Yeah, I remember my first coreset vividly. . .

Considering the “other way around” got X-Wing to one of the top slots in the Miniature market, it is actually a fair point to bring up.
And if you would like to re-read my post, I addressed it being a small amount. It does still prove that your claim that “epic was forgotten” is hyperbolic at best.
I get it. You (and others) wish epic was supported more. No complaint there. It’s when you start exaggerating your points that there is a problem.

You are free to believe in your religion; nobody here is trying to take that away from you. Scientific consensus disagrees with you, which is also fine. You are clearly not an expert in the bible nor science, so a debate with you on the topic is probably the most pointless thing I can think of.

Yeah, you can lay off with the ad hominem attacks just because I posted in the first person.
ANYONE who loves Epic as their main XWM had the same problems, including some folks I used to love to follow on these forums who quit the game.
Moreover, you miss the whole point that XWM would be well served by creating more niches for players to explore (or making sure those playstyles are better than niche), and that I think that lack of development is what is hurting the long-term future of this game.

I'll grant this much: it's a text transcript and is missing the nuances of human communication that would give us a better understanding. But that's all.
Being self aware of how awful you sound after the fact does not take away from the fact that it was still your first impulse to say the thing that was awful. That's like saying some really anti(whatever) comment off the tip of your tongue then realizing the crowd was probably not the one you wanted to say that in front of. Their first thought was still their gut reaction and mode of thought, and that's more important in an instance like this. Like to be fair to you, if they had led with "at the risk of sounding pretentious..." Or some such lead in asking those lines, then you'd be right, they were self-aware of their position and tried to make light of it. But that's not what happened. It reads to me like straight ego with no filter. On this though we can agree to disagree.
Your right, it got bumped by Legion, which is just proof in the vein of how good the design teams were at FFG that while they were supposedly board game specialists, they showed up with TWO product lines that were contenders at the same time. And still have one at least in it.
More importantly, I'm not so sure we should even use the numbers for last spring (or this entire year really) with the release schedule not having done a lot until these last few months, and more notably the pandemic. I don't find it any surprise that when everyone was trying to figure out a way to stay home the top 5 sellers were mostly hobbyist craft types. To play X-wing at home you don't need the models, you need TTS. So sales of course are going to bottom out. That's a lot of confounds in the dataset to consider it usable. Because even just looking around at how many new folk have joined the forum in the past year, and the post frequency still remaining high, X-wing is the farthest thing from death by a long shot.
And don't get me wrong, we all know changes and adjustments were going to keep happening. That's a given and a welcome one at that. Heck most of our discussions on this board are for changes. But the way these new guys sound is that they're eyeing up something more than the standard point tweak or new mechanic. If they can pull it off, great, but that's a scary big if whenever you change heads like this. Experience has taught me this many times in gaming and elsewhere.
Like they sound like they're chomping at the bit to do 2.5+ ASAP. And while I'll happily later engage in that subject and why I never expected the inevitable 2.X edits to be that bad when FFG still had it, the idea that they sound eager to get started on one is simultaneously unsurprising for a new company that got handed a golden goose, and saddening that they could really muck it up.
I think this catches up our side of the convo to yesterday though where my emoji allowance ran out. So I'll pause here.

Edit for those that haven't seen this: Timestamp about the FFG split is right around 11 minutes in. Prior to that, he discusses the state of the board game industry, so worthwhile watching up to that point.

X-Wing isn't even in the Top 5 of sales, anymore, let alone a contender. If someone doesn't change it/refine it, its going to die. Being "once a contender" looks nice on a resume, but doesn't reflect your current performance.
Besides, even the FFG crew didn't consider it done, as every points refinement and FAQ/Errata was changes on the formula to try to improve upon it.

Oh, I plan to in awhile when things calm down and I can start playing again at the FLGS if I can track down any other local players that still want to dust off their old armies, or if they come up with some solo rules, but in the meantime, I'm playing a Rangers campaign with a group lead by the ranger Kari Wraithstalker, two Daqan Spearmen (Men-at-Arms), two Latari Deepwoods Archers (Archers) and a Daqan Wizard (Conjuror).
Its a fun bit of solo skirmish campaign game, especially if you consider Kari's lore which is pretty much a Ranger. Tweak a few names in the scenario descriptions and you are off taking Kari on an incursion the Mistlands instead of the Shadow Deep.
Here is Kari's band fighting zombies in a village that had been wiped out that they had found they were trying to find out what happened to a missing hero. Using old Descent 1E tiles and tokens for buildings, trees, rocks, etc., since have yet to actually build up a collection of wargame terrain since I got out of 40k a long time ago..
Edit:
After fighting off many zombies attacking the small village, rescuing a survivor and locating the body of a missing hero, they determined that there was a rare breed of bane spider whose venom was capable of reanimating those it killed. Following the tracks from the remains of the village into the near-bye forest on the edge of the Mistlands, they hunted down the nests and burned out the spider infestation. They also managed to rescue several villagers who had been cocooned and dragged into the woods by the creatures.

Smaller donations to the Trump battle chest are going straight to his debt, the RNC, and his cronies. The larger amounts that have to be used in the legal battles are going to ... wait for it ... his legal team headed by Rudy Giuliani who is billing $10,000 per day. So, going straight to his cronies.
Its just one last fleece of his supporters, also costing the taxpayers, before he becomes irrelevant. The Republican party doesn't brook losers, he'll lose relevance once he's out of the office and McConnell doesn't need him to sign off on anything anymore.

Its second hand information, but someone over at BBG posted their interaction with FFG customer service where the response, dated after the announcement of Descent: Legends, is that the plan is that all Descent: Journeys 2nd Ed. expansions are going to be reprinted
