Building a Character “Wrong”.
HappyDaze replied to Tramp Graphics's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
That's a really simple and really effective house rule. I will likely implement that if I choose to run another game with this system. -
If you use the index, you can find encumbrance listed under "encumbrance."
-
Yes, but that could have just been a power of Obi's and it would fall when he drops the power out of distraction... Sure.

Suffering the same critical injury multiple times?
HappyDaze replied to Fl1nt's topic in Game Masters
They still get it, and while it may have no cumulative immediate effect, you keep track of it for healing and adding to the bonus on further Critical Injury rolls as with all other Critical Injuries. -
When you stop tracking initiative order, that's a sign the encounter is over.

It takes more than one night's sleep to completely remove Wounds in this game. Even 8h in a bacta tank might not get rid of them all. Of course, every day you can slam down more stimpacks (healing potions) to get there faster, but regular rest is nowhere near on D&D 5e levels.

The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
I rarely agree with Tramp, but I didn't really care for Glover's Lando. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't all that great either. -
Loronar CryoBan Rifle
HappyDaze replied to welldressedgent's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
I think Mr. Freeze was moving away from the rifle to a more compact version, so... -
Hit points are basically your "life bar" if D&D were a video game. You track hit point from your maximum down to zero. Getting hit removes a certain amount of hit points. You have limited spell resources that can be used for healing, and these typically replenish daily. However, just sleeping overnight (a "Long Rest") automatically brings everyone back up to full hit points.

I see you too have played D&D 5e.

The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
The difference is spelled out in Tom Cruise's contracts. It's right alongside the part that says no other actors can be filmed running alongside Cruise, and that the line "Remember the tooth" (from Dune) must never be spoken while Tom's mouth is open. -
As an exception to the normal flow of play, I allow Force Dice to be committed to Healing Trance as an out-of-incidental immediately before rolling initiative. So long as those dice remain committed for the entire encounter, then the talent works as advertised.

You don't put a jetpack on your mount? Amateur.

The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
That's the nature of the internet. Would you like me to expound upon it for a few more paragraphs that will in no way add anything to the discussion? -
Yeah, don't feel forced to take a Sig. Quite often there are other specialties to take that will help the character more. Consider too that, if other players are taking Sigs, your group might be flipping DPs really quick. Being one of the guys not flipping DPs to use Sigs is beneficial to the group.

The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
You'd be surprised. Some players are very actively engaged in being passive participants. Annoys the crap out me. -
The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
I really seeing Mando as the PC of that player that doesn't put much into the game and just gets dragged around by the story. Add to it that the GM is dropping in flashy NPCs, and Mando is at risk of becoming a background character in his own story. 😟 -
Behavior Inhibitor Chips
HappyDaze replied to welldressedgent's topic in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG
One of the Aftermath novels (the second one, IIRC) featured prisoners liberated from Imperial facilities that had been fitted with something like these. Apparently this was not a widespread practice, for whatever reasons, and it caught the New Republic with their pants down. Please note, the novel this occurs in isn't really all that good. -
Still a bit of a difference between openly posted publicly and using it to make money though, right? I mean if the D6 Holocron were selling that material without working out a deal with WEG, it would be a problem, wouldn't it. (IANAL)

The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
It differs from the typical Imperial Gozanti in some cosmetic and functional ways such as having two dorsal turrets (rather than one), moving the ventral turret forward, and not having the ventral sensor array or fighter clamps. -
The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]
HappyDaze replied to P-47 Thunderbolt's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
Yeah, but light travels so much faster in AGFFA...The Force Awakens shows that you can see the destruction of a star system in near real time from anywhere in the galaxy. The "light" that carried those images of destruction is the light that "sublight" doesn't match... Yeah... -
The Mandalorian Season 2! [Spoilers]

IMO, this episode looked great, but was overall kinda crap. -
How would you go about a Prison Break?
HappyDaze replied to Mark Caliber's topic in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG
You don't break the prison. Acquire an Imperial Shuttle. Have your slicer (PC or hired) and/or infiltrator orchestrate a prisoner transfer of the assets to another location. The PCs fly away with the assets they need. Optionally, just arrange for the transfer to a (non-existent) remote prison world and let the Imperials transport the prisoners. Then arrange and ambush and overpower the shuttle crew at the remote destination. -
looking for feedback on a campaign setup
HappyDaze replied to TequilaSaisYes's topic in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG
Is this the background of one player character, or are you having this be the background of all of the player characters? In Star Wars, shared backgrounds don't really grab me. I much prefer a bunch of characters with wildly different backgrounds that come together in play (i.e., once the game starts) as this feels much more like the SW stories that I like. I'll also say that I don't care for the more "sci-fi" angle you've gone with over the space opera/fantasy vibe of SW (but don't get me wrong--I don't like my SW to go too fantasy either, so the Mortis arc and some of the Nightsisters stuff really bugs me too).
