Since I prefer other kind of Art, I kind of like it. I think the problem is the characters. We want male human warriors and dwarves.

For me, the printed layer of several Gloomhaven board pieces peeled off entirely, so i had to fix it with a glue stick. Apart from a few "bumps" and corners coming off once in a while, it looks okay now. I understand this is a kickstarter product and quality mishaps such as this can happen, especially with games of epic proportions such as Gloomhaven.
Not the end of the world but still, i never had that kind of problem with FFG tiles. Top quality, always. Also, boards rarely warp, if ever. I had plenty of warping with Gloomhaven and other KS products; perhaps warping caused the boards to get damaged in the first place, causing the integrity of the already fragile surface layer to be compromised because of humidity and overall temperature. I never had to worry about this with FFG products. I played Descent 2nd Edition many times, yet the board pieces are still holding strong.

Yeah, if you don't already own at least one pc/tablet/smartphone then this $175 game is probably not for you anyway. As to reading the market - I guess it's the opposite and they do it very well. Journeys in Middle Earth is a big hit, especially for the 'not so low' price.

I'm just considering  miniature games with a similar amount of physical content (minis, card map boards, dice, tokens, etc.) That Necromunda is a competitive instead of coop doesn't change that 28 minis is 28 minis, cardstock map boards are cardstock map boards and such.
I do agree that Legends lacking one-off games is a miss. I do think them adding some sort of the Delve-like shorter, random game would be a good idea instead of 16 quest campaign-only. There is replayability due to how the different characters have different options interacting with the dungeon and npcs themselves, and the in-between quest actions/virtue decisions/etc. of characters changing what happens down the road, but just being able to pick up and play different scenario and put it away would be nice.
Personally, I don't like Blackstone Fortress's tiles. They look a bit too indistinct to me, but I think I get what they were going for. Had they included some 3d components, I likely would have been more willing to buy into that game as I am a big 40k fan, and Descent fan, and that looked like it could have been an amazing meeting place of the two, but "the dungeons" of the Blackstone Fortress just lack any character. The models are beautiful as always, though.
Edit: Oh, and as far as apps, I don't know many people that lack a smartphone, tablet, or laptop; I keep hearing people say this like its a blocker, but is it really? Is there anyone here seriously considering buying a $175 tabletop game that doesn't already own at least one of these things, if not having old ones lying around in 2020?

Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress MSRPs for $150 for 2d terrain tiles and 44 minis.
Necromunda: Dark Uprising includes some 3d terrain on top of 2d boards (like Legends does) and 28 minis and runs $290
So...yeah, honestly. Seems to be pretty reasonable with today's games.

Seriously, the same hate I read when JaiME was announced: Booo App-drive. Booo no dices. Boo no grid... Boo...Boo. And then you see the sales and it's one of the best sellers of FFG.
Don't take the opinions from the people on the forums. They aren't enough to represent any public and they are the same dudes over and over and over again.

    No, its not.
You can have negative opinions about a game, and offer constructive criticism, but at this point you've already posted in other threads that "you hope the game fails"; you are quickly approaching being a troll.

If you have constructive criticisms, please offer them, but if all you are going to do is post "game is already dead" nonsense, please refrain.

With regards to the app, it does give the flexibility to add more campaigns as DLC which would be great! But they haven't leaned on that as much as I'd have liked in the past, they usually still mostly add physical expansions to get digital content, which kinda defeats the purpose for me, and when they do release digital content they don't use it to its full potential, you don't usually have digital expansions that require multiple physical ones. Mind you this also happened with Decent 2.0, they released only one campaign on its own, they could have made so many more combining different expansions and it could have been so great.

It looked good to me too. I am actually excited about having an app for this game. It certainly made Mansions of Madness 2e better. Crafting could be awesome.

You guys are killing the chicken within the egg, before it even hatched...
According  to all the negativity here and other posts, FFG should simply cancel the release of this game, declare bankruptcy and submit to their Kickstarter Overlords.
Kickstarter games also have their good deal of balance issues which i won't be debating here, but i am looking at you Sword & Sorcery!
After watching the Live stream and reading up the articles a few times, i can see several new, really interesting concepts such as crafting with numerous resources tracked within the app, unlocking random abilities to weapons and armor, giving it a Diablo feel. Also the mechanic of readying weapons, armor, skills and abilities with back to back, upgradable and interchangeable cards seem really clever.
Just how the app will be managing all of that while keeping the focus and balance on what's on the table is a challenge i know FFG can overcome. They did with JIME but i would have prefered dice, which is the case with Descent:LotD. Attack dice defined by your hero, but effects and damage across different weapons and abilities unlocked within the app. Very exciting - at least for me and hopefully, a few others.
I would wait for a little bit more before all of us get to punch the red button...

Randymd got a reaction from kris40k in Campaign, but one-shot too?
They mentioned that you could change characters and player count between quests. So you could, in essence, treat each quest as a one shot that just happens to continue the story from the previous one shot quest. And with the app, you could keep a separate solo campaign running too. The app would keep track of characters and equipment.

Ignore the negativity. This forum is full of it because all D2E hardcore fans expected a 3rd Edition of the same game. After a few month they won't be around here.
Also, Today's internet is full of people complaining about everything. I guess that in their real life (job, friends, gf (if they have...)) they stay quiet so they have to explode here.

Same negativity happened with JiME and today's is one of the best sellers for FFG. Follow the sales, not the comments of the same 4-5 old grumpy guys.

FFG Fans: BOO, FFG recycles uses art too much!
Also FFG Fans: BOO, new art!
Aside from that there’s just no chance there was going to be an Overlord in this game. FFG hasn’t really used that model since Imperial Assault and it’s just not in the zeitgeist right now.

Sorry, but i just can't agree with you on any points here, though i understand it's mainly a matter of taste and personal opinion.
I think this is the future of boardgames and most people will really enjoy it, some others won't as much.
Just give it time will you? more will be revealed soon.
Personally, i find it all very exciting 😃

So, with all the negativity, I feel the need to praise what I’ve seen so far, and how excited I am.  A note that I have no connection to Descent. I thought 2e was too bloated when they let you use 1e stuff which was too hard to find, and it looked pretty generic compared to everything else  I own a ton of Imperial Assault, and I think the Descent/IA system was clunky and uninspired. This new game fixes so much
I am so excited to see the game really going hard on the app, and taking it to a level that it needs to be to shine. One of my biggest issues with MoM2e is how same-y some of the characters can feel. Now, with this game, we get unique interactions with terrain and NPCs? That sounds amazing.
The flipping mechanics sound incredibly cool. Getting to juggle abilities is a really cool decision space that doesn’t just deprive you of abilities, but instead forces a temporary change in tactics. Amazing.
The Diablo-like abilities able to be crafted into gear is simply amazing, and the possibilities here are way beyond what you could do without the app (calculating 10% chance abilities? No thanks.)
The cardboard terrain and elevations  is simply stunning. Steampark got me started with the stuff, Tang Garden made me an addict, and now this game here has really nailed it.
I love the new art style, as it actually feels different than every other dungeon crawler out there. There’s so much “standard epic fantasy” art out there. Give me something fresher and more indie, please!

If you read the stories for the scenarios, one of them explicitly calls Ella his wife and also mentions he has a son.
You can read them here: http://www.arkhamhorrorwiki.com/Arkham_League_Session_2
Part 10 End Game for sure calls her his wife.  There is no Joao anywhere in his story.
How could he not be canon if he was created by FFG? This is not some fan made character, he was created by the company. Why would all of the other characters’ stories match up across games except his? Face it, FFG straight up changed his story. And for what reason? So they could add a gay character? How do they expect us to invest in their characters if they don’t themselves.

    Hello!
We played our first game against Margath this weekend.
    1. As a group we avoided the combat markers almost constantly because we felt we were to weak to fight against the opponents. Should one be more careless as the characters can't die permanently anyway?
    2. We felt that gold was in a permanent high demand. Most all good stuff was much to expencieve with no way to get some gold. Did we overlook something?
    Thanks!

I just played the scenario this morning. My map used tiles from forbidden alchemy and call of the wild, so the expansions are very well supported.
I played a 2 player solo game and just barely won. One investigator had been eliminated, and so I was on my last investigator phase and managed to win. Very cool scenario!
