I've just finished doing the Five Kings edition.
Five Kings Edition: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QW2IAC8Y
I hope nobody else did it at the same time. I didn't post to say I would do it because I didn't know if I would have time to finish it.
If you want the raw spreadsheet data or to look at the ruby scripts I made to do it then download the file below.

I thought gold bordered/fancy patterns were simply denoting legendary (or pre-SoIaF) characters/locations/items/events (like Ser Arthur Dayne, Tower of Joy, and Balerion). Did not know there was a mythic rarity baggage attached to it before the LCG switch.
I think this answer is the closest to the truth.
The special patterns were used for "Legendary" cards. Legendary cards represent things of great significance in the Song of Ice & Fire world that either pre-date the books, or are imaginings of what might have been. Rheagar Targaryen is an example of both. In the books he died during the Battle of Ruby Ford (another legendary card, predates the events of the books) & never became King, so his legendary card imagines where he would be if his side had won that battle.
People in the community said that these were originally created to be Ultra-rares, but that never happened, and I don't know if they were correct.

I really like the new agenda. The artwork for it is awesome. I'm a little worried that it could be overly powerful since it allows you to gain power from defending a Mil challenge too, but I guess we will see.
Qhorin seems ok but I don't really like the artwork. From the expression on Qhorin's face I just can't buy that he's some fearless maniac who's about to pound his attacker to death with his bloody stump of a hand. By the same token the wildling attacker (Jonathon) looks like he's smirking, or at best slightly peeved, not in full-on battle frenzy mode. Also Qhorin's sword is turned the wrong way in his hand.

Great job Eric! You should show this to the producers of the Game of Thrones TV series and insist that this depicts the Blackfish's right-hand man Erick, a well-loved character from the books. Maybe you can land a role ;-)
I'm very happy to see this draw ability on a unique character with STR above 2. I was worried we would get the draw ability on some chump non-unique who can be killed or stolen with ease. Blackfish is such a great character from the books, I'm super excited to have him as a mainstay in Stark decks.
Geat artwork from Cris Griffin too :-)

Hi khunkwai,
Yes unfortunately all of the Iron Throne Edition starter packs are Lannister / Stark. I think the Five Kings Edition ones are all Stark / Targaryen.
-
Hmmm, I don't think I want Old Nan, Vyman or the Peasant Defenders. I find it really hard to justify a 2 cost 2 STR character with Venemous Blade around, and Peasant Defenders have the added vulnerability of being an Ally, so you might lose 2 cards for nothing if you put an attachment on them.
As for attachments I removed Northern Steel so I have none in there now. Originally I didn't want attachments because of Compelled by the Rock and Kraznys Mo Nakloz. Now that Compelled by the Rock is gone I will definitely consider adding Ice, but that's the only one. Icy Catapult is a Limited Response and I already have 3 of those (Kill for Your King!), I also have Lethal Counterattack and dupes for saves so I don't think it fits in very well. Winter Cache has too weak an effect to take a slot when I have such low draw, it's only strength is it's longevity and I just can't see it ever winning me the game against a control deck.

As someone who prefers to play Stark but has drifted away of late given how poorly I've fared at building a strong Stark deck, I'm hoping Perthius will share a little about his deck when the OCTGN tourney is done.
I'd be happy to :-) But I should warn you, I won two by forfeit and lost the other two so I don't know if I can call it a "strong" Stark deck

So this was the first LCG deck I've built. I normally play ITE+ format (all cards from ITE on, up to 3 copies of each) with my brothers. I didn't have time to playtest it so I've made improvements since the tourney, but here's the deck I played:
Stark Aggro (60 Cards)
Plots (7)
The Red Wedding
Fury of the Wolf
Battle of Oxcross
A Song of Summer
Siege of Riverrun
After the Mummer's Ford
Mutual CauseCharacters (35)
3 x Robb Stark (KotS)
3 x Jeyne Westerling
3 x King Robb's Host
2 x House Umber Berserkers
1 x Northern Cavalry Flank
3 x Brienne of Tarth (PotS)
3 x Theon Greyjoy (PotS)
3 x Ser Jorah Mormont
3 x Jory Cassel
1 x Dacey Mormont
1 x Varys (KL)
1 x Cat o' the Canals
1 x Hodor
1 x The Hound (PotS)
3 x Bolton Refugee
3 x Carrion BirdLocations (3)
3 x Bay of Ice
Attachments (1)
1 x Northern Steel
Events (21)
3 x Winter is Coming
3 x To Be a Wolf
3 x Kill for Your King!
3 x The Price of War
2 x The Battle of the Whispering Wood
2 x Battle of Ruby Ford
2 x Cannot be Bribed, Cannot be Bought
2 x Parting Blow
1 x Seductive PromiseThe concept:
- Pure aggression. No gold / influence locations, no characters with saves: e.g. Maester Aemon, Arya Stark (KL)
- Get board control early & keep it. Theon & Price of War for location control, lots of dupes & Cat of the Canals to come out of Valar in better shape than the opponent. Jory prevents the dupes from becoming dead cards in your hand if the original is killed.
- Anti-Lanni tech. Cannot be Bribed, Cannot be Bought & To Be a Wolf prevent Lanni from protecting their locations by kneeling all War characters. To Be a Wolf is good vs all houses and I expected to see kneel in some non-lanni decks too (Muster, Kinswood Trail, Fights No Sword Can Win)
- High quality draw. My hope was the high draw houses would have attachment control, location control & gold/influence locations mixed in with their draw and I would be drawing purely characters & offensive events.
What I learned:
- Location control isn't what it used to be. In ITE+ format the old Iron Throne was in every deck, and adding to that cards like Septon of the Isles (ITLP) it was very difficult to justify a cost 3 location. In LCG format I think Bear Island is much stronger than I gave it credit for.
- Needs more War crests; A couple of times I drew Price of War but didn't have a War character, or had one but couldn't keep it standing.
- Northern Cavalry Flank > House Umber Berserkers; I thought House Umber Berserkers + Parting Blow would be a nice board control combo but it didn't benefit me hugely as I had no cardless saves and the combo rarely came up. With the extra 1 STR, Deadly & War crest Northern Cavalry Flank are better even without their ability, and their ability is a monster! Agendas seem more common in LCG Jousts than ITE+ jousts and with Bay of Ice I go first more often than not.
- The low gold concept has its drawbacks. When I was in the lead I gained power very slowly, giving the opponent a chance to Valar, play nothing and come back at me strong the next turn. Blockade really hurt me too. With more income I could use cards like Eddard Stark (Core), Trident Reinforcements & Bear Island.
- Shadows characters make it very hard to win an Epic Battle challenge & prevent them from winning one too.
- It's really hard to keep the season neutral! I thought with 3 Carrion Birds, 3 To Be A Wolf, strong military & good initiative it would be a breeze to draw birds & keep the season neutral. I was very wrong. Especially against Martell, venemous blade makes it soooo hard to stop them from making it summer and getting that extra card each turn.
Stark Aggro v2 (Still 60 cards)
Removed (7)
2 x House Umber Berserkers
1 x Northern Steel
1 x The Battle of the Whispering Wood
1 x Battle of Ruby Ford
2 x Parting BlowAdded (7)
2 x Northern Cavalry Flank
1 x Northern Scavengers
2 x Seductive Promise
1 x Lethal Counterattack
1 x By the Light of the SunWith the Deadly of the additional Northern Cavalry Flanks Seductive Promise becomes that much better. I am very tempted to add a Bear Island to the mix but I can't bring myself to remove any other cards. I may have to try making a high gold Stark deck with Bear Island & Eddard in it.

Amazing art as always!
Just one question. If you win a challenge in which 2 of your House Dayne characters participated can you put a gold token on each of them or only one? It seems to me like only one because you can only trigger a response once, but I've been wrong many times before.
-
Yeah this new location seems very powerful to me. I expect to see 3 of them in many competitive Baratheon decks.
I still primarily play standard format (ITE onwards) and in that format the fact that it reduces cards rather than characters is a big plus. Storm's End, Highgarden & Seduced by the Rose are all very nice cards that are usually difficult to fit in due to their cost.

Count me in!

I'm Australian so put me in whichever bracket you like. The time difference will be fine, my hours are pretty flexible.

I only found out about this tourney once it was into round 2. If you guys do another one I'll definitely sign up.

Yeah you go to the Game of Thrones section of this site and click the "Support" link. The info about organized play is on the right. Or just follow this link:

Great news!

It sounds like they've reached the critical mass where they have enough casual players that they don't have to make the bulk of their money off their hardcore players. I think it will work out well for them. I will definitely want to get 6 copies of some cards to put them in 2 decks meaning they will still get the $30 from me as they did before when I wanted 3 of a card.
Thanks FFG!

I think Max Wax answered this on the first page of this thread. It's a reprint with error fixes.

I'm in Australia. My local store has the first two CPs in the King's Landing cycle and doesn't yet have the Kings of the Sea expansion. I know there are other stores in Australia that get them quicker but it's always a month or more after they are released in the US. I don't mind too much because they come out just as regularly, just a little later.

I can't stand foils. Alternate art all the way for me. The only super-rare card I know of is the George R. R. Martin promo which isn't tournament legal. I think it was given out at one of the gencons and nowhere else.

It stays in the same state it was in. So it stays in play and if it was knelt it remains knelt. Technically it doesn't even have to be moved to your play area. It just makes it easier to see what's going on if you move it. A few other things to note:
- Any attachments on it are still controlled by your opponent unless the effect specifically stated that you take control of their attachments too.
- Duplicates can only be played on cards that you both own and control, so you won't be able to play a duplicate on a character that you take from your opponent.
- If the character is killed or discarded it goes to the dead or discard pile of its owner, not its controller.
-
Yeah I was expecting it would contain more cards than this too. Unfortunately for me $30US and a big box translates to a lot of money in Australian dollars. I paid $80AUD for the core set and now it looks like the expansion will be about $60AUD for 60 cards. Can you guys please print another couple of trillion US dollars so I can get a better exchange rate?

The cards Black Raven and White Raven make it summer and winter respectively. There are three copies of Black Raven in each "A Song of Summer" chapter pack and three copies of White Raven in each "The Winds of Winter" chapter pack.
-
Nah I'm sure it won't be reprints of 5KE Stannis, Robb & Cersei. Look at LCG Balon & Renly, they're not on the same level. Also, it's pretty boring when they all have the same ability like that. Maybe 5KE Joffrey will make it in, and the aRoK ones seem like they would fit in decently, but I hope they go with new ones rather than reprints.

Yay! Thanks so much :-)

Against the Common Foe

"Against the Common Foe
War character only.
At the end of the challenges phase, if attached character is standing, each opponent that initiated a challenge against you must choose and kill a character he or she controls."
If my opponent steals my character but I still control this attachment how does it work? Is it looking at the opponent of the character, or the opponent of the attachment?
