  1. I don't have the book but from other forum posts around here it seems it's much poorer then normal.
  2. If you want generic fantasy races, why are you playing Anima? There's a slew of games with traditional boring races.
  3. Yeah, you can only ever have one Arcane character in your party.

It's not really a demo copy as you have to win a chance to play it. And they won't have any to sell at Arkham Nights.
  5. H.P. Lovecraft said: Re-Animator is a classic, are you on crack More films based on Lovecraft's works Die Monster Die The Haunted Palace Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not Lovecraft influenced, but there is a reference to the Dunwhich Horror in the dialog The Gate Gate II Necronomicon There a dozen or more short films available on DVD, submitted to the Lovecraft convention that happens every year or so Evil Dead Evil Dead 2 From Beyond Bride of Re-Animator Beyond Re-Animator All in my DVD collection It doesn't matter if it's a classic or not, it's still crap. You are aware Lovecraft had almost zero **** and gore in his stories, yes?
  6. Tox said: Don't even bother with the recent movie "Cthulhu", as the movie has nothing to do with the mythos, except the title and some random scenes. It's quite useless even as just a general movie =P "Dagon" is by a spanish director and is pretty faithful to The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but the movie has many other flaws. It's still better than "Cthulhu". Ignore this guy. "Cthulhu" is easily one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, not to mention one of the best mythos movies made. If they took out Tori Amos, it would be flawless.
  7. Normally you get Lost In Time and Space but I'm pretty sure that event ends with you going back to your original space.

Plus I love the personal stories addition the most out of any new mechanic. Dunwich is nice but it really never seens any action in our games and I hate the Injury and Madness cards. I never take one, I always have enough crap cards to lose instead. Kingsport is terribly boring. I'm really considering removing it from our games and I NEVER remove expansions. I'm the minority in LOVING the Black Goat expansion. I think it's just all kinds of neat and I love the Corruption cards. A simple fix for the rarity of corruption is just to start everyone with one corruption card and an extra clue. The rest of the small boxes are ok; I really don;t like the Exhibit items from DP, they've been completely useless every time we've gotten one. King in Yellow doesn't really seem to add anything notable either. I really like what I see in Lurker although I haven't played a game with it yet. Why an extra clue? I like the idea of starting everyone with a corruption though. I might add that in as a house rule :') Skill, relationship, corruption :'D (I'd feel less guilty playing with relationships if I added corruptions). Because Corruption is "bad" so I want to balance it out somehow. You could replace the clue token with a common item if you'd like or maybe 5$.
  9. Oh, now, don't be dissin' my vidjima games. But yes, board games are fun. Hold your friends at knifepoint and make them play once; eventually you'll find some that like them.
  10. Gloria is my favorite cranky, Jewish, lesbian spinster. Her ability kind of blows but I'll always play her if she comes up.
  11. Stenun said: Tibs said: As an addendum to Stenun's comment, naturally since a die can't go above 6, a roll of 6 also means 6, not 7. This is important because the rules do not say that a 7 counts as a success, and the idea that Grapple could give you a 7 would make Grapple worthless. I don't see why a 6 can't become a 7. No, a 6-sided die can't naturally roll a 7 but so what? For the same reason no roll can go negative. If we accept that a 6 becomes a 7 because the rules say it can't, then we also have to say that a 7 isn't even a success because it's not a 5 or a 6 as the rules state.

  13. How do the two compare? My main reason for never picking up 4ed is that 3rd was really just a roll and move game and, if I wanted something a little more tactical, I already have Runebound.
