  2. we can not even agree on Jenkins’s simple ability...so please no one bring up Charlie Kain If it said draw one common item then draw another common item you would draw two and then two but sense it say's draw two you would draw two plus one for a total of three! Did not read thogrim's response first before posting but it's the same!

  4. Dude go buy KH maybe Santa will get it for you but our groups hardest AO is Y'Golonac.
  5. tamsyn said: depends how we are feeling and what we haven't played for a while. not more than 1 board and expansion though, it is too daft. I can also say the epic battle cards don't get in much since they are hideous. That why I like em
  6. I like Colt's interpretation but False on the guy above me Feeds Raid Arkham does not return spawn monsters. This example is in the FAQ. DW Vortex is a special case because if they where not removed they would be in limbo next to the Vortex.
  7. I know the rules say choose investigators (randomly or not) before AO (randomly or not) but they really don't give any guidelines on how to do it for Heralds, Guardians and Difficulty cards. My friends and I like to choose our investigators first then randomly choose the AO. Then for herald or guardians we roll a d8 and consult this chart... 1-2 ~nothing 3-4 ~Guardian 5-6 ~Herald 7-8 ~Herald and Guardian ...also roll for the Herald and Guardians when they come up. Was thinking about rolling a d10 for the difficulty cards sense there are 5. So let me hear some other ideas about how people go about this process.

Well, I think your interpretation is wrong. How would you treat a card that said: 'The investigator gains Focus 3' ? Would you add it to the investigator's existing Focus? Or would it replace the existing Focus? What would happen to Wilson Richards if he would draw the card? I would add it to their Focus and in Wilson's case his focus would be 7 (4+3). FAQ in KH rule book clears up Wilson's infinite focus.
  9. thorgrim said: Yes, but that is dollars. You can gain any number of dollars by getting them out of a bank or robbing someone or asking your parents for some cash, but we are talking about a skill, an ability. If you teach a child to count to ten, then teach it to count to ten again, does that mean it can count to twenty? No, it can still only count to ten. No where in the rules does it say a Monster can not gain the same skill twice but most of the times is does not matter...Physical Imunity, etc unless one uses that spell (Red Sighn?) that removes a skill! Sense they could have it twice you would just remove one but really this issue should never come a monster with NM gaing NM again, etc.
  10. Mike said: Well, what if I choose a route that leads through all locations? Will you tell me I must choose between shortest or longest way? Because if you do, you are constructing a house rule again, as nothing on the card even remotely implies such a thing. How do you get from A to B if there is no route? Just teleport? So where going to have a teleporting 1920s Patrol Wagons just so investigators cannot trade Food? Thematically I could see not being able to trade in route using the Patrol Wagon because it’s moving and in order to trade you have to stop but Teleporting? Sure they have Flux Stablizer (or what ever Kate’s thing is called) but she a Scientist.
  11. To emphasize my point again... if you have a encounter that read gain a dollar(1) and you already have a dollar(1) you would not gain it because it says "gain" not "increase" and you cannot gain something you already have...of course this absurd but so is saying if a Monster has Nightmarish(1) and they gain Nightmaris(1) they don't gain it and it's not increased because they already have it.
  13. If they wanted it to be based solely on good grammar they would not have used numbers but gave it its own name for each numerical value... for example Nightmarish(1) would just be Nightmarish... Nightmarish(2) would be Mindbreaking... same idea for Overwhelming... so if they did name the numerical value its own name then I could get the same ability twice but with different values.
  14. You just choose your route...the longest or shortest way then move and if there happens to be investigators between point A and B guess you guys are trading ...but it does replace your normal movement so no reading tomes and other things that require movement points to use... if you did not allow trading like this via the Patrol Wagon you would only be able to trade at points A and B while using the Patrol Wagon!
  15. Sense those are not skill checks clues nor Mandy may not be used.
  16. The Bank Loan says nothing on it that the bank has not to be destroyed in order to have to pay it. There is nothing in the rules or on Shdde Me'll so just assuming you don't have to pay is pushing it. “Oh look where playing Shudde M'ell lets all get Bank Loans asap because if the Bank is destroyed we don’t have to pay them back.”
  17. The only cards I have noticed that give Nightmarish x and Overwhelming x are... Madness Card ~Necrophobia, gives Undead Nightmarish 1 Mythos Card ~Strange Murders, gives flying monsters Overwhelming 1 Looks like the only monsters effected by these cards that already have Overwhelming and/or Nightmarish are the Flying Polyp and Wraith.
  18. One of Abboth's spawn monsters has a Nightmarish(2) and another Overwhelming(2).
  19. True it is simple English but the sprit of the card(s) (at least to me) means it's cumulative due the simple fact there are numbers involved. Nightmarish(2), Overwhelming (1), etc So if a monster had Overwhelming(2) then gained Overwhelming(1) would there be two separate events of overwhelming, one event of overwhelming(3) or your choice of the two overwhelming because surly overwhelming(1) and overwhelming(2) are different.
  20. Yes but if the magical resistance hand a numerical value for example magical resistance (2), etc and a card gave magical resistance (1). I think it should be a total of magical resistance (3) but we all know magical resistance doesn’t have a numerical value so something that give a monster magical resistance that already has it doesn’t do anything but I would think a card that gives a monster with overwhelming(1) another overwhelming(1) the final should be an overwhelming(2). This is what makes sense to me.
  21. I'm going to go with yes...mainly because its a numerical value.
  22. Yes their is a point to join...because its cool and the theme of the expansion...sometimes good thing happens "rarely" moslty horrible wet things happen to your pooor investigator and yes that is your blood! Just punt extra cards on the board, floor, on top of one another...buy a tower to punt the cards on...there is something and you will find.
