Yup treat this as any other check. So add up your fight +items to combat checks...roll those dice and if you get a success you get a spell or ally!

Play them one at a time first.

I would recommend getting DH and then KiY.

Well if the DW Horror moves he can add doom tokens to the doom track...and well if it moves into a vortex that's just all types of evil! and AO like evil so they show up!
but really the Dark Druid just gives monsters a path to move on if they move i.e. the black so he not going to ignore monsters normal movement types, ie fast, stalker, flying, green 'special' movement, etc

If that happens the AO awakens immediately.

Always play that ally that gives you a exhibit item.

I treat this one as placing 3 spawn maniacs (or fewer if 3 can't be found) on the streets. Only the investigator who kills the last one gets the Exhibit item.
If they're still there at the end of the next mythos phase when the headline expires, they lose their temporary spawn status and probably go to the outskirts.
This almost certainly can't be the originally intended interpretation, since spawn monsters didn't exist in CotDP, but it seems closest to the original intent, is fun to play, and doesn't make the headline impossible due to monster limits 90% of the time.
(Same for the one that puts ghosts into Miskatonic)
I play similar to you here...never thought as treating them as spawn though but have been ignoring them for monster limit. I short of view this card similar to the Terrible Experiment rumor.
don't forget the one with the fly monsters...
...and should I even bring up the Environment where locus are hopping everwhere and the Headline that places two exhibit items on the streets...the both say "end their turn there". So to get the Exhbit item you just be there until end of the turn or the locus attack in you end your movement? Sort of think they meant to say "end your movement" on these cards!

I could see #2 kind of clunky i.e. investigator #1 moves to the Downtown street kills a Maniac then evades the other two...then Investigator #2 kills a Manic and evades the last, etc

I do top bottom and shuffle after wards. Basically if you don't shuffle you have a better idea what going to com up...oh look I passed 3 elder signs looking for a tome best not waste time shopping for one...ya know stuff simliar to this.

so do you live in either dublin or glasgow?

Yes but you forget the points...I will have the most point ever! wuhaha and only avatars we can have are preselected ones and we can see how many friends everyone has...uh and everything is all grey looking!

It makes sense to me that they move along black path but due take into account normal circumstances, i.e. investigators in same space, stalker movement green border, etc
I just can't see the monsters mindless moving away from an investigator or not flying down upon one.

Also make sure to use your eldar sign.

Usually a focus 3 investigator kills Ol'Yibby...they get blessed then re-blssed then lay down the beats!

I looked in the FAQ and could not find it. Could have sworn that monster that appear at a street via mythos card don't stay. I thought the only monsters that stay are ones via Gates opening and Monster surges!
...between this and the clue question...
lol Have read the rules dozens of times and played @100 games and I still have no idea what going on!

If your talking about Place 2 Monsters in X street they don't stay there. Only Monsters from Gates.
Excuse me??? You mean when you draw a card that says "2 monsters appear at Merchant District Streets", you just place them and then take them off again? What's the point of those monsters being placed in your opinion then?
If there happens to be a investigator there at the time they have to fight and/or evade the monsters. Look in FAQ question about this.

I agree with Avi_dreader on the interpretation of the "draw and resolve 2 Mythos cards..." You draw the first card, and resolve everything on it. Then you draw the second card, and resolve everything except the gate on it. Our first 2 cards were both "place 2 monsters..." cards; so we had 6 monsters in play during the first turn (and a monster limit of 8).
If your talking about Place 2 Monsters in X street they don't stay there. Only Monsters from Gates.

Big Expansion ~DH
why~ gates and no one is on boring rift duty
Small Expansion ~KiY
why ~Gladius of Carcosa aka an awesome weapon plus the cards are clean i.e. wtf does this mean?

hmm...guess I've been doing question #2 wrong this whole time but then again if there is a monster there you don't have to deal with it until next turn!
Historical Society Members are bird watching in the wood move there and don't get that clue!
Guess the same would happen returning from LiTaS?

Considering gates don't open in KH I'm going to say no.
If time is a issuse play Yig or start the game with some gates alreayd sealed.

Investigator's Staring Items unavailable
in Arkham Horror Second Edition
Posted
For example Wilson’s Richards shotgun removed from the deck in scenario nine or Sister Mary’s cross is unavailable due to both of them being used.
I could still see giving Mary here Cross sense it’s not a scenario i.e. make a proxy of one.
but Wilson’s shotgun? These are possible outcomes I’ve thought of…
1) Gets the monetary value of the shotgun 6 dollars
2) Random common item
3) Nothing
4) Still gets shotgun
5) Other
I’m leaning towards number one due to the fact all investigators get around 25 dollars worth of staring equipment (read this somewhere in old forums).
That way it would stay true to the Scenario and to the character’s monetary value for staring equipment.
