felkor got a reaction from Arc 724 in Question about (side & forced) missions
I thought of the same thing. I think it's legal, and potentially a nasty way to ensure you get some goodies.

felkor got a reaction from Arc 724 in Question about (side & forced) missions
Ok, that's the way I'll play it, and it makes enough sense. Just the rules are not really clear enough, with seemingly contradictory rulings on the same thing.

felkor got a reaction from Arc 724 in Question about (side & forced) missions
Actually, looking at the rules, I'm a tad confused about Forced Missions.
In the Agenda Cards section, it says that the forced mission occurs immediately after it is purchased. But it's purchased in the Imperial Upgrade Stage, which happens after the Rebel Upgrade Stage.
But in the Forced Mission section, it says that when a Forced Mission is played, you skip the Rebel and Imperial Upgrade stages.
Can anyone clarify?

I'm pretty sure there are only ever 2 side missions as an option, max. You only reveal a new one after completing a side mission. (Agenda missions could also be available, but only 2 regular side missions.)

felkor got a reaction from D503 in Do Rebels ever win?
I take it then it would be recommended to do the tutorial mission rather than jumping right in to Aftermath?

felkor reacted to snotwalker in New to the game any tips from experienced players?
1). Be sure to skip the tutorial mission with your friends, and jump straight into the first campaign mission.
2). ALWAYS thoroughly read the mission setup and objective sections. Missing one word can throw off the balance of an entire mission.
3). With round limited missions, be sure the Rebs understand the objective isn't to kill all imperials, but to achieve the stated objective ASAP.
4). Reread the rules reference guide closely, multiple times. Some of those "barely there" mentioned rules are actually game-changing if missed. Some that I initially missed:
A. Heroes can choose to recover one strain/damage for one surge rolled during attacks.
B. Heroes can sell their starting weapons for 50 credits when upgrading to a better weapon.
C. Understand the difference between "threat" and "threat level".
D. the Wookie's Charge special action ignores extra movement point costs. So when healthy, with 4 movememt points available, he could charge through enemy figures and/or difficult terrain for 1 movement point each. Doesn't cost 2 to move through enemy figures during charge. Essentially, nothing slows down an enraged wookie.
on a personal opinion matter, always have 4 rebel heroes in a campaign. Adds more interest and variety of abilities in missions, and overall just seems better balanced.
Enjoy!

felkor got a reaction from Xcerus in FFG can make Star Wars Board Games now?
Xcerus - I would contact whatever store you bought the game from - they might be able to help you out. Whoever distributed the game to them should be able to get replacement pieces.
If that doesn't work, I'd put in a claim through Paypal or your credit card company (assuming you used one and/or the other) and push for a refund.
I'm not impressed with FFG's inability to provide proper support for this game.

There was a big rant here about missing miniatures (as in, all of them missing) but it turns out that for some reason they put them under that cardboard insert that fills up most of the box. I don't really understand why they did that, but the important thing is I actually did have the minis after all. I suppose if anyone else has any missing figures (other than the AT-ST, only have one) I'll just give them my extras.
In my defence this is the first time I can recall ever seeing a company put anything under one of those inserts. I shook the box a bit at one point but didn't hear anything, so I didn't check under the insert.
I was mad yesterday, now I just think it's hilarious.

I've got all mine pre-ordered in one big order - it won't ship until they are all in. So hopefully they all arrive pretty close to the same time.

felkor reacted to zombie57 in Custom Dashboard
Hi All,
Just thought I'd cross post this from BGG, might be of interest to some of you when done...
---
So here I am, a big fan of Zombicide but with a new game, Star Wars: Imperial Assault.
Part of the fun for Zombicide for me was making custom items for it such as characters, pit tiles and so on. The problem with that game, is that when you made custom characters - the equal minis were not always easy to get. With this game, it's different.
I am working on a Photoshop PSD file so that anyone can make their own characters, no matter what the source. This is just a demo but this is what we have so far...
This is Leia and her custom card. It was printed to check scale and does not have anything else really done to it. The skills, health and everything else are all layers in Photoshop so easy to change anything.
Here is a closer look at the Leia figure along with an official one to check scale...

Take photos, send them to FFG, they will send you a replacement.
Then glue as best you can, but don't worry if it's ugly as you'll get a new one.
I had one leg broken, and with a little bit of super glue, I can no longer tell which probe droid was the broken one. But if all 3 are broken, that's probably a different story.

Diala's weapon is also melee and needs no accuracy.
If the Attack symbol is a sword, no accuracy necessary. If it's a gun, it needs accuracy.

felkor reacted to Budgernaut in Game expirience and Rebells on fumes
I've been thinking about some of the issues presented in this thread today. To some people, it's ridiculous and athematic when running through a mission is the best option. They'd rather fight it out. So I was trying to think of times in the original trilogy where the Rebels stand their ground and destroy all of the enemies.i can think of very few. Well, one, to be precise. That it is when Han, Luke, and Chewie take control of the detention level corridor. Even then, reinforcements soon arrive and force the heroes to flee. The other combat scenes all seem to involve getting away.
-Trench Run: Blow up the Death Star before the base is blown up. Forget the fighters and get to the trench!
-Mos Eisley escape: Run from the troopers, run from the Star Destroyers.
-Hoth: Hold off the Imperials long enough to get Echo Base evacuated.
-Bespin escape: Stop Boba Fett (failed) and get to the Falcon.
-Battle over the Great Pit of Carkoon: Fight through enough bad guys to point the gun at the deck and blow up the sail barge.
I could keep going, but the point is that I actually feel that spending a turn using both activations to move is thematic and exciting. I'm sure this comes down to personal preference and others will feel differently, but I wanted to share my thoughts.
Finally, I think one reason the good guys don't win in the movies by "defeating" all the bad giys is because good guys often win by getting the bad guys to surrender, so there isn't necessarily a fight. Think of Lando rescuing Leia and Chewie on Cloud City, or the Han tricking the Imperials in the Endor shield bunker to come out.

felkor got a reaction from gale_wolf in What's the deal with the stickers?
For me, I put the stickers on the bottom of the bases. So far, 90% of the time I can remember which miniature is part of which squad, but on those rare instances where I don't, I can just lift it up and look at the bottom. That way there's still no confusion, and no ugly visible stickers. It works just fine for me.
Eventually I want to paint my minis, and then I'll paint them slightly different to differentiate them.
-
felkor reacted to any2cards in What's the deal with the stickers?
I guess if I play the game before painting the minis, and if there is the possibility of confusion, I will "steal" the idea of placing the stickers on the bottom of the bases. This is a good idea, and at least minimizes the "nastiness" of using stickers on minis to begin with. Thank you.
