  1. Let me know if there are going to be any more tournaments in 2013 as we have a few players in the Midlands who would attend. Thanks Tearmat.
  2. Now that I'm back from my very quiet and relaxed holiday in Mexico I'll be there... Suppose I'd best play a couple of games then its been a while.
  3. The long haired one is absolutely owning me at the moment with a very nasty chaos deck..... eats unit based decks alive, I don't know the Italians are moaning about VTHC so much. If you don't have a unit on it, it doesn't work. I don't know maybe its a thing for white flags...
  4. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=155&efcid=4&efidt=495779 Link to the winning deck.

  6. I'd love to be there on the 31st of July gents but unfortunately I'm going to be lying on a golden white sandy beech in Cancun Mexico, surrounded by beautiful women in bikini's, destroying my Kidneys with the large amount of all-inclusive beer that I'll be drinkiing. But let me know when the next one is and I will endevour to be there. Carl its probably worth dropping the event details on in its own thread to get maximum exposure.

  9. It is interesting how different players approach the use of tokens and assigning damge, like most things in life it probably comes down to individiual preference and style. As long as its made clear for the oppoenent what the dice or other markers represent then its all good. Personally I moved away from using tokens and use dice as I find them clearer and easier to use. With reagrds to the card size capital boards they are useful when you haven't got a large gaming area to play on but I'm not a huge fan of them either. With the release of legends there use may be pretty limited anyway.
  10. Great tournament Carl thanks for organising. It was good to catch up with all the guys again and play some interesting and tense games of invasion. Looking forward to the next event in a couple of months.
  11. Looks like we'll be at Norhtampton on the 8th May then. Let me know if you fancy coming over for some practice between now and then son.
  12. Unfortunately the Birmingham team can't make this event either, I'm away fighting on the 17th. But definately let us know the date of the regional event and we'll make that we are in attendance.
  13. Hi Steve, There should 3 players who are willing to come along and take part in a tournament from Birmingham. I haven't run any tournaments for a while but do have a bit of experince organising and running events so if your stuck for some one to co-ordinate I'm sure you can twist my arm into it. I'll email you my contact details. Mark.
  14. Any idea when the next event is guys and we'll try and bring the Birmingahm guys down again.
  15. Ignoring the obvious collecting differences between WC and WI, in terms of the game play and mechanics I would have to say the WC is aby far a much better game. It is more strategic and was very balenced for the majority of the time. That being said I do prefer the LCG format of Invasion for actucally collecting a card agame.

We did some testing and are still unsure what you do against blitz apart from hope that you win the Judgement lottery. As Andrew has posted his deck list at the start of this thread and I'm sure that you won't have any issues posting yours Mike so that people can view all top 3 deck lists. Judgement Lottery indicates that the outcome is all about luck. With the reuslts and consistency the deck returns its more about timing than luck. It does take a couple of turns to set up and against blitz you are bound to take some damage and probably lose a zone in ther process. Its all about picking the right moment to play out the decks multiple combnations. Here is my Empire decklist, hope your find it useful. Units: Reiksguard Knights x3 Gold Wizard Acolyte x3 Pistoliers x3 Johannes Broheim x3 Reiksguard Swordsmen x3 Peasant Militia x3 Zealot Hunter x3 Tactics: Innovation x3 Will of the Electors x3 Forced March x3 Iron Discipline x3 Judgement of Verena x3 Support: Warpstone Excavation x3 Contested Village x3 Contested Stronghold x3 Shrine to Taal x3 City Gates x3 Rung Fang of Solland x3

Does the Empire player from Sheffield post here? Infrequently when I'm not being forced slave to slave away organising high value negotiation strategies or rolling around on the floor in angry white pj's... How may I be of service.......
  18. Thanks for a great event Jim, and pizza was a nice touch. Look forward to travelling up to Sheffield again in the near future.
  19. echtalion said: Hey Mark, didn't you say that this tourney was too far? After massacring dark elves, skaven, etc. in Aldershot (and win) you then went to Sheffield and came second. I'm gonna have to discuss techniques and deck-building with you I had a free day without any real fighting to do and Lee wanted to run his own Orc deck after loaning it to his brother for the Aldershot event, so I though we'd take a drive up to sunny Sheffield and see how the Northern boys were getting on playing Invasion. As far as deck building and techniques go..... It appears that anomalies are starting to occur with a little more frequency in this game. That being said the current environment is really being dominated by Dark Elf / Orc & Skaven combination rush decks. Extremely hard to counter I just got lucky in a few games. Drop me a message anytime.

  21. Tallgeese said: A huge thank to all, especially the guys who travelled a long way to get here. Thank you for not stringing me up for the result entry mistake. Thanks for a great tournament big man always a pleasure to make the trip down to sunny Aldershot just a shame that you couldn't make it out on the Friday night. Next time.
  22. Wytefang said: In all fairness though the decks brought to the Aldershot tournament (including the winning deck) could have done well due to the players playing in that tournament not quite building the best Orc/Skaven or DE/Skaven decks and then possibly just not playing them well if they DID bring a decent Rush deck. I guarantee you won't see Empire winning (especially not pure Empire) regularly at all. Maybe you just haven't got the players in your region that have the skill in constructing and playing mono empire decks. All the decks at Aldershot were very built to a very high standard and were extremely competitive. I'd expect nothing less from the UK players. Can pure empire beat decent rush decks regualarly... yes... I'd expect to see a bit more of it in the future as well.
  23. Tallgeese said: OK, the sideboard issue, we have One Yes and Two No's so far, I'll leave this until the end of Sunday and go with the general consensus, democracy in action. Whats the result then MR G have we decide if a side board is being allowed or not?
  24. Tallgeese said: OK, the sideboard issue, we have One Yes and Two No's so far, I'll leave this until the end of Sunday and go with the general consensus, democracy in action. Tactically and to make my life easier I'd say Yes. But a decent deck should be able built reliable enough even tio handle its more difficult match ups, so on that side I'd say No. This bloody fence is really make my bum itch......
  25. Tallgeese said: Aldershot has a 4* hotel? I'm genuinely shocked, it's got to be in Farnham or Alton yeah? Of course Aldershot doesn't have a 4* hotel I've been forced to stay at the Barcelo Basingstoke, its going to be tough but someone's got to do it..lol
