed as an inseparable team. I wasn't up to creating a new familiar so I came up with the idea of allowing Saka to perform and action up to three spaces away to represent Kuto helping out. Also, Saka's Runebound quote makes it seem like he works best with others around so his Hero ability is based on that.
Mirala's Runebound abilities center around purchasing items in the shop so I made the decision to allow her abilities to help in the Campaign phase instead of during the quest. I've gone back and forth on what the extra value of face-up search cards should be but at the moment, +5 gold has seemed OK. In Runebound she also had a lot of skills so I gave her a balanced trait line to help reflect this. This also helps to supplement her lack of in quest abilities. I last used her during a Shadow of Nerekhall campaign as a Pirate in which she saved Maliki just in time to let him defeat Mirklace in one of the few victories I have managed in that campaign.
Jaena seems like a shadowy ranger type to me so I based her abilities around that. She seems to operate alone so I gave her the Stealthy ability when she was operating away from the rest of the Heroes. Her Heroic Feat is similar to Tomble's but it seemed appropriate for someone who could disappear when necessary.
It seemed obvious to me that Elaria should be have advantages with ranged attacks. When I was thinking about her Heroic Feat I thought of all the times in fantasy movies and books that the skilled elf/archer struck the mortal blow with bow and arrow. I knew that I wanted her to have that ability. I have used her multiple times and always as a wildlander of course. Even still, it has always amazed me at the high number of times I have activated her feat and still managed to miss or come up short on surges.
Well the last one is Annen. Any Hero with "Trailblazer" in his name had better be able to help with movement. Annen's Runebound abilities reinforce this so I tried to come up with abilities that would allow him to help others move. The last time I used him he was a Shadow Walker and it was fun chaining his abilities with shadow shift.
Well that is all of the heroes. I know that some of the abilities are probably not that clear. When I first put these together I never really thought about posting them so the wording only had to make sense to me since I knew what I meant. Regardless, if anyone has any comments or wording suggestions I will implement them and update the images.
Thanks

rdh174 got a reaction from ATM2100 in SoN - The Black Realm - Solo Campaign Session Report
I recently completed a solo SoN campaign with the following heroes:
Maliki - Tactician
Mirala - Pirate
Lyssa - Spell Blade
Okaluk - Blacksmith
I thought I would put together a session report for the finale. Maybe someone will enjoy it.
It had been a long struggle to save Nerekhall, but the end was near. After some limited success the heroes found themselves entering the Black Realm for one last confrontation with the demonic force known as Mirklace. There was four of them, Maliki, Mirala, Lyssa, and Okaluk. As they ventured deeper into the realm they could feel themselves being corrupted and pulled to the obedience of the evil Mirklace. They emerged into an abandoned sewer system with a closed gate before them. To their right they could see a swarm of rats and they could hear the scheming words of Verminous. It would seem the final battle was about to begin.
Round 1
Lyssa with her feline agility and speed shot forward and an electrical blast from her Doom Hammer destroyed the rat swarm in a massive arc of raw magical energy. Immediately, Verminous was upon her with blade and claw. Mirala was quickly to the aid of Lyssa, but Verminous’s stealth made him a difficult target to pin down. Okaluk attempted to assist, but he could not land a blow as Verminous easily avoided his futile attacks. Unfortunately for Verminous he failed to notice Maliki move into position and he suffered grievously from an onslaught from the Rune of Blades. In the distance, the Heroes could hear the sound of gates being opened and the dark curses of Mirklace. Soon they could hear the chanting of changelings somewhere in the darkness.
Round 2
Verminous attempted to continue his attacks on Lyssa as more rats emerged from the dark sewer waters but the Rune of Blades flashed out and all fell lifelessly onto the ground. The heroes then made their way to the gate that initially blocked their path as Okaluk stayed behind to open it. Before them they could hear the maniacal laugh of Tristayne Olliven and the smug voice of his brother Rylan giving orders to unknown assailants ahead of them. As the others move forward, Lyssa struggled, her battle with Verminous had cost her dearly and she was wounded and fatigued. She could not remove the curses of Mirklace from her mind and she felt something inside her change. She knew that she did not have long before she was overwhelmed and lost to the darkness.
Round 3
At this point, Rylan, Tristayne, and a horde of changelings emerged from dark passages. Knowing that she did not have much time, Lyssa sprang forward and engaged Tristayne, her hammer striking him and cursing him with doom. Okaluk moved up behind her and applied a healing potion he had found and Lyssa suddenly felt greatly refreshed. Okaluk and Lyssa found themselves assailed by the changelings with their terrible laughter and ruinous whispers that compelled them to fall back. Maliki, ignoring the changelings, then attacked Rylan and greatly dented his arrogant smirk as the rune of blades scored multiple hits. A bright blue light brought their attention to Mirklace who was floating to their left. They watched him draw power from an aenlong shard as bane spiders took form in the energy surrounding him. They knew then they must find the shards in the area and destroy them before more monsters appeared from Mirklace’s dark summoning. Mirklace did not give them time to react, he immediately charged through them and left Okaluk collapsed motionless on the floor.
Round 4
There was great confusion as the heroes scrambled about trying to escape the changelings and slow down Mirklace who had reached yet another shard. During the scramble, Maliki struck down Rylan but missed Tristayne who was chasing after Mirala. Mirala had spotted two additional shards and was trying desperately to reach them before Mirklace could draw more power from them. Lyssa, bleeding and weakened from her fight with the changelings tried attacking Tristayne but he eluded her so she took a moment to rest as Okaluk pulled himself from the ground.
Round 5
The bane spiders quickly attacked and Okaluk fell back routed, into the shadows. As he did, he felt the terrible presence of Mirklace in his mind and he knew the same desperation that Lyssa also felt. In response, Lyssa summoned all of her available reserves and unleashed a powerful attack that obliterated the bane spiders, reducing their massive bodies to smoldering hulks on the floor. She then grabbed a nearby lever and shut the gate behind them, temporarily locking the changelings away. Meanwhile, just as Mirklace was summoning the forms of Nagas from a shard, Mirala sprinted past him, suffering greatly from the blistering magic that enshrouded him, and destroyed the shard in a blinding flash. The nagas faded and did not appear. Maliki also shouted in triumph as Tristayne’s legendary elusiveness was brought to an in as he joined his brother in death. Maliki was then immediately beset by the changelings who had opened the gate and were now attacking. Mirklace immediately moved towards the final shard and the race was on.
Round 6
Mirklace and Maliki found themselves in a race to the shard, but the powerful lion legs of Maliki delivered him first and the shard was quickly destroyed. In response, Mirklace attacked Maliki and then retired to the chamber of despair to wait for those foolish enough to approach him. Mirala moved up, trying to rest but the changelings were in pursuit to kill anyone who threatened their master. Their attacks were devastating and Mirala fell back seeking shelter, somewhere to hide as the evil voice of Mirklace broke her soul. There was only one left now, if he fell to the corruption, all would be lost.
Rounds 7 - 8
Mirala struggled in the darkness, she felt hopeless and broken, but somehow she emerged from her hiding place in the shadows and beheld an amazing sight. On the balcony of the chamber of despair she could see brave Maliki surrounded by the changelings. They smote and slashed at him but he would not fall. She watched him concentrate all of his efforts on Mirklace as the two traded attacks. Suddenly, Mirklace slammed the ground in frustration and the earth was split open! Poor Maliki stumbled and fell into an open portal of dark energy and was lost. Mirala gasped, sensing the end, she unleashed an attack on the changelings above her and dashed for the balcony stairs.
Round 9 – The End
Maliki had barely caught himself; he was suspended just inches above the lethal boiling energy below. Dark terrible thoughts flooded his mind. The overwhelming will of Mirklace commanded him to let go, surrender to death and accept the inevitable. Maliki grew weaker and he was ready to bend to the dark will. Suddenly above him, Mirala appeared! Her appearance gave him new hope and reaching towards her, Maliki was pulled from the pit. Lying on the floor, he could see the shadowy presence of the changelings and Mirklace standing behind preparing for the final assault.
Mirklace knew that he had nearly won, the lion was brave but helpless before him, and he raised his hand for the killing blow when he was beset with great pain from behind. Turning he realized he had forgotten the feline warrior called Lyssa! She had approached from the rear and struck a near fatal blow with her hammer. With a massive release of rage, Mirklace crushed Lyssa with a single blast, leaving her heaped lifelessly on the ground. Mirklace, staggering, turned to face the lion who was now standing and taking aim with the wretched rune that had struck down so many of his servants. Mirklace did not see the killing blow for he was wracked in pain as his body was consumed by fire. As Mirklace fell into the darkness, the pain quickly subsided and was replaced with fear for he knew that he must now face his own dark masters …..

rdh174 got a reaction from Alarin in SoN - The Black Realm - Solo Campaign Session Report
Thanks for posting this. Will put in in the next version of the CRRG.
EDIT:
Here is what we have now under Dark Charm/Overlord/:
Combat
The overlord cannot force a charmed hero to spend fatigue or exhaust cards. The overlord can neither force a charmed hero to equip or unequip items nor use Search cards. If the overlord forces a charmed hero to attack, he may declare an equipped weapon for the attack. The overlord may use any ability of that weapon that does not cost fatigue or exhausts cards. The overlord may use surge abilities of the charmed hero. The overlord cannot force a charmed hero to use skills, Hero abilities or Heroic feats which include an element of choice (indicated by “may“, “use this card” etc.). Passive effects of these abilities that do not include an element of choice are still in effect. -

So dear FFG my suggestion would be that, as a reward for their tremendous work, the next Heroes ans Monsters Pack should be featuring Any the Father, Sadgit with the the faith, Atom the LoreVampire and Zaltyre the One who knows.

The Community Rules Reference Guide (CRRG) is a comprehensive resource for all Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition rules. In its current form it features:
Rules from the base game and all released expansion boxes (except the print-on-demand expansions) Rules for Road to Legend including The Delve in separate text boxes Official Errata and FAQ published by FFG (oFAQ, version 1.6) and approximately 400 unoffical FAQs (uFAQs) to specific player questions integrated into the text. Visual examples for “Movement”, “Line of Sight” and “Special Situations in Combat” Tables with overviews on the content of Descent expansions An index with hyperlinks and page numbers When I started this project (in an over-enthusiastic and fairly naive way), I never imagined the time and effort it would cost. I also never imagined what I would learn on the way. And I definitely never imagined the help and the encouragement I would receive from friendly, dedicated and generally fantastic people who I would get to know. I cannot thank you guys and gals enough for this. For me personally, this project is as much about the journey and the things that I experienced on the way, as it is about the final product. And, in my opinion, this is exactly as it should be.

I am planning to update and improve the CRRG. I need the help of the community for this. Please use this thread to report errors, typos and additional uFAQs not yet included in the CRRG. Other comments are highly appreciated as well.

The Heroes Win!
This was my third SoN campaign and the only one that I won. I would also like to thank BJZSN for his custom classes they were fun to work with during this campaign.
Thanks

Sorry guys, had to take a break from development on the site. If everything goes well, the new version should be around some time this weekend.

rdh174 got a reaction from zwara81 in Legacy of Timmorran Solitaire Session Report
I have played Descent since first edition. Unfortunately I have always been short of other players so I have played solitaire the vast majority of the time. With second edition, all of the different coop/solitaire variants have been my favorite way to play for at least two years now. Currently, I am using RedJack’s RAMV system that can be found on BGG. After using this system for a few campaigns I have made a few modifications that have made it more enjoyable for me. I have been testing these changes in Zaltyre’s custom campaign titled, Legacy of Timmorran. I have enjoyed this campaign and I appreciate his work in creating it. If you have not tried it out, I encourage you to do so.
I have recently started a second LoT campaign and I thought I would provide short session reports in case anyone is interested. The following randomly selected Heroes are in use for this campaign:
Karnon – Beserker
Elaria (Custom Runebound Midnight Hero) – Wildlander
Zyla – Conjurer
Ispher – Physician – (Custom Healer Class)
Introduction - Rallying Support
The Heroes have just arrived in Tamalir and are looking for some needed rest when they are informed by a villager that a messenger in the inn wishes to talk to them. Suddenly, the villager is struck dead by magical flame. As the Heroes rush out of the tavern, fleshmoulders are spotted across the town square heading for the inn. Stranger still, volucrix readers are pouring out of the library! The reavers rush to the door of the inn, only to discover that the frightened occupants had barricaded the door. Regardless, in a mad fury they begin to beat down the door. Karnon, Zyla, and Ispher rush across the town square while Elaria decides to investigate something strange along the gallows, which turns out to be a hidden passage that smells of trolls.
Round #2
The Heroes continue to rush for the inn to stop the monsters, the battle begins to unfold as fleshmoulders are cut down by Karnon and Zyla kills a reaver. Ispher moves up in support and Elaria decides to join the fray instead of further investigation at the secret passage. The monsters defend themselves and claw desperately at the door.
Round #3
Suddenly, some evil spell befalls the Heroes, and all but Karnon find themselves immobilized. Regardless, the Heroes do their best to slay the monsters as the battle at the door intensifies with the arrival of a master reaver. It is only a matter of time before the door fails.
Round #4
The battle at the door begins to turn to the Heroes’ favor, but at the last moment the door fails and the remaining monsters rush into the inn, it is too late, the messenger is mortally wounded. As quick as they came, the monsters melt into the streets of Tamalir.
This is the second time I have played this quest, and the second time I have lost. In the first attempt, I focused on searching which gave the monsters time to kill the messenger. This time I decided to rush the door, kill the monsters and then search, but the reavers got the jump and beat me to the door. As it stands, this was quite the disaster, the Heroes gained 0 gold for the quest. I hope that things improve for the next quest.

rdh174 reacted to Zaltyre in Shadows of Nerekhall Solo Playthrough and Questions.
I don't have my quest guide in front of me, and have actually never played "Price of Power." However, I can say a few things:
-If the pillars can be affected by attacks, that usually means they can be affected by conditions.
-If the pillars are treated as figures (in addition to being affected by attacks,) then almost certainly they can.
-If the pillars do not have an activation, most conditions won't do anything.
