  7. The Baron is proud to announce his most wondrous Game is now edible! Or rather, that it is finger food. No, that it has fingers. Rather, that it now exists in a variety of digital forms! https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-extraordinary-adventures-of-baron-munchausen/products/extraordinary-adventures-baron-munchausen/
  8. Huzzah! The Baron has shared additional Adventure Seeds for the Variant of his Game proposed by his Most Esteemed Ally, Es-Sindibad the Sailor. This may be found here, under "Player Resources" http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-extraordinary-adventures-of-baron-munchausen/ This thread can be used to offer additional Seeds, as well as new Seeds for other Variants of the Baron's Game. Yours in Germination, but not the actual German Nation, as we are at war I believe? Much check on that... Captain Huckelbery, formerly of the USS Falcon
  9. Hello, fellow players of the Baron's Game! The Baron has shared a missive concerning the naming of names, which can be found here under "Player Resources" http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-extraordinary-adventures-of-baron-munchausen/ This thread can be used to promote new names and locations to add to the generator, as well as for generating names for the many Variants of the Baron's Game to be found in this new edition. Yours in Cognomenity, Captain Huckelbery, formerly of the USS Falcon
  10. Thanks! All of us here had a blast working with James on it
  11. In the words of a numerically challenged friend of mine, "That would be telling." (As a rule we don't announce things like that until they happen, so we can't say anything either way. Consider it in a Schrödingeresque state of affairs for now)
  12. Indeed, the Barons's most Factual and Educational Adventures are now Available for all to read in Wonder! Visit your local purveyor of Fine Games to purchase a copy, plus more for your friends.
  13. The Dulce you say! I shall have words with those who connect our inter-tubes here in our arctic abode, and give them a good thrashing. Try these: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/12/13/rejoice-good-folk/ https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/the-extraordinary-adventures-of-baron-munchausen/
  14. Tomorrow marks the release of this most August (Decembrist?) Volume, and where the most Dazzling and Interesting new Variants of the Baron's Game are revealed! Be sure to read this, the Last Preview, which reveals hints as to the True Natures of the Variants within this mighty Tome, and ushers a new era of Postviews as player supplements spring in coming days to come in this most Wondrous of Times! Rejoice, Good Folk
  15. Rumors of the first link's efficacy have been greatly exaggerated, good fellow! The latter, however, has seen to it that this title will enter my collection. Clearly the work of the pernicious French, always eager to employ the sabot even in this age. I fervently hope this connective net-tubage will suffice, where all the various News articles concerning the Baron's Game can be found: The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
  16. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/12/7/the-barons-adventures-in-araby/ 8 days and counting... -Tim
  17. Verily so! https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/11/30/mendace-veritas/ There are some articles on RPGG and the like about the older editions that describe the mechanics of the base game too, like here: https://rpggeek.com/thread/1258435/whats-it-all-about-extraordinary-adventures-baron. -Tim
  18. Not really a drinking game, though you can certainly have a glass or several while playing or make that a part of the game. It's really more about telling outlandish stories through competitive boasting to produce the greatest tale for the entertainment of the rest of the group, and some liquid fortification does aid in the process Players can also challenge other storytellers in their tales concerning "facts" they bring up, for example, thus making storytellers to make clever corrections or refute such allegations. These twists can then take stories in directions the teller had no plans for originally, and thus create even better (and certainly more amusing) tales. The rules cover how such things as how challenges are made and refuted, winners are decided, and (most importantly) who buys the next round. It also includes a multitude of story ideas to get things going, plus all of the new content for the third edition so even veteran players will get tons of new game and story tips.
  19. And I'm happy to report that not only do we have a release date (see https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/11/30/mendace-veritas/) but we also have new Munchausean avatars for the forum too!
  20. Thanks, they are fun to do (our fine folks at marketing did the news article and product page text; I've done the postings here and am working on support items to appear when the book launches). The game really inspires everyone to get creative in their writing, and I'm hoping we'll see lots of "in-character" postings here for epic stories from game sessions. –Tim
  21. It has come to the Baron’s attention, as well as to the eagled-eyes of those who scour these ætherical series of tubes connecting this Modern World, that scurrilous deeds are afoot! Someone has had the audacity to lower the already diminutive price that was being charged for this Third Edition of his Game. Alarums! The Baron weeps, for that funding was sorely needed to sally forth against the French against their latest invasion efforts. It now appears his supplies will include only three barrels of the ’77. If only he had the monetary means for even just one more barrel! But you can do your part! When purchasing the book, now for only $24.95, simply post a cheque for the difference, along with any other funds laying about, to "The Baron Munchausen" (any official of letters will certainly be able to deliver your missive, and more importantly the cheque, to him, wherever he might be either on, under, or above the Earthy realms). And rest easy, knowing the Baron will certainly put it to good use. I hear the ’62 is also an excellent year. Yours, Captain T. L. Huckelbery, of the Ærospatial Vessel Falcon, (RET) (Hey all, yes indeed the price did drop on the book)
  22. Hellos and Huzzahs to my fellow tellers of entirely factual tales! The Baron has expressed his desire for his humble servant to relay information concerning the optical nature of his book. Oh, apologies, he meant the spectical nature. Drat, no, he means the specifications for the book, of which there are contained within many of his adventures across the globe, under and above the globe, and into the strato-spherical realms above. Thusly: This new Third edition is One Hundred and Forty Four pages in length, an expansion so vast as to be incomprehensible to any but the greatest of mathemagicians, and barely enough to contain all of the New Content. It is also of Full Colour, with the renowned Omar Rayyan providing glorious illustrations unseen by mortal eyes until now throughout the book. Such is the stunning nature of the artwork that it pushed aside all others, and thus the entire book is comprised of art from this wonderful personage. Ready hand-kerchiefs and tissues, ladies and gentlemen, for surely you will weep upon seeing the Baron's adventures brought to life within these pages. Additionally, the Fine People who give both Imaginary Power and Aeronautical Lift to Games have assured me that there will be Miniaturized Aetheric-Electrical Representations of the Baron's image suitable for use in Forums with Series of Tubes to indicate the Belief in the Baron's Extraordinary Tales, and Willingness to attempt to craft tales of equally fantastical (though, of course, utterly factual) nature. Mendace Veritas! — The Honourable Captain T. L. Huckelbery (ret)
  23. FYI Acolytes, the latest FAQ update is live (and early too!). Enjoy! –Tim
  24. Same type as the weapon with the Toxic quality (left that bit out, but it's the same as in the original rules on page 150). –Tim
  25. Hello Acolytes! The following are some new rules and rules changes we’d like to offer for players to try out. Consider these optional rules which everyone in the group (especially GMs) should all agree to using before inclusion in games. Thanks to everyone for writing in and offering suggestions on them! Acolytes and the Machine Trait We’ve had several requests for Acolyte’s to gain the Machine trait (page 136). Currently, the only way this can happen would be through the GM awarding it from game play or narrative development, but here is a new talent to try out so it can be purchased. Machine Tier: 3 Prerequisite: Intelligence 50, Willpower 40, Mechanicus Implants, Peer (Adeptus Mechanicus) (2) Aptitudes: Tech The adepts of the Omnissiah replace the Acolyte’s weak flesh with sanctified metal. The character gains the Machine (X) trait, as per page 236 of the Dark Heresy Core Rulebook. The number in parenthesis equals the number of times this talent is purchased, but has a maximum value equal to the character’s Toughness bonus. Toxic Weapon Quality We’ve had some suggestions for changing the way the Toxic weapon quality works (page 150), and would like to offer this as an alternative to test out. Toxic (X) Filled with malignant chemicals and fast acting poisons, toxic weapons bring down enemies through virulence and sickness. At the end of his turn, if a character has suffered damage (after Armour and Toughness bonus) in the previous or current round from a weapon with this quality, he must make a Toughness test with a penalty equal to 10 times the number in parentheses (X). If he fails, he suffers 1 point of additional damage for each degree of failure on the test, which is not reduced by Toughness bonus or Armour. After a character suffers damage from the Toxic quality but before its effect triggers at the end of his turn, note that he or another character can use detox (see page 172 of the Dark Heresy Core Rulebook) or another appropriate antidote to attempt to negate the poison. If the character manages to negate the poison, he does not make the Toughness test or suffer other ill effects (besides those of the detox or other methods used to negate the poison). – Inquisitor Tim
