I see some Armada campaign potential here.

The number one pointer I would give, is if it looks they are going to lose the encounter they should be making sure to grab all the search tokens. at least get the money out of it.
Money to buy better gear means they will be able to handle what you throw at them better.
A lot of the "imbalance" comes from Character selection and experience.
And last but most important its all because you are only playing 2 heroes. Some people will argue this but it is basically true especially with new players:2 Heroes - advantage Overlord3 Heroes - advantage Heroes.4 Heroes - balanced (based on character selection anyway)I would honestly start over and let your 2 players play 2 heroes each.Nevermind miss read that part. You are playing with 2 each.

I brought this up before, that the ISD was coming with 2 of the same card. Now we know its coming with 2 each of both of these cards.
I originally thought maybe they would allow 2 of the same cards on one ship as some kind of special ability, but even if you could these cards would be useless for that.
I'm speculating that maybe this was part of the delay in the release? For what ever reason...
If it were intentional then why would Wing Commander and Navigational Officer not come with doubles?
And i'm not complaining, it just seems odd. Why could it not have been XI7's

I really liked one guys idea (can't remember who) said it could extend the game to 7 turns or something. I really like that idea. But not sure how that would work for a tournament.
Maybe it could even shorten the game to 5 turns.

But I think it is going to be tough. If you compare it with an ISD (same hull). hardly any weapons or squadron support.
but maybe you can allow it to equip the same support cards like 2 tractor beams, or multiple Ion canons.
I think a lot of us would love to see this ship.

Arguably the most iconic ship in the movies is the Millennium Falcon, not yet in the game (but this is a game of capital ships, so we'll let that slide!) The most iconic capital ship in the setting, the Star Destroyer, is not yet in the game either (except for those able to make, and win, the very limited and regional tournament...) FFG doesn't yet have in the game the most iconic capital ship in the movies.
All they needed to do was release on time (0 for 3 so far!) or take responsibility for the delay (rather than give one sentence hidden in the bottom of an article blaming unknown issues arising!) They are failing, they have refused to address this failure, and they continue to act oblivious to this failure.
I do not understand the hostility. I would rather them get it right then rush things. No one wants an Attack Wing game here. What if they found out all the ISD's were painting Green? You would still rather them just release the wave because 'all' they needed to do is release on time?
The game is still great, the wave is still coming...who cares who and why. They did address it, even if it was not to everyone's satisfaction.
There is an easy solution. Do not play the game and cause yourself the stress.
Life is too short.
Maybe thats easy for me because I won something at Massing at Sullust.

I need to take a week off, and play nothing but armada....hmmm when does wave 2 come out? I think there will be some vacation booked.
-
don't they record in the Tub? maybe we should be telling them to climb back into the tub and record an episode.

-
-
Any word on when wave 2 will be added to the Armada module?

Somebody pull up the battle over endir
Count the ISDs
Tally the points
If brave, count the fighters
That's enough

Funny I was just looking at that yesterday.
33 ISD's it lists 9 unique I's and 8 Unique II's
You are looking at around 4000 points just in ISD's, without a commander squadrons or upgrades. Nor does that include any of the other Capital ships.

He blew up a Venator Class Star Destroyer as a kid.

This looks really great. I'm loving the interface. Probably the best I've seen.
And I know you have stated you could work on these features and others have said, but I would just like to reiterate.
For me the thing that sets Fabs apart from the rest is the fact you can put in your collection. I cannot remember how many XI7's I have. I do not want to be able to use 3 when I only have 2. Especially when i'm at work, which is where I do most of my fleet building. I also really love the Random fleet builds. Some times in the "Lab" I love to play with random fleets. This is a "nice to have feature", but the entering in your own collection is a must for me.
I do know how much work this would be. But keep it up, I like the direction its going. I will keep it on my radar.

There is a good list of ships on the wiki page.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_of_Endor
Looks like at least 9 MC80s although of varying types.
10 Neb B's
7 Corvettes.
1 SSD
2 Battlecruisers.
33 ISD's.
3 TSD's
only 1 Victor.

I hate some of you people and all your creativity....

I want that ship.
X Wing Nut and TheRealStarkiller reacted to this -
I've seen others say this. The fact that this debate even happens is a testament to how well balanced the game is.
Fleets with squadrons win, fleets without squadrons win. What more could you ask for from a game?
You should be able to win with any fleet that fits your play style.
The thing people forget about "collectible" miniature games is that the rules have to go some where.
When the game first came out everyone that it was dumb that squadrons could only move and shoot, and they "should" be allowed to do both.
Well if they did that then the "rogue" ability does not come into play.
A game cannot just do what you think it "should" be able to do. Otherwise there is no room to grow the game with new abilities and mechanics.

acully they DID Shoot the A-wing down, it just happened to crash into the bridge...
How was Piett supposed to know that he was a load-bearing boss and a lucky shot would bring his entire ship down?Jesus, of any color? Thats pretty powerful considering his SSD failed to shoot a singular awing down.
lol I actually just watched that scene and they didn't actually hit the a-wing. It looked like a kamikaze run.
-
You guys are so right about the squadrons and those stupid stupid dice.
I tried the Y-wing thing for one game, and I remember I rolled 12 black dice over 2 turns. I got 1 hit. What are the odds of that?
When I went to my massing at sullust tournament I took 5 A-wings. I was mathing it out. Ok I do not get crits but a 75% chance to hit with black dice.
Sure enough. I actually got all 5 A-wings on 1 VSD for 2 turns. 10 black dice....9 blanks.

I was thinking on fast ships that try to swing around outside and may only get their one side arc on most ships. corvettes maybe.
-
Oh man I love Warlord. I would ditch something (Corrupter) and fit a Sensor team on Warlord. Sensor Team / Warlord/ Screed is probably my favorite IMP combo.
-
Ya that is interesting. I always forget about Chiraneau. I usually only think of using him with Mauler.
Maybe ditch a Tie or 2 and add another bomber? Chiraneau and Corrupter is a big sink for a 2 bomber strategy. although I do see where you are going with it.
-
Do you need Corrupter if you have Rhymer? And its 5 points that will only affect 2 of your squadrons maybe once or twice.
might something better you could spend 5(6) points on.
-
-
I am on the side that the points should not be too high so that players have to make decisions about their builds. Its part of the game.
I come from Flames of War where people always want to play huge games so they can fit everything they want. I do not like that.
However, having said that I also feel 400 is too low. especially if you add squadrons in. "WHEN" squadrons become a viable meta, that leaves you will only 266 points for ships.
600 seems like too much. I've never played it so maybe others can say but 200pts of fighters seems a bit crazy.
And the game would take way longer.
I know we can play higher at home, but I don't like doing that. I like playing the game what it was meant to be played had.
-
you know I was thinking about what "Even Steven" was saying about Tie Fighters pouring out of an ISD...just playing around at work because i'm bored.
But i'm thinking it could actually be a viable strategy. Especially if people think no fighters is the current meta.
ISD (plus upgrades)
Raider (help tie down other fighters, and missiles if there are none)
Demolisher
and Howl runner plus 13 more Tie Fighters.
That is potentially 14 blue dice I could be chucking at ships.
Especially against the slow MC80
Even if its not a good strategy it sounds like it will be fun to try.

About time!
