  1. Are there any fan made GM screen printouts around? I am making a Genesys present for my fiancee. Bought the core book and the Realms of Terrinoth. And printed out the adventure and binding it and I want to make a GM screen too. As I am not that familiar with the system I dont feel confident on making the tables and such myself.
  2. Are there any colour schemes fornthe different armies (official colour schemes)? Like on the different Daqan Baronies and Waiqa legions? I saw a few names mentioned in the painting guide. But I could not find anything in the lore booklet and such. If not it is easy enough to make my own schemes, but wanted to see if there were any official out with lore attached
  3. Jeeeez... It was because of how the rules in general worked in the current BETA I actually started up a new game. The NEWS update is to vague on how much will change in the base rules. Some changes in combat, but not enough details if it is removing Wounds system and AP (that would not be liked) or if the NPC stat blocks can be read both ways of the fence. Depending on the rule changes coming... if it becomes more like the older versions (yes even like OW) I might not bother actually buying the full edition when it comes out.
  4. So we finally get a game system that handles stuff like in the fiction - like lightsabers - and now that is a problem? Well, there are SW games out there that's not quite like the fiction that solves this

KommissarK said: The main reason the YT-2400 isn't available is it is effectively a better version (better armour, hull integrity, handling) of a YT-1300 in the rules (and costs 20k credits more). A few minor variations, but most of them equate to them being far more effective. Also, they have a crew requirement of 3, whereas the 1300 (and other starter ships), have a crew requirement of 2 or less (except the firespray, which lists a need for guards, but beyond that just needs 1 pilot). I doubt the crew requirement is really what matters, but its just something to mention. Its a bit strange since Dash Rendar and his droid could pilot it alone - but the YT-2400 is my favourite small cargo ship in the SW universe, the YT-1300 (millenium falcon) never grew on me.

When rolling dice for the Edge of the Empire game, by default, some symbols cancel out other symbols (failures cancel successes, for example). Rather than make the player eyeball this as they would have to with normal dice, why not take advantage of the technology and have the app handle all the symbol cancelling automatically? Ideally this would be an option that players could disable if they didn't want it. Thus, the app would roll the dice for you, cancel all the symbols that cancel and then have a box somewhere on the screen that would display the remaining symbols after cancellation. For example, if my dice show a total result of four successes. three failures, two advantages, one disadvantage and one despair, the app would display a final symbol pool of one success, one advantage and one despair. Heck, it could even make happy Artoo noises if the net result is a success and sad Artoo noises if it's a failure. Just a thought. Yes, if the App kind of do the calculations for you it would be nice ^^

That is obviously making a difference too. No, I choose the cheaper 25+ dollar shipping to Norway as I have a smaller budget, and he went for the supah shipping one to 80+ dollar… But I do know of those that got theirs sent at the same time with my option so it is a bit random i guess.

Writing out so many thoughts about RPGs has made me realize that, in D20 games and the like I'm downright scared of allowing spontaneous combat sequences, knowing how they tend to suck all the oxygen out of a session and leave no time for anything else… They are supposed to be the same as combat on personal level, its the same basic rules - and its also abstracted, not as "wargame" heavy The two former iterations were.

  12. Mine is pending shipping and I'm definitively not in the US
  13. "International customers should check back in the coming weeks, when we'll post an update about international availability. " I hope this means for those wanting to get the book at retailers, not for us that ordered….
  14. Eddie1969 said: I believe that they start shipping out on August 27. Next monday eh? is that official from somewhere?
  15. So anybody knows when FFG starts shipping the orders? They do have all the books printed
  16. c8tiff said: please FFG, bring back the minis, and the mats I like minis :-) But I do not want battlemats or minis or rules designed around it in an RPG, thats part of the problem I have with the iron kingdoms rpg, though you can well play it without minis, I hate that sizes and stuff is written with models in mind (mid base, large base). Keep it abstract

Just in case they are a bit bigger then the dice I am gonna use. They fit on my standard size Chessex dice for other games… Thanks, then my dice should be perfect size
  18. I'll start with the Thrawn Triology/Dark Empire Triologi then by Zahn I love the Dark horse comics from that time. Keep em coming
  19. So as a prep for the rpg - what are the best SW novels you have read? The era dont matter, so long as its well written and a good story.

I am especially having trouble finding powder blue 6 sided dice to match the Boost dice the game uses. Any peeps want to link here places where you have found the closest approximations to the dice colors please? Thanks in advance! Me, I have primed some dice white and using paint to color them, took me no time at all Now just have to wait for that book to put the sticker on.
  21. Shakespearian_Soldier said: I purchased my copy of the beta book the other day. Very keen to have it get to me quickly, so I can begin playtesting - so keen, in fact, that I've forked out the added cost for Priority level delivery. I'm not quite sure how soon that'll get the book to me, given that I live in the United Kingdom, but here's hoping that it's here before the week's finished. XD That shipping option can be as fast as three days for me in Norway, if that helps ?
  22. Shakespearian_Soldier said: To my understanding, the period between Episodes III and IV is actually a separate 'era' known as "The Dark Times"; the Rebellion Era is usually shown to be the time stretching from the Alliance's declaration of Rebellion, and their first few skirmishes with the Empire at large. I could very easily be wrong, of course, but that's how I've understood it so far. Yes, you may be right - but it could easily with the info in the books concerning rebel era and tech be in those times to I think
