  1. Also, units that are defeated go back into your hand, it is not discarded.

From the OPEN GROUPS section of the Rules reference:

"When the last figure in a group is defeated, the Deployment

card returns to the Imperial player’s hand of Deployment cards."

  2. You can't use villains in the campaign until you somehow acquire them.

But you can use anything else, including elite units.  However, in early missions, having an elite unit isn't terribly helpful.  For instance, having an AT-ST in an early mission means you will certainly never have enough threat to deploy it.

From the ALLIES section of the rulebook:

"Allies cannot be used in a mission until claimed as a reward

or granted by another game effect...
Imperial allies are referred to as villains. They follow all of the
same rules as allies, in addition to the following:
    • Once gained as a reward, villains (such as “Darth Vader”) can
be brought into any mission as an open group."

  3. I have been getting XP and using it and influence.  All the imperial objectives in our campaign so far in mine are to wound all of the heroes, Jyn is killing about 4 imperials a turn.  She kills two, then interrups and kills someone before she is attacked, then i attack and barely scratch her and she kills someone else.  I can barely damage them, and the rebels kill them way faster than i deploy them.  I crush the heroes in descent, but the imperials still seem very weak in this.

I don't understand how Jyn is getting in the 4th kill you mention.  Her ability only lets her interrupt once per round, unless you have fewer rebels and she has 2 activation tokens.

  4. For me, I put the stickers on the bottom of the bases.  So far, 90% of the time I can remember which miniature is part of which squad, but on those rare instances where I don't, I can just lift it up and look at the bottom.  That way there's still no confusion, and no ugly visible stickers.  It works just fine for me.

Eventually I want to paint my minis, and then I'll paint them slightly different to differentiate them.

  5. I think additional RP is great.  I'm not much of a roleplayer, but I try to add a little bit here and there as I can as the Imperial.

That said, so far I'm crushing the Rebels, and am not about to do things that would make it harder for them, for the cause of roleplaying.  Right now I'm trying to sort out if there are a few ways I can make things easier.

  6. Also, as the Imperial player, am I required at all to tell the rebels where the green deployment locations are?

I don't believe so, but they will find out pretty quickly overall.  I asked this in another thread somewhere and got mixed replies.  Perhaps if you feel the rebels are struggling in your missions, then make a point of telling them, as a way to help balance things.

  7. I played my first few games last night and a few questions popped up:

    Pounce:

For a nexu, is it possible to attack with the first action, then pounce with the second (which includes an attack)?

NO.  If an action has "Attack" in its description, it counts as one of the attacks.

For a nexu, is it possible to move through a tight corridor where there are enemies blocking your base from fitting, then using pounce mid way through to land in an open area?

Depends what you mean by tight corridor.  The Nexu is 2 squares wide, so I don't believe it can move through a corridor that is one square wide.  It might be able to pounce through it though - I'm not sure.

    Rest:

Is a hero allowed to rest twice in one round?

    Yes.

    Deployment:

How many groups are you allowed to deploy in a round? Are you allowed to reinforce multiple times, assuming you have the threat?

You can deploy as many as you have cards for and have the threat level to deploy.  You can reinforce multiple times if you have the threat.

    Deployment and Setup:

In the campaign guide, when a mission states "Increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment", does that mean just on the first round, increase the threat level 2x and then you can spend those points before the first round starts?

Yup.  If the threat level for the mission is 3, you would add 6 to the threat, and then immediately do a deployment of whatever you want, up to your total threat.  Threat Level is the amount you increase per turn, as listed on the campaign book, but Threat is how much threat you currently have.

  8. Someone on BGG reported that in some regions of the world, FFG is telling people that due to licensing issues, they can't send out replacements.

I'm guessing, due to the holiday season and people on vacation, and the fact that there have been a lot of issues with this game (I had one probe droid broken, but a little super glue fixed it right up), that they have a backlog building up.  FFG is usually fast with these things, but I've had them take a week or two to respond, and I've had many other companies take from 2 weeks to a month to deal with a replacement issue.  So, especially this time of year, a little patience goes a long way.

  9. Considering they call it "Imperial Assault", and there was no empire until the last few minutes of Episode III, I see prequel stuff coming out unlikely.

And with the new movies coming out, Disney will absolutely be pressuring FFG to get new games out that relate to the new movies.

  10.

Also, in regards to some Agenda cards becoming an active side mission when purchased by the Imperial player, if the heroes decide to resolve another side mission instead of that Agenda's mission the Imperial player will automatically get the reward for that Agenda's mission.

Note: These are NOT the Forced missions, those must be played.

    Cheers

So if the Imperial player plays 2 agenda side mission, he will automatically get the reward from the one the rebal do not play (or both if they resolve another side mission), is it correct, or is it forbidden to have 2 agenda missions in play at the same time?

I thought of the same thing.  I think it's legal, and potentially a nasty way to ensure you get some goodies.

  11. isnt their a back story to the characters in the campaign book?

Not that I could see.  If there is, it's hidden in the middle of the book, perhaps as part of their side missions.  I'm not digging into places I don't need to though, because I don't want to see missions ahead of time that I might play as the Rebels some day.

  12. Anyone have any suggestions on how to organize the tiles?

I've now played the tutorial and a skirmish.  The tutorial went together quickly, but it took a long time to sort out the right pieces for the skirmish map.  I was wondering what people are doing to speed up set up time.

Right now I have my tiles in plastic bags separated out this way:
    Large jungle/desert pieces

    Small jungle/desert pieces

    Large Imperial pieces

    Small imperial pieces

Transition pieces (pieces with 2 types of terrain on them.)

And this is certainly helpful, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions that reduce setup time.

  13. It's pretty typical for official miniatures tournaments to require the minis to be painted.

In situations where the tournaments are in a place where they are trying to attract more customers (like a convention), then I think that actually makes sense, but generally, I don't really think it should be a requirement.

  14. Be careful with spoilers - not everyone reading these threads want to know mission information like that.

As long as the mission doesn't require both the normal AT-ST *and* General Weiss, I think the AT-ST that comes with the core set will be a perfectly fine proxy (I mean, is General Weiss going to spend the whole mission with his head popped out of the top anyway?)
