  1. As long as you have a good teacher the game is fun. I showed a group of 4 people the game at a board game bi-weekly meeting and the next time I showed I heard they played 6 games in a row, the same 4 people, and they couldnt get enough of it.

5 to 6 players is key for a great game, 4 is enough for a good game, and 3 is an ok game. The more people the better chance for things to be jacked up.

  2. Does Helo start the game drawing a crisis card? He starts off the ship and cant take a move or an action.

Roslins side effect discarding two cards to activate a ships location does this include Colonial One? If it does its more of a hendrence then any other character, I been playing it she only discards cards to activate a spot on Galatica as she is not a military person. If she dose have to discards on Colonial One and doesnt have the cards to discard can she still activate a space on Colonial One? I am a firm believer in times of peace to use exective orders to give the president actions to draw quarm cards (one exective order is 4 quarm cards) as they are very usefull tools.

If someone crisis card that tosses someone in the brig. Can they choose someone all ready in the brig? It came up twice in my last game. I thought it was cheese and said no, but the other half of the group said it should be and instead of slowing down the game I left it and said I'd ask about it.

Just a few questions we came up with last game cant remember the rest.

It is the Columbus Area Boardgaming Society, if you google Cabs Rocks, you can find them.  http://www.buckeyeboardgamers.org/ is the link for their website.  Tonight Friday Dec 19, 2008 is the Christmas Party and Meeting with lots of gaming.  On the website is a 2009 schedule.  The first meeting you go to is free.  After that its $3 a meeting or you can join for the year - I think $35.

I get to a couple meetings a year - generally you can play any game you would want to.  Most people can teach you any game and most people are willing to play any game.

    Hope this helps

We are looking at doing something with the raptor models as they seem completly wasted as quality plastic models. Am currently thinking of letting pilots piloting them an if so then letting them activate the galactica location (I believe it's command) to activate 2 unmanned vipers from within the raptor.

The only way this would benefit players if having a raptor out does something by itself, am currently thinking that having a raptor launched should allow players who activate a viper (manned or unmanned) to move and shoot, of course this would make starbuck even better so it will take a bit of tweaking but i like the idea of having non-combat raptors out there helping the vipers do more.

I was thinking perhaps use Raptors as the scout ships they are. Instead of having them activate just like the command center on Galactica, have it like a CAG giving orders. A piloted Raptor can play cards for unmaned vipers as if they where piloting the Viper, but this can only be done if the Viper and Raptor are in the same space on the board. Also a Raptor can benifit an unmaned Viper by giving it a +2 to the die roll, but only if someone from Galactica activates the Viper from the controll room, just as if it had the advance scouting information. But no bonus with piloting cards played by the pilot of the Viper.

Not sure how this would work, but it was an idea I just came up with.

I would be interested in getting a game going, depending on time and location.  Have you ever been to CABS, a game group that meets on every other Friday.  I have two young kids so my gaming nights are somewhat limited, but let me know when you would like to play

    Thanks

  6. I just played a game with a group of non fans, after the game was over, one of the players went out and started watching the DVD's so they could catch up to the new season when it is due out on Sci Fi channel. Everyone else enjoyed it. Now they didnt get the role playing aspect of the characters as I was calling everyone toasters and what not. But they did enjoy the game, the only down side they had was the lack of diversity in skill cards. All skill cards have 1 of 2 set of actions, they thought there should be a few 'Rare' skill cards to add flavor to each skill set.
