I imagine Mr Borg chuckling to himself as "Heroes" was revealed to the masses. I look forward to seeing more.

Thank you Richard! I'll try em out this weekend. Good to see signs of life for beloved BL.

Well, I believe that all reasonable explanations for delays and building expectations with no results have been exhausted. I tender that there is a more economic reason to explain the silence and seeming indifference to these forum loyalists.. . .

Thaadd is the customer support LADY.
Now see if she can do something about FF's pledge to get "Heroes" out by last winter.
Thaad Rocks. Helped me on a similar Descent issue, and as I recall my gaming group had a Runebound issue she speedily fixed as well.

Where do you live in Colorado then? Just curious - since Todd lives up north and I'm here in Aurora...
Cab
And I'll be back a couple times this summer if you lads want to throw down again.

Well, then it is fortunate that you will get lots of painting practice grinding away on the base set. My one painting piece of advice? Less is more. . .

And u aren't jumping on the opportunity Zeal? Look at how u can direct the Battlelore line!! LOL (And I suspect there will be some nuking of some goblins along the way! <G>)
Cab
Well Cab, online marketing is exactly what I do, but I'm a bit farther along the path than this position requires, or can pay for. Besides, every one knows that Dwarves are far better suited to marketing than Goblins. Goblins are more suited for direct sales. . .

Well their recent job posting sounded like they were looking for just such a person to take the time to. . . *ahem* . . . market to the forum masses: " Manage extensive content for the company website, and other avenues as needed" Perhaps it is not a wanton disregard of sensitive gamer feelings, its just a staffing issue

A few interviews, a relocation to MN and 25k a year, it could be yours! "

I will be first in line -- no doubt about it. But this wait for information is maddening...

Second. You'll be second in line

BAH!!!!

It is remarkably quiet from FFG actually. I don't frequent the other forums as often as I used to, but there seldom seemed a single thread that Mike Z or Thaad or Christan Peterson did not chime in on at some point. Are there no FFG champions for this forum?

Well, they are busy formulating their April Fools Joke, and that takes team effort. I know they will get around to us. . .

I really don't think Negative Moans caused DoW to bail, they got out as they didn't have the ability to carry through on a product they sold us on.As for turning people off seeing complaints about lack of information, well BL has been dead in the water, whose getting active over that?
Negative Moans? Sounds like the making of a new lore Card. Maybe a future necromancer on the council. . .

I can't argue with that decision

I know Zeal would argue quite a bit with that decision though - or definitely got some respect for those little green dudes!

Cab
I yearn to crush those gobbys under my iron dwarf boot in a future clash. . . Alas I must find a new opponent in my new locale. But we shall meet again Cab. . .

Thank you for posting Richard. This is more news than we've heard in 15+ months, so really good to hear, and exciting possibilities about.
Now I will shut up about no news for awhile and enjoy speculating how each of these releases might look in final form.

There are so many awesome 15mm miniatures out there already sculpted. I've started to give up on "official" releases and I just buy these and create my own rules. ... ... although no one online comments on them! ;-) j/k
Your orc catapaults should consist of two figures
Serious suggestion, but made lightly
I'll get on that thread and post, not that it will be very helpful, but I do know that any attention/discussion is good
Back on topic: Friday the 13th seems an apropos date to release some news about this game

Wrong Todd - more like April 1st!
Cab
Ouch! but well deserved on FFG part
OD
Sigh.
Alrighty, in lieu of anything from Mr Borg or FFG team . . . more WILD speculation.
FFG revives early 90's's POG craze for use with Battlelore, as part of their "Super Siege Pack" Now enjoy flinging heavy rubber disks at your cafefully painted troops. (also comes with standards and pennant repair kit.)

Don't think Richard would be pleased to see his game incorporated into another game he didn't develop (Warhammer). But i suspect if we don't hear anything today (the 11th) probably for sure by the 12th. I know Richard is not the type of person to tease his customers (unlike some other companies/folks we all know all too well). And still pretty sad about the fact that still we the customers still can't get even a response from a FFG person other than for maybe a FAQ (and that person has hit quite a few forum boards as well for a FAQ for those games as well - so I really don't count that as a response from them)
Cab
Yes well it IS wild speculation, Cab.
In fact, in your honor, lets assume that FFG Battlelore updated version that Goblin cav units are no longer able to charge...

How about the all new "Grass Blast" Cleric card that finally completes the HR/FF/RR set. It's targeting all enemy units in "Clear Terrain" hexes...

Ha I like it!
Wild speculation does make the waiting more endurable...

I've noticed this same issue! My wife is ruthless, and takes all sort of chances because she can make 'dem bones sing. Perhaps some sort of XX chromosme attunment to the organic wooden dice. . .

.."The Beer Wagon" Any Dwarf Unit adjacent become BOLD 15 howeve to move they must use a Scatter Die to determine direction.OD
I like it OD! Perhaps an addtional bonus of "When adjacent to Hill Giant or Troll, opponent can pay 2 lore up to 3 turns to immoblized unit" Heavy drinker, you see... Of course, if facing BOLD15 dwarves, a monster will be hacked up into soo much goo...

From this thread: http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efpag=0&efid=14&efcid=1&efidt=48819
Richard Borg indicated we would know more on Feb 11th. Well, tomorrow is the 11th, so we shall see. Although Richard phrased it as: "We will all know more after February 11th, " which could mean December 28th, which IS after Feb 11...
So, anyone care to make wild speculation to ease the wait?
How about:
"FFG sells Battlelore back to DOW for pennies on the dollar. A spokesperson for FFG noted that the voracious fanbase for Battlelore frightened them."
or
"Battlelore to be incorporated into Warhammer 40k universe! Try a "Mounted Charge" against a Tyranid invasion force!"
or
"FFG deems HR/FF/RR lore cards too tame. See all new "ICE Comet" and "Leaping Lava" lore cards certain to provoke a table flip!!..."

Well, it WAS an exciting game at least. I didn't care a whit for either team, but it was fun to watch.

Saw this in the DOW forum addressed to you:

in case a limk back is a no-no, here is the message:
a call to the member named "Colts Fan" Fri, 30 January 2009 06:16
Hello!I got your name from the "Sir willibald".
He got all the cards scanned in at 150 dpi and in PNG format, which was used for the Vassal modules.
Can you send those to me please to my e-mail address.

Thanks a lot!

I am happy to hear from Richard, though it blows that neither Coltsfan nor Caboose know any more than the rest of us as they were two of the most active fan advocates in yesteryear and thus treated to a bit more inside info than the rest of us.
Probably doen't even need mentioning, but as we watch the meltdown of the economy in all sectors, some parts of the gaming world will also be heavily affected, so I implore all fans to keep up the noise and support on their favorites and not get forgotten about.

New lore cards are indeed needed, because the balance is so badly broken. Compared to the clerics level and terrain dependant cards, the warrior is virtually useless. I've ended up using medieval lore rules with all the cards. It helps a bit.
Ahh yes, a return to the much sought-after mythical "balance".
My thoughts on that are covered here: http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efpag=1&efid=14&efcid=1&efidt=14584 and elsewhere. Well, if they ever make Vassal Battlelore more fun than excruciating, I think I can restore your faith in balance. . . (or die in a landslide)

Regardless of exactly what, it does appear a great deal of work was put into it just as Richard said, so... awesome!
I will (try really hard) not to doubt again.
The artifacts, etc make me think that someday there could be a sort of the "Decent Road to Legend mapboard" for strategic moves (or quests) for your heroes, before they ever make the battlefield.
