  1. Hey, my suggestion is to either the captain pete idea or the valor idea, this deck, imo tries to do too much at once, at the price of any dark cards that will actually stop anyone, this deck would probably do alright against another aggro but it'll get smoked against a good WR, they wont be able to be stopped with your current dark cards, so you have to rely on killing them faster than they can heal (and oh boy do good world racers heal) but the problem with this, besides the healing is that they don't need to alocate any of their power cards to clearing their worlds so they will be able to use their power to knock off your valor, and without valor you just breaking even with the point they get every turn for playing a world (and I'm sure their healing will more than make up for the damage you deal via pete), and when they start with 7 or 8 hp, it's an uphill battle.

however if you never play any world racers this deck will probably hold it's own, I'd consider some destiny islands and if you can get your hands on one a king, so that you can more reliably get out valor or sephy when you need them the most.

But I do think this the best advice would be to put in some better dark cards so that you can stop a WR, the hard part is choosing what to cut :S

To everyone who has said they will never buy any FFG games again, and any other over the top reactionaries....all I can say is get a grip!  FFG did not kil off there CCG just to harm you personally. They were BLEEDING cash. As much as they and their fans LOVED the games you cannot run a business that way. That's right first and foremost FFG is a business. While making kick ass games is a close 2nd, making $ is thier number one priority. That's not a personal attack on them, just a fact of life. If they don't make $ they don;t make games.

Reread the front page post. They tried to make it work but CCGs are dying all over the place.

It's shame when any game finally goes DOA,but that does not mean that you cannot keep playing a game you love. No one is going to show up in the middle of the night and repo you cards.

    Relax.

-H, who has never played a CCG game.

I understand you coming here and wanting to defend a company you obviously love, but your opinions are unfortunately pretty uneducated.

I own (and love) three of FFG's Big Box, epic games and 3 or 4 smaller FFG games.  Everyone of the big box games I own have erratas posted on the game's page and people activley answering ruling questions from people on the forums. Non of this can be said about KH. You said they tried to make it work but the fact is they didn't try very hard. I've seen the type of effort their capable of puting into their games but they didn't here.

All in all I think it's good that their getting out of the CCG market because they obviously couldn't/didn't put the required amount of money/effort/research/advertising. But based on what I see this is totally their fault, and like you said, they are a business, but it was bad business to string a game along and put half ass effort into it, and for that I think boycotting FFG is warrented.

I for one won't be because they do put the required effort into their board games and make fun, high quality products. It's just a shame that they had the rights to an extreamly popular and successful video game and screwed up what could have been an extreamly fun, popular and lucrative card game.

Note: when I say they I mean the company as a whole and not one persone, certainly not Jaffer as I can see the effort he tried to put into this game.

  3. In sets 1,2 and 3 Dark Riku is really nothing to worry about, A light Aggro Deck with Phil, monstro and sephiroth will destroy it, since sephy is a permanent +9 and dark decks just can't keep up. It could be tricky with a WR though, If you set on building a WR to counter it I'd use lots of tinkerbells (since like the only way to stop you from playing them is wizard which is a lvl 7 so not a big deal) and just slowly move through your worlds, keep in mind as light you get all the neat tech stuff such as jack skellington + beast and herc. oh and make sure three of your worlds are monstro lvl 1.

As far as your fun annoying deck goes, It's not such a bad plan actually, the only reason it doesn't work is because of monstro, before that card the three duck bros were pretty much a staple for an aggro deck.

  4. The thing with phil is it's a good card besides it's amazing effect, most light decks imo should be running at least 2 phils since it's a solid 6 attack lvl 1 friend, so you can use it to bridge (play lvl 2 and higher friends) and throw it in a challenge when you need, and on top of all that, if you know your playing against a deck that plays quite a bit of magic you can leave him out for the sole purpose of hindering them.

So in general I don't use it to stall but if the situation/deck I'm playing against calls for it I will.

The only magic card that has had a huge effect on gameplay imo is stopra, but with 3 magic off the start (Ansem) cards like fira/stop/blizzra/thundara would be good.... if it weren't for phil

But if no one around you plays with phil it could be fine to toss in those magic cards... although that will probably eventually lead to people playing phil... and then ansem gets alot worse.
