  2. So I thought I'd posted on this before, but can't seem to find it..... We will be embarking on Dream-Eaters at some point in the hopefully new future.... is there thematically much opportunity to use any of the side stories during either half of the campaign... on the face of it there doesn't seem to be, but I have purposely not read through or play tested any of the scenarios....

I’m currently running Carolyn (2 player with Zoey) through Carcosa and have: ever vigilant (a must) dynamite blast (works so well, especially to kill off the man in the pallid mask from distances and still get out of the scenario) I’ve got a plan (hasn’t always been needed but is very useful when I occasionally find myself separated from Zoey!!)
  4. Thanks guys this is my take too! The wording is bad but I think the intent is clear! never used it before, but with Preston and my group I think I can use it quite well at any time... even early on to get 5 cards and if I can get them before my turn even better!!
  5. Just wanted to check that if All In is used on another investigator’s skill test the owner of the card is the one that draws the cards?! The wording of the card makes this a little ambiguous to me at least.... thinking of using it with my current Preston deck and might use a friend to help me get the best results out of it.... Thanks!

  7. A word for Scroll of Prophecies too... this looks a solid 0-lvl tome, and Daisy can use it too...perhaps a rival for Old book of Lore??? Limited by charges, but 4 is decent, and it doesn't exhaust after use!
  8. Isn’t there a weakness as well that interacts with hand size? So that would also not have an impact on glimpse...

  10. And it seems unlikely that they would design it that way given that it is a Guardian card, and they don't tend to get a lot of extra actions in the normal course of events... certainly not ones that could be freely used with this...
  11. This is going to be awesome.... the ability to release these one-off scenarios that can also be played as part of a wider campaign as side stories is one of the great things about this game! you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!- whoops sorry wrong hotel....

  13. Or is that if the skill test has a chance to change the game state? E.g. will failing or pulling a specific token have an effect on the game state? Would it give the investigator the chance to trigger their signature ability or gain something from pulling the elder sign? Etc... if not then the test would not be taken?
  14. Great thanks... Yes that is what I am thinking, plus the bonus of being a relic... mix it with old hunting rifle and keep an enchanted blade or 2....
  15. thanks... so if it said 'limit once per game' that would be for each copy of the card that is played? Oh and do people generally think this is worth 5XP then?

Thought I would check this with the game aficionados on here... and the questions probably valid for a number of cards, but I am picking timeworn brand as the card I am likely to play with my William Yorrick deck..... I assume (perhaps hope) that the cards 'once per game' ability is for each time it comes into play, e.g. use it,... Act of Desperation it.... get it back out the discard pile... use it again... or does the 'once per game' literally mean that even if I get it back into play? for those about to answer me, I salute you!

Let me first qualify what I am about to say with the fact that I have not actually played forgotten age yet, so may not fully understand the nuances of how new investigators may join the party..... So I understand it is an official ruling from the game's designer... but would it not be reasonable to assume that someone joining the expedition at any given time would have brought some supplies with them? They would have blankets, a compass or a first aid kit... would they really blindly walk into the situation with nothing, or assuming they were in 'base camp' could have picked up their quota of supplies there?
  18. All we need now are the Beings of Ib and it will be complete.... 😁 Well Gate Box does seem like one of the strongest signature cards yet..... very versatile usage, starts in play, can be used 3 times off the bat, AND can be recharged by the elder sign token.... oh my!
  19. I'm gonna go for a third on this, even if it won't happen all the time, the spell or tome can be in your hand as well, which you can then discard (should you so desire) to draw a card, which is essentially another free action... I think that could come in handy....
  20. And as it has no health it can't be pinged by naughty encounter cards.....
  21. Just coming back to this as may play with both cards soon.... So we are saying that using live and learn on a failed test that had Drawing thin used on it would carry the +2 difficulty over into the second test? If that is the case then I assume you would also get another 2 resources/1 card?

Well there was the Dreamlands expansion for the original Mythos card game by Chaosium and the FFG CCG/LCG had a cycle of Dreamlands cards... so I am also very hopeful it will come here too, it would be a great change of pace... If FFG decide they like their prelude style scenarios as well a group of dreamers cut off in the dreamlands by some malevolent could serve such a purpose... just saying....

Whatever else is being discussed on this thread around machete etc. I must say I would tend to agree with this, on the face of it Drawing Thin seems to be a go to card that has some ridiculous potential... so it seems interesting that the taboo list is released at almost exactly the same time as a new card that feels like it should almost immediately be part of that list....
  24. I like the look of logical reasoning.... although 4xp might be a sticking point.... but then again I’m reading it that each 2 horror can be from a different investigator so maybe 4xp isn’t so much.... the colt screams ‘eat lead!’ And reload!!!
