Don't you realize that an RPG is about roleplaying? So what if the administrative tools for the roleplaying game are new/different/unconventional (like dice, character sheets, pencils, papers, cards, Gm screens, whatever). The game is still about roleplaying, and from the information released I can't say that i've seen anything that hints towards it being anything else than an RPG.
You do realise there is nothing at all to suggest that these pointless new mechanics won't get in the way of the Role Playing part and everything to suggest that it will.
Also this is not a Traditional Roleplaying Game, its actualy what is usualy called an Indy Roleplaying Game, you know the you wear three hats and ballence a squid type...

I like Boardgames and CCGs but I hate this so whats that say about me?
If FFG wanted to create an Avant Gaurde RPG why can't they **** Grimm or or Anima? Why destroy OUR game?
I don't just blame FFG, I blame GW to. Who ever is in charge of making sure GW Interlectual Properties don't get missused must have been asleep on this on. I hope all the Gav Thorpe Haters are happy, cause when Gav had that Job I'll bet he wouldn't have let this **** through to the Keeper..
Seriously How does half an hours worth of set up make an RPG better? I have enough trouble not losing my Character Sheet, let alone trying to remember what special cards I had from last session!
And whats with this GM and up to 3 players **** I hear about? Maybe the low numbers is because the target audience has hardly any friends anymore after neglecting them all to play WoW?
Also why dumb down Warhammer 'for the kids' 40K is what the Teens play, WFB is all dudes in their 20s and 30s!
I seem to remember stuff like this being tried before and gee wasn't Dragonlance the Third Age such a huge hit....
If what Hasbro did to D&D 4th ed was The Bad Toutch then this is Violent Prison ****!

Can anyone tell me anything about this place?
I'm writing an adventure set there what can you folks tell me?
I have a few ideas but I want to see what the official fluff is first.

I myself ban cross gender PCs except with specific permision from me and only if I thgink the gender will actualy enhance the character or will be an important part of the character (i.e. a Sister).
since invoking this rule I have only twice lifted it and then only for players I trusted to play them properly. Once for a Female Halfing Cleric in WFRP 1st ed and once for a Black Fury Bounty Hunter who rode a motercycle and secretly read trashy Mills & Boons books in Werewolf: the Apocalypse.
Every other game I've been a player in and watched other guys play women they have done so awfully horendesly badly. Either playing them as sluts or or men with boobs. (The former realy disturbs me and I make a point of never ever letting those guys meet my female friends as it makes me question their attitude towards the fairer sex!) thats said most of the games I've seen dudes play chicks is D&D and gender is totaly irelevent in most cases these days.
Also I have never gamed with a girl who wanted to play a dude, even in sexist medival settings! Go figure!

Yeah I wouldn't mind making some background based on the Warhammer world and changing the board abit. Might start today.I for one (among many) would vote against such a move. If you want a Talisman closer to Warhammer, then find a copy of 3rd edition. That's what was attempted with 3rd and it didn't go over very well with the majority of board game players. This is part of the game's history. Probably why 4th edition attempts to step back to the foundations of the 2nd edition.
Go easy on him he's only a youg'un.
But you are right it was sorta tried bnack in 3rd Ed when they plonked a load of WFB dudes into talisman and it was just a bit wrong.
Talsiman is High Fantasy and Warhamer is Low fantasy and the two don't mix well.
If you want a Warhamer Board Game, lobby GW to reprint or licence WHQ!

Bad luck or evil conspiracy?

Gotta say I'm with you on the hope they lose money bit. Was planning on giving Anima Tactics ago and Grimm has always interested me but FFGs can go to hell if they think I'll spend a cent on any non-GW licenced game they produce after they've done this to WFRP.
